This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

More than that and you'd need a booster which is priced around $40 (some cheaper, some more expensive) .

Couple minutes and you drop the wire down from the top and you're done. Even with the booster you've only spent $80? Without having to deal with loss.

That's not saying I don't like the Shield.. it's just... too soon.

Well, that third one is gonna be kinda tough for me since I don't have any Steam friends. :) Never have seen the point since I generally play alone. (even in MMORPGs)

That wouldn't get close to routing a cable 2 stories down and on the other side of the house.

Even if you could, your Xbox controller wouldn't reach.. And what about those mouse and keyboard games ? Have fun making that connection two stories apart.

You really should make more Steam friends. I've found out about some of the best deals/glitches from being notified by friends.

I think in his scenario I think you would be running cable through the walls/ceilings.

 
You would run it through the attic over to the wall the TV is on and then down that wall. But why isn't moving the PC an option?

Not that easy on an exterior wall due to insulation and through multiple floors. It's not an option because it wouldn't look good in the living room and because I work from home at times. While playing games from the couch is great, doing actual work is better at a desk.
 
Hmm.  Found this in my list of unused codes.  It is for Afterfall Insanity which was yanked from Steam.   Code seems a bit long and I have no idea if it works but hey give it a try.  Good luck random seasonal.

We just have a 6 year old laptop that we don't really use for anything else hooked up to the big tv in the living room and use Steam's built-in home-Streaming when we want to play out there.

I can see how someone who doesn't have something like that could get some use out of the shield though.

Although, I'd probably have went with something like the Pipo X7 or Intel Compute Stick if I didn't have that laptop just sitting on a shelf somewhere and felt the need to stream.

So it seems to be, you get 1 card for joining a new game after it resets daily, 1 card for killing the boss at level 10(or maybe any level) and 1 card for joining a friends game.
 
I've had my eye on Dominions 4 for a while now.  It looks interesting, but how the heck does that game have an MSRP of 34.99?  It looks like maybe a 20 dollar game, tops.      Maybe I'll try out Dominions 3 for 2.99 and see if I even like that kind of game.

Ugh to those flashes.

On another note, Squeenix sent me an email, already taking PC pre-orders for the new Hitman (apparently just called Hitman), release date 12/8 of this year. I'd be surprised if they hit that date, but that'd be cool.

Mini metro is a pretty fun game...

it's also not worth $5. Also looks like you might still be able to play it through the browser (for free)? Wouldn't let me on Chrome but know in the past I played a lot of Mini Metro while in class.

 
Did anyone else notice this?  I about peed myself trying to see if Dragon Age 2 was re-listed on Steam.

Hah. I was about to post this as well. I think some Valve employee dipped into the this-game-abandoned-us image folder. The image link is http://store.steampowered.com/sale/dragonage_199 (which doesn't exist). All of the others list an app ID. Is that a whoops or intentional?

It's definitely the most entertaining maddening thing to be included that I might have bought in this round of flash sales.

The games have a loyal but small following and I think they depend more on loyalty and higher pricing than numbers sold. It is super tough to get into especially if you want to do multiplayer and be competitive. There is a 400 page printed manual available for Dom 4 and the long term players highly suggest buying that as well. I tried to get into it and good lord I had no clue what I was doing. If I ever try again I will actually pick up the manual but that just seems like more effort than I want to put into it right now. The depth to the game is pretty insane once you start reading up on it. There are players with thousands of hours of played time on Steam and from reading the forums a bit I gather a lot of them were playing it before it was on Steam as well. So yeah, it is one of those games. I might never have the patience for it even though I find it interesting.
