This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I swear, the Twitch chat channel for the main summer game stream must be the biggest gathering of dorks, nerds and weirdos this side of a Star Trek convention.

So, heads up. Someone is going through the forum and adding people.

http://steamcommunity.com/id/trickgas ( http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561197980112293 )

He added me saying that he was looking for people from CAG to play or trade with, but he has nobody in common with me. His SteamID also pointed to various aliases.

And this guy, a level 1 account, apparently registered recently, and is now a private account.

So be careful.
it is me , LOL

i was testing see if they actually removed my restriction after i purchased $5 min for steam. so i can send friend request n stuff

So, on the one hand you didn't get a fancy new PC to play 'pixel graphic' stuff like Mark of the Ninja but on the other you're put off having to spend $5 on Steam? If you just bought a PC to play F2P shit you should have just stuck to consoles.

i probably should have, i am just waiting for the aaa big titles to hit the $5 mark. most of the aaa title that are around the $5 mark, i already played on my consoles already.

Anyone like the Risen or Gothics or Arcanias for the price?  I thought when they came out they all got mediocre reviews for RPG side... but not seeing anything else that is worthy of the nibble.

ive decided to add some of you CAG people on steam since I spend so much time with you here.... deny me if you like
I don't advise accepting this request. You know why. trap

Also, where is my friend request? Y u do dis Ackbar?

Edit - You have redeemed yourself by inviting me.

Still a trap.

Thanks!

I too am curious because I don't own anything from the Arcania + Gothic Pack ($7.49). Is Risen 3 Complete worth the extra $2.50?

This sale has sure made me ponder and ask a lot of questions.

i was caught up in the steam sales hype. but now i invested too much into building my pc to go back to consoles.
Then use your new found discovery of PC gaming and try some games. Broaden your horizons a bit. You wrote off Mark of the Ninja and its hardly a "indie looking" pixel-graphic game or whatthefuckever you deemed it. If you don't like platforming or stealth, then at least its understandable. There's far more out there than just big monster multimillion dollar budget games to play and you can get just as much fun (and even more) out of them. For someone new to PC gaming with a new rig, there is literally a ton of stuff you could be playing on the cheap. PC gaming is a lot broader than console gaming. There's more variety and you owe it to yourself to give things a try. Believe me, I was a console peasant and wrote off PC gaming around 05, Ive not looked back since I switched platforms for good in 2010.

I've only played Gothic and Risen 1. They were both good, but flawed games. I enjoyed my time with them but probably wouldn't ever replay either of them. The gothic universe for 4 bucks is more than worth the price for what you get, not sure how much the risen games are right now. Personally if I were you I'd buy risen 1 and the gothic universe, definitely play risen 1 and if you like that play the gothic games.

Ah Hackbar's game list brings a tear to my eye. Reminds me when I had like 30 games on Steam and actually played them all except for one terrible indie game I once got in a Steam bundle. Now my monstrosity of a games list and idling for cards....

I know only 1,123 games and havent really bought much in the summer sale. I'm a CAG failure!

Hey, it comes out to 21 cents.
That's like 21 Metro LL's.

EDIT:

Hrmm...

As previously stated, Bloodlines is a fantastic game. That ghost house still scares the crap out of me because I somehow ALWAYS end up playing that level when it's 2 am and the lights are out.

Warmachine... Warmachine... I just don't know... I've been tempted to nibble a few times (since I enjoy the TT but don't have time). The DLC is just a bit much though. I'm just not sure. It's being passed through the "will I want to buy this before the next sale and thus pay more" filter in my head.
The ghost house is one of my favorite levels of all time.

I also love the plot-line involving the Two Sisters working at The Asylum, as well. The end of that plot-line the first time I experienced it, was just mind-blowing and jaw-dropping.

How often does GMG have sales on the entire Elder Scrolls and Fallout series? I don't think I'm going to buy the games from Steam, got enough games to play.

I declined you because I was on autopilot and saw the "Level 0" before the "6 friends in common" but feel free to sling another invite at me if ya want.
