A Finnish teenager who claimed responsibility for the cyberattack that brought down Xbox Live and PlayStation Network last year has been convicted of more than 50,000 instances of cybercrime.

His punishment, according to Finnish media, is a two-year suspended prison sentence and a requirement to speak out against cybercrime.

Published reports said Julius Kivimaki, 17, known as "zeekill" online, was part of the Lizard Squad group whose denial-of-service attack over the Christmas holiday culminated a monthlong war with another hacker group. Lizard Squad members justified the attacks saying "chaos is entertainment," in a short email to Polygon at the time.

Both United Kingdom and Finnish authorities made arrests soon after the attacks, which were substantial enough that PlayStation Network later offered subscription extensions, purchase discounts and other premiums to compensate members for the lost time.

At the time of the January arrests, reports suggested Kivimaki faced four months to four years in prison.

The Daily Dot spoke to a victim of Kivimaki's online harrassment, who said he was "absolutely disgusted by the ruling." The victim, an American, said Kivimaki called in false threats that sent American law enforcement to his home, and demanded the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation step in.

also i never got a message from sony about the ps+ book they were gonna give out. I have wipeout and fieldrunners (lol) from the first month of ps+ and been a member ever since, so hopefully i get one of those nice lil books. Iv still got my legendary avatar and my playstation shirt, not to mention all these houseparty stuff

try coop. it's cocktail table style. your thumbs are nearly on top of each other. totally doable though (with two competent people).

edit - I just cruised through so I could get the collector and make life easy. Now I need to go back and 3 star stuff.

Looks like you can get the trophies off of the shitty easy AI in Rocket League for those of you who want to plat it ASAP and move on.

EDIT: If they're not hitting it to your own fucking goal.

EDIT2: Lame. Can't even play online yet.

Same thing happened to me. Got shot and then got stuck.

I wish there were even less riddler trophies. At least it seems to be a small improvement over City, in that regard.

I saw a lot of people in Europe who already had almost 90% of the trophy points, so I assumed the AI must have been the cause since the online was supposedly down.

I'll do the same if only because selling the last game's watch made the game free.

I'm surprised at what they sell for now considering what a plastic piece of junk it was.

PS: I'm happy they're not just abandoning this series for what seems to be the more successful Danganronpa.

You should join the PSNOT tournament since you don't have to worry about the completion.

Also I just went ahead and picked it up on PSN since my friend also wanted to play it. Let me know whenever you need me (not tonight though).

I am not too worried about the completion for Rocket League but since I am for PayDay I did not want to join the tournament since it is my priority right now.

Yeah the last watch was an easy sell. I ended up with the green watch and sold it for $90. I'll be ordering this tonight.
 
Finished my Normal play through of Guacamelee STCE. Fun game. I went back to get a chest in the Great Temple and got it, but is there no way to get out of the temple without going all the way to the end and using the teleport?
 
To break the grind of FFX leveling/trophy cleanup, I thought I'd start FF13-2.

I literally don't even the beginning. The graphics are worse, there's stutter and slowdown all over the place, and the story is as if the team sat around a table stoned, made shit up, and decided to run with it as a game, with zero regard for anything that happened in the first game.

Already got a trophy for it, though, so I'm all in!

 
Yeah rocket league is easy. I guess. Should be fun playing online with you guys once its up. I guess I will try some more deadly premonition now. I am sure I will fall asleep pretty quickly though.
 
Just finished Heavenly Sword. Solid game. First game issues with mechanics and the like a bit, but really nice combat system, fantastic VA work (Nariko is played by the main character of Fringe, and the main villain is the guy that did Gollum,) and good characters/story. The framerate gave me some issues especially during the last battle (audio would drop in and out a bit, too), but that was the only real issue I had.

Better game than God of War 1, IMO, so I'm kinda bummed that Heavenly Sword didn't turn into a series like GoW did. Though then again the story kinda did
end on a final note, so I'm not sure where they would have taken it. Nariko was definitely the star, not the sword, so moving on to another character would have been iffy.
They did have a trilogy planned, though, and I'm curious what that would have been like.

I really don't get why games like this never end up on PSN with a trophy list. It can't be that much work and the game must have gone out of print years ago. Having it on PSN and throwing sales out on occasion would have at least kept some money running in for the title, which it does deserve.

HS was my first Ninja Theory game. It's gotten me a lot more excited about playing Enslaved, DmC, and even Hellblade despite there not being any gameplay footage for that yet.

Anybody watch the animated movie? Worth checking out?

 
Enslaved was one of my favorite games of the last generation. With games like the Last of Us out now (especially remastered) it's not quite as pretty as it seemed back when it was released but the animations are still nice and it's still a very colorful game. The platforming is fun and the combat is adequate. The acting is good, as well (Andy Serkis aka Gollum plays the lead).

Hard to go back to a nearly decade old game like Heavenly Sword but it might inspire me to give DmC a try.

Heavenly Sword is short (~7 hours) and cheap. I got it in a 3 for $10 sale at GS. Worth checking out despite the age, IMO.

Damn. I was going to play Enslaved on PS3, but it looks like it has pretty bad framerate. Online video shows it as hovering around 20-24 FPS some of the time. How well does it play?

 
I've played it on both consoles and can't recall any frame rate problems that would make it unplayable. I could be looking back at it with rose tinted glasses, however.

I played it earlier this year, and it played perfectly fine for me.

 
Wow I just played some coop on the vita and it really difficult. Using the buttons and stick on each side is really awkward. Probably even worse if you have fat fingers.

I fucking love zero escape. VLR has some of the best story ever in a game and freaking awesome tieing in the game mechanics and the plot. The guy who made the trophy guide on ps3t.org was awesome too with flowcharts and everything. Id be in day 1 but considering we eventually got the last for free ps+, i think i should try and wait.

also Tripp and Monkey from Enslaved were a great couple. My girl loved the banter even on par with uncharted sully/drake levels.
