i had the same problem with robin. i waited about 2 weeks and it was still showing "shipping label created". i contacted them after that and they expedited another robin to me.

HR, are these guys for real? Gunpei Yokoi was the Janitor at some point I believe, and he was one of Nintendo's greatest assets, EVER! So maybe this guy will deliver the goods, but if this is the best they can come up with, I'm not to hopeful. They need to go outside this company and find someone, as everyone within has been "tainted" by the old guard, and will more than likely operate the same way.

 
Is anyone else's Wal-Mart order still processing? I assumed mine would have shipped by now (or been cancelled) since it is supposed to arrive at the store on Thursday. Either way, I'm going Amiibo hunting today and if I run across the three that I ordered from Wal-Mart (Zero Suit Samus, Olimar, Ganondorf) I'll pick them up just in case my order does get cancelled.

Mine was in processing status all day Friday and was marked as shipped on Saturday. I tried to cancel Friday night after I secured all of the amiibo at TRU and was told it was too late.

What frustration? I have every US released amiibo to date, 1st prints, sealed and I barely had to raise a finger to acquire them all with the ability to pre-order or drive to a store. All you have to do is know when they are releasing. This wave was the easiest of them all to get.

My TRU got well over 30 of each character, as opposed to past waves where they got 3-4 of each character, and I waltzed into gamestop at 10am on release day and they had plenty also.

If anything, the biggest hurdle isn't getting the amiibo but dealing with the stench of no-life having, bottom feeding losers that haven't taken a shower in days and are in these stores on release day. Sorry but if someone smells like that, they have much bigger problems and probably shouldn't be buying amiibos when they could be investing in some soap. I typically just smack them around with my strong pimp hand when they get in my way but I always make sure to wash my hands right after the encounter.

Mine is still processing, though I did get an email about it being delayed for some reason.

 
Also have an order "processing" at Walmart.  I was going to just cancel it, but, it shows it can't be canceled.  I'll likely just return it (or not pick it up at the store) when it arrives.

That's a damn shame because that mega mushroom is a lot of fun to play with. I wasn't aware that it was only usable in the SMB1 mode but still it completely changes the dynamics of the game. Everyone who said this was really minor disc locked content really had no fucking idea what they were talking about; this power-up changes the game more than any other one available. It allows you to lay out your levels in completely new ways and it makes you think about things that would normally be a non-issue (such as how many times you can jump, since each jump destroys the blocks under you).

Now that I've played with it I'm pissed that I know so few online levels will make use of it because nobody can access the damn thing. It's like a whole new game mode that the vast majority of the playerbase will never get to experiment with, and the community is the real loser there.

It is really, really shitty of Nintendo to lock this content. To add insult to injury is the fact that using the amiibo doesn't unlock it permanently like it does for the skins; you need to re-tap the amiibo every fucking time you start a new level, so borrowing it once from a friend is out of the question. If this is the direction Nintendo is headed WiiU will be the last console I buy from them; as shitty as the DLC on PS4/XB1 is at least I don't have to be at the store at 10AM to even have a shot at getting it.

Pre-orders don't help when they go online at 2AM (like Wal-mart did for this wave) and/or disappear in minutes, and a store getting 2-3 Marths doesn't help when the first no-life having, bottom feeding loser you mentioned lines up 6 hours early and buys out the entire stock (that's exactly why I don't have a Meta Knight now). And that's if the employees don't break the rules and steal them (which seems to be what happened to my Shulk AND Captain Falcon whom I've also been unable to replace).

This wave was the best one overall, but still.... I arrived at the local TRU 15 minutes after opening and grabbed the next to last Bowser Jr, and while the local Best Buy seemed stocked on the 8-bit Mario it was still gone within an hour. It is really nice being able to complete a wave for once. Many of us have a life outside of Nintendo so we can't be at every opening every time; something really needs to give.

BTW if anybody is interested I uploaded a level I threw together yesterday making use of the Mega Mushroom. If anybody wants it let me know and I'll give the the levels friend code (ugh); that way you can download it and modify it so you can play with the Mega Mushroom without the amiibo. The downside to that is that you won't be able to upload your levels so the community won't benefit, but at least you'll get to use it to make levels to play locally, see what it does, and decide if it's worth tracking down the amiibo to use in your uploaded creations.

I can't oversell it enough, it really is a fun power-up and it changes the game dynamics more than any other power-up available. Certainly not the minor DLC half this forum tried to make it out to be. It's a really shitty move to lock it behind the amiibo paywall, especially when said amiibo couldn't be found anywhere an hour after the stores opened.

I'm still waiting for Robin and Lucina to get a restock from their pitiful launch numbers since I missed them both at launch (despite making them my number one targets of that wave).  Patiently waiting....

Is there a web site that lists all the Amiibos and the stuff they do in various games? That actually might influence which ones I get (of the more common ones).

I have no idea what they do in Super Mario Maker but my son thinks every Amiibo unlocks something. That doesn't seem to right to me - guess I could google it... (Edit: looks like they unlock "costumes" that can otherwise be unlocked by doing an in-game challenge).

Nintendo's site isn't updated for Mario Maker yet, but it's a lot more user-friendly than most of the other articles that I've seen that try to cover exactly what each amiibo does.

Yes it is. I don't have the link on-hand but the amiibo section of the digital manual includes a link that opens the web browser to Nintendo's site and lists the amiibo compatible for each game, including Super Mario Maker.

In short, it looks like the entire SSB line (besides the Mii fighters), the entire SMB line, and the Splatoon amiibos unlock costumes. I was surprised to see it said the Chibi Robo amiibo was compatible too.

I had originally posted this in the Mario Maker thread, but for those who who own the game and not the 30th Anniversary Mario Amiibo, here is the "friend code" for a level I created which I feel makes effective use of the special Mario mushroom DLC as a gameplay mechanic. I feel that most people in this thread probably want the Amiibo as a collectible regardless of it's functionality, but if nothing else, this should give you an idea of how the bonus mushroom works and the types of levels you can create with it.

I have received a $20 gift card from them in the past for a $25 tripod that was slightly damaged, and got to keep the tripod. Anyway, it arrived. It had air pouches inside but not enough to keep it from moving around during shipping as you could shake it in the box. Luckily it only had very slight damage to both bottom corners of the cardboard backing. Not bent, but frayed/coming apatt slightly if that makes sense. Like the cardboard was separating from itself. Not enough for me to contact them about, but will be hesitant to order from them again due to other stories/pics I have seen.

It depends where they ship from. The IL shipping center has gotten me perfectly packed and undamaged items. Watch out for the AZ one though.

Target is by far the worst when it comes to packing, and only worse when it comes to taking responsibility for it. They just don't care.
 
On Friday I went to Target at 7:35 and was fifth in line.  I only needed the 30th Anniversary Mario.  I figured I would grab a ZSS as well.  Some guy reached around the person in front of me from the opposite side and grabbed the last ZSS on the endcap but there were more down in the Amiibo section.  I got those two and left.  They had a lot of Dr. Mario.

I was in Best Buy today and they still had some of the new wave in stock.  I was surprised.
