Yeah I know, I don't use the Xbox One all that much so I'd like to be able to download the game & play it later on when I do buy an active Xbox Live membership. Looking through Google says I just need to have a Gold Membership on my gamertag I downloaded it first with an active Gold in order to play.

Dude, just buy a 12 month membership. They're $30 in box deals or here. More convenient.
