Probably because it sold out so quickly at Best Buy so if you weren't online in that 12 hour or so window you likely missed even hearing about it.

Only CE items I have held on to are the two Destiny ones and art books from other ones. Usually sell the statues as I have no place to hoard those kinds of things.

Yeah, the Destiny CE has more meaning to me now that they've gotten rid of Dinklage. I liked his performance quite a bit better than Nolan North's, so at least I get to hear it again with that talking Ghost.

I think North in the expansion is done really well but yea North in vanilla Destiny is pretty bad at times.
 
My new MGS V ps4 system won't display to the TV.  It just says "mode not supported" on my Samsung and "unsupported signal" on my Sony TV.   After doing some troubleshooting and some web searching, I can't seem to find the issue.  I tried a pair of TVs, a pair of HDMI cords, and my old US ps4 power cord and couldn't get it running on the television.

Did anybody else have this issue? or know what the deal is?

Found something. Hold down power till 2cnd beep. That boots to safe mode. Select change resolution. This will reboot the ps4 at 720p. This should get you to boot. Then you can change tip 1080p. See if that helps.

Did you swap out the HDD?

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried. It wouldn't boot in safe mode. It also wouldn't boot normally. On the second TV set I got the playstation logo to pop up once for a few seconds on a normal boot, but then it wouldn't boot either way on this set either.

update: It seems like it may be an issue with resolution detection by the PS4. I finally got the PS4 to work (with the old hard disk) on a third television. I downloaded the system update and checked the setting and saw it is on automatic detection for displays. The next step is to unplug it and get it working on the older big screen TV. After that, back to the HD swap and try again.

(I was also using a FAT32 formatted thumbstick drive in order to put the newest system update onto the hard drive. But that also didn't work)

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what happens if your import system fails? Can you just send it in to be repaired at the facility of the country you're in or do you have to send it to the repair facility of the original the system was released in?

Yeah same thing happened to me when I swapped my HDD to 2tb. To fix this make sure you have a usb with the current update. Boot the PS4 in safe mode and update. Once you update your PS4 everything should be fine. The tricky part is updating the system with the mode not supported. Yes I updated without knowing what the hell was happening on screen.

So your basically doing all these step at the 11:30 mark blind except for initialize the PS4. My PS4 just asked If I want to update right away so I didn't have to do the initialize step:

-So basically boot the PS4 in safe mode with a usb with the current update files.

-Press the PS button to sync the controller.

-Move right on the dpad and click x

- Maybe wait for 5 minutes and move right on the dpad and click x again. This should start the update process, once it is finished your PS4 should turn off and on again.

It is some sort of flukey display issue.

Damn that is weird. My worked fine until I swapped HDD, that's when I got the mode not supported screen. Once I updated it with the latest firmware it was fine. I did all the update on the mode not supported screen since safe mode didn't give me display either.. Hopefully just a simple update will fix your issue.

Got the MGS V console up and running with 2 TB storage!  The older (and still awesome) Sony Bravia XBR (like 8 years old and still looks incredible) would not detect the display. It wouldn't have been possible for me to get the console working without using the newer TV.

The other issue was I was using the oft-linked download to the system update files was the partial 300mb file for current users.  You actually need the other link to the larger 785mb file that includes the HDD formatting.  A lot of walkthroughs, FAQs, and parts of the Sony site link you to just the update and not the full install.

I had the same problem of the resolution. Before and after HDD swap to 2TB. What I did was use my monitor that has a HDMI port. I plug the PS4 to the monitor and it boots up. Installed the new update firmware and booted to home screen then I swapped to my TV. Worked ever since. I couldnt figure it out also. Googled it and said about holding down the power button hearing 2 beeps. That didnt work. So i just grabbed my monitor and problem solved.

Problem is I don't shop enough at BB to get free release shipping so that was my only free shipping option. My Batman experience was at Fenton so I thought I'd give South County a shot since Shrike always talks about how good it is there.

I had the same problem of the resolution. Before and after HDD swap to 2TB. What I did was use my monitor that has a HDMI port. I plug the PS4 to the monitor and it boots up. Installed the new update firmware and booted to home screen then I swapped to my TV. Worked ever since. I couldnt figure it out also. Googled it and said about holding down the power button hearing 2 beeps. That didnt work. So i just grabbed my monitor and problem solved.

Damn I should have done that instead, but I got it updated without bricking my system anyway so I guess that's good.

I thought you had a bad issue at SoCo and not Fenton? I only go to Fenton if they're the only store that has an item I need, since the CS reps there are serious jr detectives about returns and trade-ins.

SoCo, always have great customer service for whatever reason I go in there. I always shop there unless they don't have the item I'm looking for.

 
What's the likely hood of Gamestop restocking The Taken King CE for PS4. I really regret not ordering one and I can't find any local stores with extra copies. I could order the Xbone edition for all the goodies and then sell the disc + codes since I don't have an Xbone but is it even worth doing that? Especially since I want the steelbook and all the other junk. Prices seem high for the individual pieces so not sure how I should handle this.

Just out of curiosity, how exactly were you planning on ordering an Xbox One version? It's sold out just like the PS4.
