Shrike posted the link and price for the benefit of every other member here and your response to Shrike's post was a bit condescending since it sounded like you assumed Shrike was posting that for your benefit, when in fact he was giving a heads up to everyone else here who hadn't just purchased it after it came back in stock. I know I would have specifically been interested in the price since BB tends to jack the price up after an item initially went on sale. So no you weren't selfish for giving everyone a heads up that it was back in stock, but your response to Shrike posting the link and price left a lot to be desired.

Considering shrike constantly harasses the dude I'm not surprised he responded in that way to him. Shrike didn't need to quote him and make it look like he was responding to him but could have just made a separate post altogether. Could he have posted the link? Sure. He also could have just bought it and moved on without even saying anything here as well.

Shrike provided both a learning opportunity to one and a convenience to many. I appreciate when links are posted, especially considering this particular steelbook is/was of interest to many. If anything, Shrike kept it respectful this time by simply enhancing the steelbook availability post. There was zero harassment in that initial post; only details and the link. It was the 'I know that' that got this ball rolling downhill.

That being said, I missed out on it this time. Closest one is 90 miles away. It's not a big time want but I have yet to buy the standard movie so the steelbook window is still open for me. I'll keep on the lookout. Thanks for sharing that it was back.

 
I forgot that Southpaw was coming out next week and I received emails from both Target.com and BestBuy.com that my orders on each site have shipped out.

Best Buy is now showing $19.99 for Southpaw online, so I'm assuming that's the price it'll be in the next week ad for release.    Target is showing the steelbook online for $22.99, so even with RedCard discount, it'll be cheaper at Best Buy.

What might make sense is to PM the Best Buy price at Target if you have a RedCard, as you'll get it for $18.99 after the PM and RedCard discount.

I love those Pixels lenticular slips, and even the Pixels Best Buy Metalpak, but the lack of the 3D version in all of them is gonna cause me to skip them barring a sale.  The 3D version is on sale for $22.99 at Best Buy, which I'm highly tempted by though.  The movie itself was good as a mindless popcorn flick.  I saw it over the summer and was entertained by it.

If you did, I missed it, though since the OP is a trainwreck these days for correct info, I know now to check there. I posted the link to be safe, though since I has a $5 RZ cert, I picked up the BB metalpack as an in-store pickup pre-order.

I've found that checking reviews on the 3D version versus the 2D version has steered me more times to a metalpack/steelbook 2D version than the 3D version than I'd thought. Here's another one for comparison:

There's been a couple movies semi-recently where I do want to get the 3D version at some point to match the 2D steelbook I picked up (Transformers 4, Mad Max, plus some others), though I can wait on the cheap for those.

It wasn't as big a bomb as Pan or Fant4stic, but it was one of the worst reviewed movies of the year. Though most people consider it just generically bad, not historically bad.

Here's a good litmus test. In this movie, Kevin James is the President of the United States and one of the characters gets together with Q-Bert, who turns into a hot nameless chick for no reason. If you can accept those things at face value, you will like the movie.

It's not going to win an Academy Award, but it's a fun, brainless, movie. There's also a bit of a nostalgia factor to it regarding some of the older games.

Wreck-it Ralph and Smash Bros are far better sources of nostalgia.

I'll grant that it's far from the worst Adam Sandler film ever. It's not Jack & Jill bad. But it still features Peter Dinklage winning a Pac-Man championship via cheat code, Adam Sandler winning by cheating, the bad guys giving up for no reason, and Q-Bert turning into a nameless hot chick just to give the unfunny pervert comic relief a love interest!

Futurama did the concept 1,000 better. And I will believe that a floating head of Nixon will be President long before I will believe Kevin James can be President. Especially since he doesn't play the character any different than he does any other Kevin James role.

Pixels was awful. It's horrendously boring, and not a single thing in this so-called "comedy" made me laugh. Save your money and watch this for free if you can, like I did. Alternatively, skip watching this even for free, and watch these video reviews which are funnier than anything you will see in Pixels:

FYI, I don't think Best Buy will drop the price of the Ant-Man 3D SteelBook because the pre-order cards in-store are coming up as the same price.  Hopefully I'm wrong, because I'm on the fence about getting this movie as it wasn't the best Avengers Cinematic Universe movie for me this year. :)

 
Ran by Target this morning, no sign of the steelbook anywhere.  Rep in store checked and didn't find it in his system, even when I told him it was featured in the weekly ad.

What a waste of time.

This one isn't showing as available for in-store pickup on Target.com, though this is the DPCI # for it:

Store Item Number (DPCI): 058-37-1196

There is no regular one listed on Target's website, so in theory, they're all steelbooks. :bomb:   In-store at my local store, they were showing as $24.99 by the shelf tag and they were all Amaray/non-steelbook versions.    My store even shows them as being available on Target.com, so who the fuck know what's going on with that store.   Most of the the stores in my area aren't showing them either.   Fyndly shows all the stores in my area having 6-33 of them, with most stores having 16+ of them.   There's a store on the way home that is showing 20 of them, so I may run by there and see what they have.

At this point, I'm not sure if we have another "steelbook and Amaray share the same DPCI" or not, though hopefully people won't have an issue with finding it in-store and I just have braindead staff in my store.

Don't forget the 10% Cartwheel coupon.

You should call first before going to target and also if you're buying the steelbook online use a 10% off coupon Cartweel for online and then when you get it take it in the store and use the 10% off cartweel app coupon in store that's what I'm doing I should be getting my copy Wednesday I also pm the 19.99 from the target ad because it was showing up on bestbuy.com for 22.99

From what you are describing it does sound like both versions share the same DPCI. Makes it harder to search for but on the plus side, if the standard version ever goes on sale so will the steelbook.

That's the impression I had from the Target rep who was acting like the Amaray version was it, regardless of what the ad said.

I have the copy I ordered from Best Buy show up today, so I may just keep that one and not worry about dealing with Target. The copy from Target.com I ordered said it shipped on Friday, though it looks like it'll be a day or two before it shows up.

Anyone actually get a Southpaw steelbook from Target yet?  My order from Target.com is supposed to be delivered today, though I'm not sure if it's a steelbook or an Amaray version.  Guess I'll find out when it shows up.

No S1 steelbook for Black Sails, though it did get down to around $20 or a little less since release.

The GoT SBs for S1 and S2 did make it down to $39.99 on Amazon, which I think is a BB price match as they have it for the same price at the moment.

My package showed up from Target.com today, was the AMARAY version! :bomb:

That's going back to the store with a pointed comment to Target Executive Customer Relations.

My BB copy has the previously mentioned printing line issue, so I guess I'll run by there and see if I can exchange it out for another copy.
