Hey, ever wonder why the right don't retaliate with a thread to mock the left? It's because we're actually classy. There you have it. If there were ever a topic created to mock the left, the right wouldn't engage in doing so and the thread would fail. Maybe the left should create a different topic that demonstrates worthy ideas and encouragement - that would be far more 'classy' than a mocking thread.

The thread is quite a mockery towards yourselves - and that's a fact.

Nothing quite as classy as pointing out that your side has all the class and the other side is classless. Honestly your post did the same thing this topic title did. You came in with a chip on your shoulder and enemies in your heart and mind. Class is an open mind and a kind word, its healing a rift not grabbing both sides and pulling as hard as you can. This whole forum is basically a place for classless people, most poitics/vs forums are. Most people who stop in trying to have an intelligent and respectable conversation aint hanging around.

Also jesus christ to the example of a Republican drowning and would we save him......that shows just how far to the right and unreasonable you are. You have divided us from each other so hard that you honestly believe most liberals would not save someone just because their conservative. Time to look in the mirror and your heart man. I think humans are selfish and shitty, I think we divide each other into groups and then treat people outside of our own groups like shit, I believe much of the worst in humanity. But even I dont believe the vast majority of humans would let each other die over what party you vote.

I did answer your question by pointing out the absurdity of believing that most people would fail to save someone just because they were a con/lib. In pointing out that out I made it abundantly clear not only would I save a conservative but I believe most people would save each other without a thought to politics even if you KNEW the persons politics. That you choose to not see this, accuse me of twisting logic and act like its a typical liberal thing to do.....again your showing you are either a troll or so far gone to the right it is impossible to have a reasonable/respectable conversation with you. I love how the governors are behaving regarding to the really grim situation in the Middle East, regardless of the horrible events that happened last week. The rhetoric they spout is practically the same by their predecessors about THEIR ancestors.

Kentucky elected in a Republican governor, who was friends with Kim Davis. He promised to get rid of Kynect, one of the better Obamacare successes, and so he's starting bottom up. Poor residents will have to learn to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, as more of their benefits will be cut as promised by the men they voted into power.  One resident even noted that she doesn't mind because the pitiful benefits they lose will motivated them to find better jobs, which must be at Wal-Mart.

Minimum wage is down, because it's too respectable for any fine resident. And don't think you can go on welfare or Medicaid to get by. We've got to teach those poors a lesson.

Plus, county clerks do not have to have their name appear on the license certificate. There is another snag I can see with that, considering we are still a country that likes minor brides/grooms.

 
The only people I feel bad for are the people who voted against him and the people too young to vote against him. The rest knew what they were getting themselves into when they went to the polls. It's sucks because I have family in KY that I know voted against him, so I hope this doesn't hit them too hard.

 
Did they not have democratic governors run the state for the last 30-40 years? Yet, it is one of the poorest and worst run states. Perhaps it will be better now with a more conservative governor. 

 
You mean the barely more than half majority? Yeah... how easily people forget that Democrats are rarely lockstep like the Republicans. If they were, they'd would've made hell freeze over. You also forget the big buzz about the filibuster rules a few years back. Even if x party controls 60% , the y party could screw everything up with the 40% "majority."

 
But did anybody fix it in the past... six years? Even when there are clear and present problems. And no, repealing it doesn't count.

I've read a lot of comments about how the feds handle these things differently since Waco and Ruby Ridge happened, but we haven't really had a test of black people or muslims having an armed occupation of a federal building. I'd be lying if I thought they'd be treated the same as Bundy and the new batch of clowns.

I can't wait to see what the numbers are like when another Clinton is in the white house when the report on white militant groups comes out. For those that forget there was a surge of membership when Bill Clinton came into office.

Apparently the miltia guys are now driving around federal vehicles from the building. They claim they found the keys but some reporters are questioning if they hot wired the vehicles or broke into the building that had the keys. Again I can not even imagine if this was almost any other group of protesters it going nearly this far.

 
We live in a country that deals brutality for any sign of backtalk. WTF is taking so long with the cops? These guys don't have hostages do they? Oh White Privilege!

I heard on the news yesterdays that out of town deputies were brought in to deal with the tired cops who were up for days. And the cops haven't cut off their electricity?

That is not what anyone is saying. We are just pointing out the hypocrisy that student protesters are blasted with pepper spray as they are yanked to the ground and arrested and black protesters blasted with tear gas as tanks roll out, while white guys WITH LOADED GUNS are not being dealt with in any way.

I do no want the cops out there shooting at these guys. I do want them being told to disperse and see them go to trial for damage done to public goods or weapons they point in the face of police officers. Not unreasonable Bob and not partisan, just basic colorless justice.

 
It is also worth noting that these guys are posting videos to youtube saying good bye to their family and calling for an armed revolution. I dont recall ever hearing Black Lives Matter or Occupy Wallstreet calling for people to arm up and help them overthrow the government. I can not even imagine the hammer that would fall on an armed liberal group calling for revolution.

Urban verse rural?

When you're rioting in an urban area it is a lot more likely that people or property will be damaged as a byproduct. It should be shut down quickly.

And if people really cared, it'd get a lot more coverage. It's almost as if everyone wants it to be a "see... white people do bad stuff too".

You can take a "wait and see" approach when this is going on in a town of 3,000 people. Hard to take the same approach when business are being looted in major metropolitan area. And I'd say it's working... it's getting very little to no press on major networks. People are more interested in the Powerball and Cosby.

And If we want to talk about hypocrisy can we evaluate how Bill Cosby went from being an "Uncle Tom" to a martyr? Or how 100 people can accuse a priest of pedophilia without proof and everyone is on board but 100 woman accuse a black man of rape and it's a setup?

I can not think of once someone went back and forth with him on an issue. He handles "discussions" like a libertarian that just read Ayn Rand for the first time. Light on the substance and facts heavy on the snark and condescension.

Since we're now in politi-gaming-chat mode: Dark Souls 1 & 2 have been fucking my shit up for months. I'm glad I took a break and went to Bloodborne, which is WAY more my speed. Even Demon's Souls didn't frustrate me as much as DS...still determined to beat them though, but I think I'm going to try to finish Last of Us first.

LOL I am sure a kid would help with the whole not posting thing. Just would not help me! I actually got snipped in my mid 20s half to avoid any accidents and half because I felt it was the moral thing to do(too many people on planet, I can adopt later if money provides). You have kids in last few years? Your posting rate sure dropped like it did!

You clearly have more patience and hardcore cred then me. I just cant get into the Dark Souls series, too damn hard and slow paced. I will stick to Citizens of Earth(somewhere Detective Conan is saying hell yeah and doesnt know why) and its bright colorful and easy world ;)

Haha...yeah man, had one in 2014. There are a few politi-CAGs that did too, which I'm guessing had a bit of an impact on the traffic in this sub-forum. I also got a new job in 2013 that doesn't allow me to slack off as much, so I'm doing a lot more reading and a lot less posting across the different forums I'm on.

Adopting a kid is something that's always been in the back of my mind since my father was adopted and I think it be a nice way of honoring him and my grandmother as well as giving a kid some love and something grounded. Money isn't too much of a barrier in terms of supporting another kid, but the costs of adopting one is a little outside our means. Between our commute(eventhough we carpool) and wife's job which requires her to still do work when we get home, we're not really left with a lot of time for our one kid, so despite her wanting another one soon, I just can't justify it in my mind. I'd love to have another kid though and my daughter would be a great older sibling, unlike her parents. :D

The worst thing about DS games is the inability to pause, but the best thing is opening shortcuts so that you don't have to replay an entire level to get to the boss if you die fighting one. Definitely slower placed though. Citizens looks like a pretty fun game. I might have to pick it up!

I feel ya on the kids and finances/time thing. We briefly were thinking we might try to take in a Syrian kid and decided against it in part because my wife has a real lack of time and part our finances are REALLY in a mess right now. Living in Michigan it would be easy to find an organization to adopt/foster a Syrian kid and he would even stand a chance at fitting in to our community. But if the time is not right for one reason or another then its not right period. You are talking about uprooting a child and taking on the responsibility of not just feeding and sheltering them(which is the end of the parenting process for 98% of Americans)but also instilling thoughtful values and BEING there and being never endingly understanding and loving. If you want to really truly be a parent its a huge fucking commitment and a sacrifice. It takes more time then there is in the day just to balance friends, family, work, hobbies and chores/responsibilities. Adding a kid into the mix means dropping a few things. Sadly most people just half ass the whole thing everything and everyone suffers as a result.

As for Citizens of Earth, if you have even a halfway decent PC or laptop its available on steam. Do not know if thats an option but it is how I am playing and I really would be shocked if this game had very high requirements. It is amazingly fun so far. Reminds me a bit of Earthbound crossed with Suikoden. Earthbounds bright, vibrant and goofy world that makes you want to interact with it mixed with Suikodens charcter recruitment is an amazing mix. Toss in that the charcters have some really unique abilities that are fun to play around with and combo together and its just really freaking addicting. There is just something brokenly fun about beating a boss to its last hit or two then having a hero that can make a photocopy of it so you can just keep one hit killing a boss for experience endlessly. Especially when you combo that with the Teacher hero who every turn or two can give a character experience based on an enemies level(its about 50-70% what enemy would give after defeat).
