Maybe they take volunteers? I know wizard does. you work half a day and you get the rest of the day to wander. Not sure in NYCC does. I think they may be reedpop?
Eh, I think I rather pay for a pass. An out of towner from Denver telling anyone where to go at a con he's never been to in a city that I haven't been to since a week before 9-11 happened, would be...awkward.
I think they go on sale early spring. They sell out fast, but not quite SDCC levels.
If you are looking for exclusive merch - there isn't as much at NYCC like SDCC. And as much as I love that exclusive merch I think it is better that way for me. That way I can explore the artist alley without having to run around to every booth trying to get who knows what at opening
I got some sweet commissions and a few pieces of cover art which I like. Once i get them all framed up I wlll post some pictures.
On the topic of comics - is everyone still loving the Wicked an Divine? I'm still floating on the edge of dropping it. I don't understand the love for it as of yet. I thought the premise was cool in the beginning especially with the Baphomet stuff in the beginning, but since then it just seems like random thing after random thing with mostly characters i don't care or really know anything about. Since the big death like 5 issues back it feels like it is just spinning its wheels, but I see so much love for it on places like kotaku and all this talk about how it needs to be a TV show.
Another unpopular opinionI have is that I think Harley Quinn has worn itself out a little. She has pretty much become Deadpool and I miss the slightly more grounded old Harley from pre-New 52. I usually love Harley too. I have three Harley Quinn statues in my house.
And finally for my last unpopular opinion - I think the new Ms Marvel is a good comic, but also think it is being a little overhyped. All the talk about it being the best Marvel comic of this millennium ,etc. I like it. I really really do, just think it is getting over hyped.
Favorites right now are Rat Queens (it has to replace Skullkickers for me), Saga, TMNT (that issue 50!!), Archie, Afterlife with Archie, Chilling Sabrina, Red Sonja an a bunch more. TMNT 50 was awesome but also upsetting to me. Hopefully the next arc is as good as the 50 issues leading up to this was.
Oh yeah - one more unpopular opinion. I'm not super excited by Spider Gwen. I found the series to be kind of ehhh. Just slapping in other Marvel characters together for a "ooooh, Multiverse characters are similar but different"., but I may be persuaded by Gwenpool (I liked Lady Deadpool).
Sweet, that's the info I was basically looking for! Any idea how long the weekend passes sell out? Like is there an hour opening or do I got like a few days before they're all gone?
Also

yeah comic book talk that isn't weekly pick ups...
Wicked+Divine by now I kinda feel like I'm picking up out of force of habit, the problem with the death several issues ago is...well, it kinda exposes how under written and how much you have to fill in the blanks for every character yourself. I Think I enjoy it? I Think? I Mean it has it's moments and I love the style, but it does kinda feel there's way more style than there is substance in the book.
Ms.Marvel I picked up the hardcover when it came out and...it's okay. It kinda feels like every other young hero getting into the hero business kinda Marvel book. It's fun (especially the Wolverine team up), but it isn't the second coming of anything, but I guess fun new comics that are easy to get into is a thing that's getting harder and harder to do is why it gets all the love?
Harley Quinn is one of those characters who needs someone to play off of (a talking stuffed beaver doesn't count), that's the problem I have with the comic and dropped it after four issues. In Injustice, she is

ing perfect since the book is one giant ensemble piece and has so many characters to play around with and different scenarios she can butt in that she would never normally find herself in. DC I feel is trying too hard to make her into their own Deadpool and I think that's the other problem because her character isn't meant for that.
Spider-Gwen is one of those books I feel/know I'd love if it had a better artist. I Love the concept, but...well, that kinda is all it has going for it is just Gwen Stacy as Spider-girl since nothing else is truly fleshed out and things like Frank Castle being a cop out to hunt her and Matt Murdock being a sleazy lawyer for the Kingpin aren't really wow inducing and past all that, I'm still waiting for something in that book to pull me in because I want to like it. I Kinda hope that, that will change with it no longer having to be hindered with Secret Wars and can do whatever it wants or open up more, but we'll see...
Besides that, I am digging on Fight Club 2 (but I love the movie so I am totally biased), but goddamn it feels to get the full story you have to read the "previously on..." in the beginning of each issue since you have to piece alot of it yourself otherwise (like why Marla is going from Club to Club and such). I'm still digging on everything Archie. Silver Surfer I dare argue is the best thing Marvel has going for it. Deadly Class maybe my favorite ongoing. Low was a slow build, but I read them all in one sitting and am hooked since it's like one giant play or opera. Saga is awesome. We Stand on Guard is also awesome. Plutonia is still building up, but enjoying. Paper Girls has potential. Snyder's Batman I'm curious to see where it'll go, but it kinda feels like a waiting game for Bruce to come back. Star Wars the main title is fine, but only other one I'm reading is Shattered Empire and one issue left and I really want to ask if anything at all has happened. And overall I'm reading alot of stuff, mostly Image and Archie these days I want to say.
