Ended up ordering the Samsung UN48J5000 non-Smart TV from amazon instead because the price is about the same as Best Buy and with my wife's Chase Freedom card we get 10% back on amazon purchases (was suppose to be 5%, but they've since put up that they've bumped it to 10%), through the end of the year. Sorry Best Buy. Looked at the reviews and Samsungs SmartTV stuff sucks and besides that not really sure why I need it since a PS4, etc, will be hooked up to it.

 
Got an email from Best Buy that tomorrow starts Black Friday sales for Elite and Elite Plus online. Love getting the Best Buy deals early.

Same here. And I traded in Battlefront, BLOPS 3 and 2 extra games from the Target B2G1 so I've got even more credit stocked for the sales.

The smart TV stuff feels a bit opulent since there's a dozen other devices in the house that can do the same thing. It has been nice though turning on the TV and having amazon instant video up in less than 10 seconds, but it certainly isn't worth sacrificing other stuff for.
 
I'm getting close to finishing all the non-daily challenge stuff for rayman legends and I stand by my assessment that it's a completionism nightmare but is otherwise great. I hope they make another one.
 
The last 2 minutes of the Ravens-Rams sounds painful to watch.  Tied at 13, St Louis misses a 52 yard field goal at 1:41, Ravens miss a 51 yarder at 1:13, Case Keenum fumbles the ball back to the Ravens at 1:00.

Tucker at least hit the 47 yarder for the Ravens to win it.

 
I'm not saying the Panthers aren't good, but they really got lucky with the way the schedule shook out. On top of playing 6 games in the shitty NFC South, they got 4 games against the AFC South and 4 games against the NFC East.

In the case of the Samsung everybody says it's dog slow, including startup time. Might be better on other models.

It is worth it for me since Comcast will not authorize a lot of devices for HBO Go. They will for Samsung TVs though.

In these recent models they've advertised having 4/8 core procs in their tvs which I guess helps. The apps on the Samsung I just got work better than on my ps3 and infinitely better than on my old ass TiVo.

These particular inexpensive models don't have the 4+ core processors. Have to spend more to get that.
 
Well I'm excited to be able to join the 1080p club, even if on the cheap. All the p's! But it's going to be an Xmas gift so I've got to wait a bit longer....
 
Cleaning up a closet tonight, found my old caving helmet with carbide lamp, and drag bag. I use to cave. That was so fun but I'm not skinny like I was then.

Also found the old Atari 5200, but the controllers are shot.

I've only been spelunking once but it was fun. Of course my helmet light started going out when we were down there. That added a bit of tension since it was my only lamp.

One of the rules for caving is the you bring 3 light sources for just that reason. You should never cave with only one light source. That's what the bag is for.

 
Screw Amazon! Canceled that bitch! Target had the same price, but 10% off code cuts the 10% right away, plus 5% off redcard. Zimm, of course, did not tell me about this. No thanks to you, Zimm!

Yeah I saw the bowie/reznor tour as well, ah to be young again. I think the last time I saw NIN was with them and QOTSA. Good stuff. I still miss the old days of seeing bands at smaller venues like the Roseland Ballroom. Seeing Tool there was an experience. I still go to some shows, probably not as many as I'd like to but as a music lover I'll be the 75 year old still going to concerts and flipping the bird to the youngins.

 
The slightly better 850c is now $1800 instead of $2k so I am going to call beatbuy and see if I can switch to the better TV.

Kilik the 850c is going to get an hdr firmware update. Confirmed by Sony. If it doesn't already have it.

I think I'm finally going to dip my toe in the Mass Effect waters. I have a dilemma, though. I've seen nearly everywhere (including here) that the voice actress for female Sheppard is superior to the male Sheppard's VA. It'd allow me to play as something other than myself (or what I'd want to be if I were a space marine or whatever), but how could I be a woman?! And what if I romanced a man?

I never found any issues with the male sheppard voice. I've played through using both and still prefer the dude.

And to answer your question, its just a game. I've banged a bunch of dragon age dudes.
