I'm confused. Some of my PS+ games still have a "buy" button, even though they also have a "start" button. Went over to the Oddworld remake, and it had a start, and it had a buy button, but it's buy button said "free." So... I bought it. (Is this because I own other Oddworld games and the PSOne original or something on PSN?) However, others, like Don't Starve: Console Edition, have a $14.99 Buy button.

What's the deal?

Also, what's with the Drive Club PS+ version? It's not the full game? Glorified demo? Not that I care, because I hate racing games. Just wondering. Also just figured out Infamous: First Light is basically DLC... :)

Not complaining, just confused. I get 10x what I put into PS+ just on discounts, so the "free" games are gravy (and some of them end up being games I was going to buy anyway, or games I would never have bought but really enjoy). (Although it is a bit annoying when I buy something on sale and then it goes free the following month... Kind of wish they wouldn't do that!)

Thanks for the feedback. Only game no one chimed in on was laserlife. i guess no one really played it/has an opinion on it?

Sorry.. I'd been meaning to reply but was always on my phone reading the digest. Suikoden 3 is my favorite Suikoden and one of my favorite PS RPGs, period. I like it even better than Suikoden 2 (and I thought everything after 3 was crap). I'm not saying 3 is the best. I won't make that argument, although I think it could be made. :) It is a fantastic game that did new and unusual things to follow up a fantastic game. If they had made Suikoden 3 the same as 1 and 2, people would have bitched. They changed things around drastically, and people didn't like that either. But it's a great game. Granted I haven't played it since it came out, but I played the hell out of it and was thrilled when it came out on PS3. I can't wait to play through 1-3. They're all three great games, and 3 deserves to be considered great with 1 and 2. My opinion.

Oddworld is a Cross Buy game, so because they released a new version on PS3, they essentially release a new version on PS4 with support for that and make it free to all that purchased it before. It also unlocks the game from PS+ requirements. Don't Starve is similar since they released a Vita version that's Cross Buy with the base game on PS4. There's a list of these types of games in the OP at the bottom of that post, though I need to add a few more games to it.

Driveclub PS+ Edition has a portion of the cars and tracks in it while still letting you earn the platinum if you want. You can also upgrade it to get the rest of the content and any DLC.

Infamous First Light is a full standalone game, not DLC.

Thanks, Frisky. Still slightly confused but much less so.

Ok few questions Id like to know from you guys.  Do you think it would be worth it to trade my NHL16 in now for the 27.50 i can get out of it from Gamestop and go digital since psn has it on sale for 24 right now? Also, Is Rory Mclroy PGA Tour really as horrible as most say? or is there fun to be had for 16 bucks?  And Finally anyone have an opinion on Nom Nom Galaxy for 3.75? Thanks

Unless you want to turn the nhl credit at gamestop into something else I dont see the point. Now if you break even and are able to trade nhl for 24$ or more thats a different story

And Finally anyone have an opinion on Nom Nom Galaxy for 3.75? Thanks
It's a great base sim. I got it at $7 or $14 on sale and it was worth it for me. Got hooked a few days unlocking stuff. It's more entertaining for me searching for ingredients and oxygen plants, but you have to get your base automated to keep in the soup market. Waiting for a Gog version to get it on pc as well (and a sale ^_^).

Need some opinions about the following:

Submerged

Ender of Fire

Astebreed

Adventures Of Pip

Splice

SOMA

The Bridge

Toren

Class Of Heroes 2G

Class of Heroes 2G is digital only really unless you pre-ordered a copy from Gajinworks. It's a pretty generic dungeon crawler that is an updated version of the PSP game.

So noone answered one of my earlier questions? Is rory mclroy golf really that horrible or is it worth giving it a shot for 16? Also ive been thinking about picking up Fifa since for some reason ive been wanting to play some soccor. Is 16 worth getting over 15? Or should i just save some bucks and grab 15

Recommendations of what's on sale:

Adventures of Pip - Played the pre-release demo ages ago and it was a lot of fun. It's an action platformer with the hook being that you play a character that can morph between three graphical styles (Atari 2600, NES, Genesis) that gives you different abilities as needed during each level.

Apotheon - Solid action platformer with a bit of a Dark Souls vibe to its action with weapon durability and a more deliberate pace to the action while being set in a Metroid-style open world. It has an amazing art style and had some framerate issues at launch, though I'm not sure if they've been fixed.

Killallzombies - Great dual-stick shooter that has you killing zombies in a mix of Crimsonland (crowd control and perk upgrades) meets Smash TV (game show kind of vibe and arcadey style).

MouseCraft - Most here probably got it from PS+, but it's a solid puzzle game in the vein of a Lemmings in terms of grid-based placement of items to help a creature get from one end to the other.

Nihilumbra - Fun puzzle platformer based around painting the levels with touch to give parts of the level certain attributes (blue for ice to give you longer jumps). If you want to own it than PS+ "own" it, grab it now. Or don't.

Nom Nom Galaxy - Great 2D Tycoon Sim meets Mining Game. It looks like a Terraria clone, but your focus is building soup production lines, gathering and farming resources for various types of soups, and mining to expand operations and explore. Instead of it being in a big open world, the game breaks the action up into stages that still have quite a bit of land in each area that are still unique in the resources and enemies that are around.

Rainbow Moon - Solid strategy RPG that has an open world where enemies roam to let you avoid battles or grind if you want, though it leans more of needing you to grind to get far in it. The battle system is grid based like you'd expect from an SRPG.

Roundabout - Irritating Stick with ridiculous FMV as you play a limo driver that rotates to get around the town to complete missions and cause mayhem along the way.

Soldner-X & 2 - Very good side-scrolling shooters in the vein of Gradius and R-Type with an upgrade system similar to Gradius and a unique chain system of comboing attacks and weapon switching to get power-ups and other bonuses quicker. Get the bundle with both games.

Splice - Tough puzzle game about gene splicing into the specified structure from the Auditorium devs.

Super Motherload - Fun mining game where you pilot a ship to mine out Mars' resources in kind of a Dig Dug-style, though it has a combo system where mining certain types of resources in a certain order turns it into more valuable resources. It's kind of a mix of Dig Dug, SteamWorld Dig, and Lunar Lander (ship flies when not mining). It also has a neat story.

The Swapper - Recommended this a few times before. Fantastic puzzle platformer in the vein of Portal in terms of satisfaction when you figure out the solutions in each puzzle room.

Velocity Ultra - Fantastic shooter where your ship can warp around and they've designed some great levels around that mechanic.

I really enjoyed Rory. It's not as deep as tiger woods on PS3 when it comes to career modes. But they added more courses and the presentation is top notch. I'd buy it at $16 if you're a golf fan. If you're not I'd wait for Sony's PS4 golf game.

Reply hazy - Watch some streams and try again.

Gonna disagree on Rainbow Moon. I thought it was pretty subpar for TRPGs -- extremely grindy, progression feels slow, and repetitive. If you actually want to play a TRPG, most TRPGs are better.

Thinking about using my 20% coupon on the sale, and Armello is tempting me. I really should just wait for a 50% sale or something, since it'll be awhile before I get to it. Also tempted on Nuclear Throne, but I'm more likely to play that soon, and it's cheaper....

Well its still a decent game, but the combat system was too wonky and as people have said the 3 viewpoints thing wasn't handled that well. Still it is a Suikoden game so its prety good. The only one that was truly terrible was 4.. that was just shit.

not sure how anyone can think its better than 2 but to each his own i guess =P

Rebel Galaxy, the space capital ship combat game from the developers of Torchlight, is out on PS4 this week.
Exciting! Add it to the "wait for it to be free or on sale" list for me... :) Might break down for something like Elite, though.......

1) I said I like it best, not that I necessarily think it's better. :)

2) I do disagree about the combat system being wonky; it is different from 1 and 2, but it's not wonky.

3) I also disagree about the 3 viewpoints not being handled well. What other game, up to that point, had done a better job? You'd have to dig pretty hard.

I think the viewpoints system only seems bad at the beginning when the 3 stories have yet to go their own ways so we're forced to see some of the same scenes multiple times (like the village at the beginning) while getting little additional insight. Once the three parties start going to different corners of the region, things pick up. Plus it helped in getting you to try out even more characters than normal since you never could rely on the same party.

I agree with you that the combat was underrated. I think it added a lot of new elements that made the combat more interesting than the standard turn based system of the previous entries. The skill system brought additional customization allowing you to build up more characters and combinations. The formation system brought some strategy in party composition, giving you some incentive to more carefully choose your party of 6, like having a tank to protect your mage/healer. The seventh support character also added to the strategy when choosing a party. Chant times changed the dynamic of always having an incentive to use your strongest magic right away since it has a chance of being interrupted. The area magic attacks also forced you to think before you cast, especially as it most affected the eventual "main" character's spells.

Not all of it was perfectly implemented, but it did add elements that I think helped make it a more interesting game, and I believe things like the formations, skill system, and support character all making it into Suikoden V helped that game immensely.

For people that don't know, this has the space equivalent of ACIV Black Flag's ship combat in it.
While well received in PC, I'm not entirely sold on this. Guess I've been craving a good space dogfighting game. This looks good but from what I've read is more managing crew and resources. The combat itself is handled by AI if I'm understanding it right.

That said, I know there's a lot of people who will probably get into it. I just got overly excited hearing Torchlight devs and space combat in the same sentence. Just don't think it's up my alley.

Nope, there are a handful of slots for weapons to attach to the ship with a turret on top that can be set for manual or autofire and some bigger weapons on the sides that you can aim like the cannons in ACIV Black Flag.
