They added Heavenly Sword and White Knight Chronicles to the PS Now sub, which is cool to see the non-digital stuff appearing on there. It just needs Folklore, Resistance 1/2, MotorStorm and Pacific Rift, and some of the other first party retail-only games to add to that group.

Thinking about PS Now, they should incorporate it into PS Plus. As a PS Plus subscriber you can "check out" one PS Now game at a time, maximum 2 a month to play at your leisure without subscribing. It strengthens Plus, gets you into first party games and justifies what has to be a fledgling service by now.

The last thing I need as a cag is a service that gives me a larger backlog than I already have and charges me monthly to keep it.
Agreed, but it's actually quite a good deal for people w/o consoles and collections. I can see the benefits of simply having a smart Tv and dual shock 4, and then for $100 a year [or monthly, whatever] basically having a big selection of games. For someone not particularly vested in 'gaming' on a regular basis, it's nice. Would also make sense in other settings -- hospitals, hotels, community centers, etc.

Anyone with a backlog doesn't really need it unless there's a particularly good selection that they don't own but really need to play now, I guess.

I think it also is a way for sony to invest in, and refine, streaming tech for other future uses, whatever they may be.

Because that would make too much sense for us and would probably suck away a huge chunk of the subs.

Doesn't look like anything has been added since this. Maybe there is still more coming but if not this has to be the smallest deal list in forever.

I have full on Star Wars fever, and was about to cave and get Disney Infinity 3.0 and the Force Awakens set, but I think the pinball adaptation will do:

I don't think they charge enough for PS+ to do this. It would likely just get current subscribers to just switch to the lower cost PS+ service option. But they certainly could do a free weekend or something to get people to check the service out again... or drop free games for a month and give out a month of free service for PS+. Giving out some kind of sample that people can use gets people to at least check it out which could lead to more subscriptions.

They already do this with the week trial that everybody gets to try it out.

Against better judgement, I bought the Cabela game. If you ever wondered what it's like to virtually gun down 20 hyenas in 4 minutes, now you can find out.

I hate myself.
I'm playing Assassin's Creed 3 right now, and I figure with the amount of hunting I've done in this game (it's actually pretty fun), it has to be better than the Cabela game. :)

Eh, before the glut of holiday sales this was about what we were getting.
Nope. You can easily look at random months last year and see that we got a good amount of stuff on average.

6/2: 62 PSN, 7 PS+

6/9: 55 PSN, 2 PS+

6/16: 127 PSN, 81 PS+

6/23: 67 PSN, 9 PS+

6/30: 31 PSN, 7 PS+

And compared to last January.

1/6: 9 PSN, 0 PS+

1/13: 112 PSN, 94 PS+

1/20: 101 PSN, 7 PS+

1/27: 69 PSN, 18 PS+

Today's haul:

1/5/16: 5 PSN, 4 PS+

I didn't say every week was like that but we had weeks like this where there was nothing on sale a few times leading up to the holidays. Was just saying this happens from time to time.

Never even finished it but I listened to the soundtrack for months. I really, really wish a japanese dev would go for that style again and make a more up to date game.
You mean, when they made Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom?

Edit: Also, Amplitude is frustrating. I played it for an hour or two. I know I suck at it, but... there are some times where you switch from the extreme ends of tracks and the note is already behind you, and you immediately lose your streak. I don't see any way past those points except memorizing what comes next. Other than that, it's not bad. Not great, either.

IF tweeted about a New Year's sale on PSN, but do to an error it isn't up yet. Seems the sale will be up to 65% off 8 different games.

Here's a version you can actually read:

It's a nice thought... but who doesn't already have the Rebirth games at this point? They were all ten dollars or less in the last year.

I have five of those games, don't want one, and don't have the system for one.

I agree, I haven't ever tried PS NOW because Sony hasn't given me any reason to. There are no incentives except a very decent catoulog and for those who sold their PS3 for a PS4 (shame on you). I know there is a 7 day trial, but honestly life is so chaotic right now I couldn't accurately judge it in 7 days. If Sony would discount (not free at all) PS NOW for plus subscribers or a free weekend trial I might see the value. However this is CAG and we tend to like ownership of our games and at a good price, lol.

I just got the game in today!! Snagged it for about $6 on Amazon in like new condition. Can't wait to play it. Now if I could find a reasonably priced copy of folklore and 3D dot game hero my PS3 library is complete. Well I may get yakuza 5.... Somebody help me I have a sickness, lol.

I'm not sure what to say.

Wow, the deals this week are pretty literally unbelievable. I keep wondering if they made a mistake. I did grab Abyss Odyssey, though, because I enjoyed the demo.

Is anyone a Back to Bed fan? I like that it comes with a dynamic theme (wish all games did) and that it's cross-buy.

I wonder why Assassin's Creed Black Flag is never on sale. Did I miss the sale or something? Thought it would be over Christmas for sure. Still waiting on Dragon Quest Heroes, too. Even a small sale would get me. I know Sq-En doesn't typically discount much, but I bought the FFX remaster three times (wtf), and I feel they owe it to me. And it seems like Dragon Quest Heroes could probably use the sales boost.

Thats enough to say, I will mute myself in this thread, most all comments I make are torn apart. Your right to call out my contradiction, it was wrong. Thanks for the thread Frisky and everyone, I visit it most every day. Cheers for the deals mates.

Did you not see it when we were all literally getting physical copys of the game at target for 34 cents after cartwheel ? That happened 3 times that summer I think lol

Not that Sony owes us anything.  I thought they did a very good job mitigating the DDoS attacks yesterday.  The attacks only lasted a day versus an entire week+ last year.  You can't stop a DDoS attack unless you own the internet infrastructure like Google does.  But if Sony wants to give us a few discounts for yesterday, I'm not going to complain about it.  And I hope they will be some good titles or deals there.  ;)

Nope, I just got a PS4 recently, so I wasn't paying attention. I was still under the delusion that my computer could run it. I stick to digital anyway these days. Wouldn't be any room in my house if I had all my digital hoard in physical form. (Scary thought.)
