I usually try 2 major releases a month (about $120). This year i'm trying to do one major release a month (about $60). Think so far my only bad month planned is feb with 3 games (Digimon, Fire Emblem Fates, SFV likely). March is stranger of sword city/Escha & Logy Plus since I ordered them together, april is dark souls 3, June Odin Sphere. Hopefully I can try to keep it at one major release per month. Also whenever Persona V, FFXV and Star Ocean come out I buy them....likely near the end of the year for those. Zero Escape 3 also will be bought also and likely COD at the end of the year. That's likely my 2016 in a nutshell. If my friends want a multiplayer mainly game like battleborn we will try betas together first before committing to those.

I also have maybes....like Popolcrois Story of Seasons, Trillion, other niche games. I mainly skip AAA games unless I want them badly but they are mainly a bunch of sequels to originals I've never played.

Think about it. Why would someone need a 32 or 64 gb card if all that was on it were game saves?
why are you quoting me? Anywho obviously digital games are the reason to get the larger cards but ignoring that if saves wern't tied to cards that would be alot more space to work with. Saves and such do take up space pretty quickly on their own however.

I had the same issue. Your stick is defective. It may get worse over time. If it's OLED, there are lots of replacement sticks around. If it's Slim, you're probably SOL because I couldn't find parts. It got so bad I just bought a new unit.
FYI. If it's less than a year old, Sony might fix it under warranty.
You've got me a bit worried. This is my second vita (first had a stuck pixel out of the box) and less than 13 months old. Realistically, I just don't want to have to put on another protection screen (hate them, but are worthwhile) after I swap it out with the warranty.
The right stick is intermittent. Seems to stick more after trying to dig straight down in Terraria for a bit, but doesn't do it all the time. Might switch over to AC Liberty and hope it stops.

Isn't discussion another word for ...

debate, argument, discourse, analysis ... the list goes on.

Just saying.

If you aren't being a jerk, those with thoughts about the Vita should be able to express those ideas freely in this very thread.

Resogun and Geometry Wars killed my first Vita. My right thumbstick was spotty to begin with, but those games require constant, heavy use of the right thumbstick.

"I honestly don't know why the vita even needs memory cards when it could of just locked the saves to the damn carts."

Because you sounded like you had no idea what the memory cards are used for.

so whats god for vita?

i have ultimate marvel vs capcom 3,god of war collection and some psp games i bought years ago such as lunar silver star harmony, gta vice city stories, half minute hero, and maverick hunter x.

Miku is god for Vita. Goddess, I guess, technically.

People actually ask that question and it's answered all the time. I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't have the time right now to look up the last time it was posted. Else I would. Probably like 5-10 pages back.

Why would you play a fighting game on a portable system if a console version exists?
I used to think this too, especially as a person who uses a fightstick and plays a lot of fighting games, and consoles is almost always the preferred choice due to better netcode or being more stable and running better. But I think a lot of the fighting game devs know this, so they gave the portable versions a little extra something to make it more worthwhile to have, such as SFxT having all the DLC chars in the game already, MK9 as well and also a new challenge tower, UMVC3 having a hitbox viewer mode, and a lot of the anime fighters have a sort of "visual novel" story mode, which works really well on the Vita, especially Dengeki Bunko. The controls are often simplified as well, so it'll feel like playing on pad a lot, which isn't a bad choice for fighting games either.

Your mainly right though, especially if you are playing competitively, console versions are the way to go. But the portable versions aren't bad either and have decent points to it, if you are looking to pick some of them up.

ah the context just flew over your head then? gotchya.

On a different note if you copy the save data but delete the install bubble will you still be able to use the save data? I remember reading something about the install data deletes your saves on the vita so I made sure to back up all my saves to my ps3/pc but I wanted to make sure I didn't screw myself when I transferred my stuff over to my 16gb card on my vita tv.

I can not tell you how many people I knew that mainly had a PSP cause they could hack it to play free games and SNES titles.
Same here but I even knew people who, like myself, got the system to play official releases, but unlike me, turned to a life of piracy shortly afterwards upon discovering how easy it was to pirate the games. And interestingly, I remember people being enraged about how expensive Sony's briefly proprietary Memory Stick Pro Duo memory cards were that the PSP used, how quickly people seem to have forgotten about that.

And what about the expensive memory cards which the PS2 used? $29.99 For a 8MB card was absurd, and even when un-offical memory cards hit the market they were still unreasonably priced at $19.99 or higher.

Also worth noting that both the PSTV and the Vita 2000 have 1GB of onboard memory which makes the system's usable right out of the box without a need to purchase a memory card right away.

Ive had my Vita since Day 1 (except when it was stolen and I had to buy another).... but some games I never picked up assuming theyd drop in price eventually, ill get them cheaper, and now have vanished completely.

Any tips on where I could get MvCapcom3 and Disgaea 3 for the Vita? Cant seem to find them anywhere outside of Ebay.

Thanks for the list! Unfortunately, nothing I really need or want...except for for child of light at GS - blech. Might have to take my chances. I have been watching the same titles myself at BBY and amazon.

MVC3 has been out of print for about 2 years now. Finding it new in stores isn't going to be easy.

I am missing just two games to have them all.  MMA is hard to find complete and for any kind of a deal and Chrono Phantasma Extend just won't go down in price.  GameStop finally lowered the new price, and promptly opened them all.  Sigh.....

I'm in the same boat. Chrono Phantasma Extend and Farming Sim 16 are the last two I need to complete my currently released US physical set. They just won't go on sale anywhere. I'm waiting for ~$20 on each, but so far I haven't seen either for sub $30.

I bought my copies of Ultimate MvC3 & Disgaea 3 at gamestop used. Before Christmas it was pretty easy to find them both but then all the b2g1 deals reduced what stores around here have. So it may be harder now to get them used at GS (still it's worth checking). UMvC3 is $44.41 (NEW) on Amazon (Instock jan 19th) and Disgaea 3 is $37.99 (NEW) with both being fulfilled by Amazon (so free shipping). I think the Amazon deal on Disgaea 3 is good... the UMvC3 deal isn't bad but that's just what it'll cost to find a new copy these days without seriously hunting it at every possible store. I think my copy was $25 used at GS and I happened to have a buy 2 get 1 coupon or another coupon (I forget) to make it cheaper.

Nice job on the list of cheap games. It's both awesome and sad I can look at it though and subtract what I own and see nothing worth my money. So the good side is, no temptation to spend money! I meant to say this monday but I'm sorry to hear your site got hacked. I used to host company stuff locally but due to all the virus infected computers that would try and hack us or spam our mail server I decided to move everything to godaddy. That freed up so much of my time dealing with that crap along with maintaining the servers. I know people hate godaddy because the owner is a big game hunter or something, but I've dealt with them before as a host and they did a fine job... though it helps that I don't use any of the tools they offer for web design and just code my own html, css, and aspx content using a basic text editor. Good luck finding a new host, though if all you want to put up are those 4 files, you could probably just handle that with google docs.

...

Thinking more about my monthly game budget, I think I'm pretty settled on $20/wk instead of $80 a month. I like the idea of one major release a month but I don't buy a lot of new release games anyway so operating on just cash will make me prioritize my spending a little more. It's not that I have a super tight budget or anything. I just think if I limit myself it'll force me to evaluate my purchases a little better and make wise

If I factor in all of the digital releases I own, I have every game that has been released physically.

I'm torn..... Do I purchase the digital games I have in physical form or just be happy with the digital copies of some of them?

I have seen some posts on cag that mention your local Walmart may have some copies available but at retail price. That may be your best bet afiak if you don't want to pay resell prices

Marvel vs Capcom was on clearance at Walmart for $10-11 this summer... I didn't care for fighting games on a handheld so didn't buy.

Guess I should have bought all 4 copies they had.

And I thought Target had a clearance sale on it as well about the same time. The others that are mentioned I have not seen physical outside Amazon etc.

So I brought my Vita in to work today and remote played some Destiny... Three of my coworkers who have PS4s were interested in checking out the Vita for themselves after seeing that. We popped down to Best Buy (there's a store in the same complex as my office)... Despite having a Vita demo station, there were no actual Vitas that we could find for sale, and the game selection was one shelf with literally five games on it. Ouch.

NISA pretty much always does physical copies sans a few smaller even more niche games like Brandish and that other one that had strange animation. I'm hoping for a nice CE myself with a complete soundtrack and oversized artbook.

Did you ask an employee? At my best buy at least the Vitas are in the glass case with the 3DS's in the Nintendo section.

Walmart by me, 4 mvc3 for $22 each.
So it's possible to still get it for cheap (or cheaper than amazon etc)

Problem is like any SF/BlazBlue/any other fighting games that gets updates UMvC3 pretty much killed the price of MvC3. No one wants that. At least the old BlazeBlue games have confusing but decent stories when everyone has moved on to play the new ones. It's the same for shooters mainly too...everything supercedes and most don't stay with the older games.

Edit: Ignore I thought it was an original but those were only on the consoles. Not a terrible price but i think the age of the game is likely turning down the resale/play value.

Yeah, if you are dedicated to the hunt for vita games... it's possible to find deals like that. Every Walmart I checked before Christmas was mostly out of Vita games or it just had a few that I already had. That's why I resorted to GameStop and used a coupon to make it cheaper. I think in the end I paid just under $17 for it with a b2g1 free coupon while pairing it with a couple HyperDimension games.

Still, if you want the game and don't want to work to find a copy the Amazon price isn't great but it's at least an option outside of ebay.

Yeah I was just posting it because a few people said they needed it for their "collection".
Was at a Walmart and I always check for deals on all games, same store also had lumines for $22...
