Comic Book Discussion Thread (Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Top Cow, IDW, Indy, etc)

I missed that special and there's no replay. :whistle2:/ But a lot of things will be different in the film, and that probably includes the ending.

Marvel did announce the new ongoing series "Captain America: Steve Rogers" with a re-powered Steve as Cap. Sam Wilson will continue operating in his current role at the same time.

I can't believe the abc special about Captain America spoiled the ending to Civil War to the audience, unless the Civil War movie is going to have a different ending.
I Doubt it'll follow the same ending considering the Russo's are merely borrowing the whole Cap vs. Iron Man portion of Civil War and not much else (not like they really can).

Got my set signed today by Kyle Higgins! Woohoo! I should have bought another set last week. I only bought 2 extra red rangers hoping to just buy the other covers in a future time! Tsk! These comics are way too hot right now and you'll be lucky if your comic store still sells these at cover price.

Yes, much more rare than the Green and White Ranger covers, which I believe are 1:50 and 1:25, respectively. I just bought the Black Ranger cover and that was it.

A friend of mine was kind enough to upload both the Captain America 75 special as well as the Dawn of the Justice League show. If anyone else also needs to see those and wants download links, send me a PM.

Ms. Marvel #3 will be in by next week at the store I buy from. Here's what I did get:

Pace yourself on those if you want to stick with that format, they only come out once a year.
Yeah I am in no rush to finish them all.

Just finished the first book and

I didn't know that Andrea was banging Dale in the comic book. Was totally caught off guard about since that never happen in the show.

Andrea's character in the show was totally ruined. In the comic you see her become more of a badass and it'll just get you more frustrated with the direction they decided to take her for the show. That and alot of things that just stick out or really why I can't watch it because I've been spoiled by the books (even with the glacier like pacing when you read it monthly).

"Yes, I spoke to the distributor yesterday. He assured me that we would have it by next Wednesday."

- Comic store, 1 week ago, regarding Ms. Marvel #3

Today: "They didn't send it."

Thankfully- at least according to what I was told on the phone- everything I ordered for this week came in.

I guess I'm done relying on the Previews World website. You'd think the people producing the catalogs and order forms would be more reliable. But in the month or so I've been using their site, they've failed to list multiple new releases. I almost missed True Believers: Deadpool- The Variants #1 this week as a result. Back to comiclist.com I go.

Of course, True Believers: Evil Deadpool #1 didn't arrive on time, in addition to Ms. Marvel #3 from last week still not being there. So here's what I did get:

• All-New All-Different Avengers #4
• All-New Inhumans #3
• Batman & Robin Eternal #17
• Black Canary #7
• Cyborg #7
• Daredevil #3
• Deadpool & Cable: Split Second #2
• Deathstroke #14
• Extraordinary X-Men #6
• Ghostbusters International #1
• Justice League of America #7 (Adult Coloring Book variant)
• Kanan #10
• Old Man Logan #1
• Ringside #3
• Superman: Lois & Clark #4 (Adult Coloring Book variant)
• True Believers: Deadpool Musical #1
• True Believers: Deadpool Variants #1
• Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #4
• Venom: Space Knight #3

Old Man Logan is so good. I really like the artwork and style. I never read the original but after reading this first issue it makes me want to go collect the tpb of the original and Secret Wars tie-in.

I Don't know how you have room with how much you buy on a weekly basis.

On that note, bought like 45 or so graphic novels/trades/hardcovers from GoHastings during their $2.99 and half off sale.

Sounds like you might need some more storage soon as well. I really need to pick up another long box or two. My pull list keeps growing, and it seems like 1/3 of the new Marvel series have been releasing bi-weekly rather than monthly.

Soon? I'm already there! My unofficial New Years Resolution before I knew it was finishing some trades and such that I want to complete and let me tell you...shit adds up quick. And yeah Marvel's schedule more than DC is frustrating. I Don't know if they're afraid of people having short attention spans or what, but it kinda justifies me buying majority of their shit when it's in a hardcover or giant collection (c'mon Mark Waid Daredevil hardcovers, get cheaper). I Think only ones I still pick up from Marvel as soon as they come out are All New Avengers, Silver Surfer, Hawkeye, Star Wars and Spidey/Deadpool. Speaking of which, I got into Deadpool back because of the Joe Kelly run and Spidey Deadpool is exactly what I wanted it to be so far.

Otherwise I only got a few DC, the rest is all Archie and Image stuff I pick up.

I just can't wait all that time for collections. As you can tell by my posts, a large portion of the comics I read are Marvel titles. And it has been rumored that DC will be canceling nearly half of my favorite books that they put out: Starfire, Black Canary, and Midnighter. And of course Batman & Robin Eternal will end in a few weeks. But I am picking up the main Superman and Batman books starting with the 50th issues, and multiple Harley Quinn and Justice League books. Then some Image stuff to top it all off.

Oh yeah, I've also got the Avengers vs. X-Men Companion hardcover set to arrive early next week. That monstrosity contains 50 or so issues spanning over 1,000 pages.

Marvel and DC falling into the the beck and call of their TV and movie overlords make me less excited to pick up alot of their stuff. That and DC's new motto of story first and continuity second drives me insane! It's one of those things that I see in the short term helps them possibly get new fans, but in reality it drives people who have been collecting insane and just make me go to trades and hardcovers to avoid the hassle (like majority who don't care or know of these things in anycase).

And I'm also picking up Black Canary, I think I'm enjoying it for the coloring and art because the story is non existent it's just literally a run and don't look back and accept it for better or worse. Being of pure sound and they gotta fight some kinda sound monster now that was never established prior? Sure! Why not! ...What the fuck is going on again?

I received my Avengers vs. X-Men Companion hardcover yesterday instead of having to wait til Tuesday. It's huge! Weighs about 10 pounds. Yet somehow, it does not include Avengers: X-Sanction #1-4.

I want to get the 2nd printing of Age of Apocalypse Omnibus but I don't know if I can read a big book like that comfortably. I think you would have to sit down at a desk or something and I normally lay down when reading.

I Have the Invisibles Omnibus (which I think is a little bit more than 500 pages than the Age of Apocalypse omnibus) and let me tell you, you can't read that laying down. fucking thing is huge and you definitely need to give yourself some distance between your face and the pages when reading those. I Think the biggest benefit of those is having all the stories together in one, but you got to take into account the page count on those things.

I got that on sale about a year ago from Books a Million For 19.99. Worth 50 not any more than that.

As usual, here's what I got this week:

• Amazing Spider-Man #8
• Avengers Standoff: Welcome to Pleasant Hill #1
• Batman & Robin Eternal #20
• Birthright #14
• Deadpool & Cable: Split Second #3
• Extraordinary X-Men #7
• Harley Quinn #25
• I Hate Fairyland #5 (F*ck Fairyland variant)

That Standoff issue that came out this week pretty much lays out the primary concept of the storyline. I really enjoyed that issue, and you should be able to tell if you'll be interested in the idea of the event from reading that one book.

Makes sense. That will be much cheaper than buying the 13 or so issues separately. Of course we've already been told that Steve Rogers will become Captain America once again in a few months, but Rogers wasn't in this issue at all. It was mostly focused on revealing exactly what Pleasant Hill was.

By the way, if anyone cares and missed the news, DC has revealed its full slate of 32 ongoing series for Rebirth. 15 of those 32 books will ship once a month, with the other 17 shipping every 2 weeks.

To top it off, all DC books will cost $2.99. I know a good chunk of them go for that price already, but they still currently charge $3.99 for the more popular titles.

I Just want to know the creative teams if anything.

Also I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if I associate with more than the other, but Jesus today I realized I have WAAAAY more Marvel hardcovers and trades than I do DC.

So do I. DC just keeps alienating me more and more. They just cancelled most of my favorite seried that they currently publish. Batman & Robin Eternal is ending, Titans Hunt and Lois & Clark have been cut from 12 issues to 8, and the following great books are all concluding:

• Black Canary
• Martian Manhunter
• Midnighter
• Starfire

Boo to that, DC. Boo.

So, because I had no idea who Tom King was, I picked up The Vision.

It's really really good. Makes me very excited for his potential upcoming Batman run.

The Vision has been excellent thus far. It's kind of unfortunate that the seried will conclude after 12 issues, but I never expected it to last long anyway.
