WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully I can get $240 for my humming BF Uncharted PS4 bundle. I know that the $200 TIV promo ends on 3/20, but one can only hope.

Definitely not. It says it's not able to be combined with another offer. It sounds more like the TiVs go from $200 to $190 for PURP members on the 21st.

They put a very stubborn sticker around the ring. I've never attempted to remove it before as I'm afraid it would damage the disc. Someone else may have had luck. My gamestop will take (and sell) Redbox games without issue.

Also, there is no way to get a regular game case with a RB game. I've even contacted RB about it and they seem to get the games from pubs without all the fancy cases and artwork. Some especially douchey GS employees might try to slip a refurb fee in on you for not have a case. You tell them NAY NAY!

 
That's true has anyone figured out what the gs ban is based on for $ value? I know people during the Jurassic flips from last summer were getting banned by amount even though they were under quantity

Heck, with GS doing cash TiVs, I might use that as a chance to convert some BB credit to cash and make a bit of money. I can go get BL:THC for $21.69 and trade it for $27.50. Do that 6 times (BB's 3 per-platform), and you make $34.86. I'm obviously not going to go that crazy and buy 3 of each, but I might get 1 of each.

When we were comparing notes that first time we all hit the trade in limit, I think the threshold we came up with was $2k in a week/month that got most of us. Led to a 90 day Exceeded Trade Limit Ban.

The safe buy limit at Best Buy is 3.

Redbox has them for $9. I peeled off the redbox sticker no problem with a razorblade and some goo gone. You just have to be very careful not to scratch the actual disc label.

I'm looking at trading around $200-$235 in stuff. I'm going to pick up a New Nintendo 3DSL XL, though. Going the credit route as I have no interest in paying sales tax.

OoT for 3ds still trades for $22 so you can create a bit of churn if like me you don't mind cashing out and then rebuying at BB or Amazon when the selects drop.

Do you know how? Is the limit just very low for cash trades?

God damn I feel like Noob city but another question, when asking for a cash trade did the employees already know about the promo? Or did they try to give you the lesser cash value and did you have to tell them that you can get the same amount of credit in cash?
