Good point. Forgot that it would have been Deadpool movie money. We might see it re-issued, or other movie money releases tied to Apocalypse coming out.

Sure. I think I picked up the first two Ip Man movies from Frys @ $4.99, so I'm sure I can get rid of them somewhere for that price. I almost pre-ordered the 3rd one from Amazon @ $12.99.

Not sure if this one and Hateful 8 will be cheaper at release or not, though it'll be a couple of weeks and a month before the respective ads leak to find out.

I pre-ordered both Hateful 8 and Ip Man Trilogy to be safe and can cancel / re-order if there's a pre-order bonus for them.

 
Donnie Yen is probably retiring. So even if they made more, it'd probably be without him.

Edit: It's not guaranteed there won't be one, but it's not likely.

I really wish there will be a domestic steelbook for Krampus, though I highly doubt it since it's supposed to release in a month and a half.

So that's going to be $5 more expensive then the standard version (currently $19.99 on the site)? Shit, I'm getting a little tired of Best Buy/Target gradually increasing the price differences between their exclusives and the standard releases. I thought the whole point of these exclusives was to get you to buy the item at launch, not pay a super premium for it over the regular release? The main reason I started collecting domestic steelbooks was because they were affordable. Now, not so much, especially when items are going on sale for $10 less within a few weeks. I might as well just wait for a sale.

Anyway, I would have canceled my preorder except I made it when the $5 Reward promotion was active for this movie, so I'll reluctantly be keeping this for the after-reward price of $19.99. But I will not hesitate to cancel Star Wars, Hateful Eight or Deadpool if they don't price them more reasonably closer to the standard release.

The worse issue is that the standard versions drop in price over time, the SBs tend not to do so at BB. Target, yes, when they share a DPCI # with the non-SB release, though as we know, that brings up different issues of their own.

Thing is, if you're with Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay Pt 1 SBs, you know you have to have the other one to make it a complete set. ;)

Yea, I had it preordered, but then I managed to sell the first three. Now I'm not tied down!

Cept I need the EU release... But I did get 2 and 3 for <$15 each.

It's actually pretty common to put up the home video release preorder page during the theatrical opening weekend. If they announced a release date and cover art already I would be more worried about their box office expectations.

It's common to have the movie up for pre-order around theatrical opening weekend, yes, no argument there. It's more that there's a SB already announced for it, which I've seen very seldom while the movie is still out, if ever. That's the point that seems odd to me.

Not complaining about another SB into the mix, not counting my wallet, though it's just a surprise to see a SB this early into the mix since that's usually much later into the mix.

Right, but even with Deadpool I bet they had a minimum audience to justify it. Best Buy probably orders a much larger moq than 3000 zavvi claims on their smaller offers so something like Cloverfield which could have totally bombed is a bit optimistic. I really want to see the film but it would have to be incredible for me to get it outside my Superhero/Disney collection.

Movie title is actually BatmAn vs. SupermAn: Dawn of Justice. And yes, undoubtedly it will be getting a steelbook, steelcase, a supreme deluxe edition featuring lead lined briefcase containing kryptonite, Lex Luthor's toupee, Superman's underoos and Batman's armor codpiece/jockstrap etc. Already numerous discussions all over the Intarwebzesses regarding preorders from dur Amazon Deutschland, Nippon, etc. Google is your friend. Well, maybe not your friend...

Whoa, I think you really summarized not only starnask posting habits to a T but also all of the future questions he will no doubt ask from here to blu ray release date.
I honestly try to ignore him now but his posts make me wonder how he gets through life on a day to day basis.
 
Yeah, I was just pointing it out as I thought the starmask jokes had passed. Upon reflection I didn't need a /s to realize that was a sarcastic comment. On that note, I have to admit I'm amazed at the horrible LE versions places like Amazon release only to see them nosedive in price over time. I can only assume that the American market is more susceptible to crappy novelty packaging over a good quality steelbook.

The original question was if it had a steelbook and not if it was 3D

I got a couple of those 3D collector sets for $5 each at frys last year. Kept the 3D disc and put it in the Walmart steel, sold off the rest.
