Assuming you haven't been to them yet, the Adventure Worlds are what you're looking for :) I think you can get to them after playing the first story level. There's an elevator on the left side of the portal room. It'll take you to an area that has a bunch of stargate looking circles. Each gate will take you to an Adventure World based on a certain franchise. You just need 1 character from the franchise to be able to visit the world. The adventure worlds are more open and have hidden bricks, simple quests, etc. :)
Perfect. Thank you!!

No problem :D You get the Lego Movie, Batman, and Lord of the rings worlds with the starter pack. The portal world and LoTR are my favorites. If a franchise has a fun / team / story pack, they also have an adventure world.
Okay, so that $6 Sensei Wu gets me "ninjago world" ... That's a bit tempting.

The WIZARD OF OZ Adventure World is a fun one, and the Wicked Witch is a very handy character. I recommend her for these reasons to those new to the game. Not sure if there have been any good sales on her lately.

Missed out on buying her at Best Buy when all fun packs were $8.49 ($5.99/GCU), but AWD has a like-new floating around for about $8.50 on average.

If that monkey she came with wasn't so dreadfully stupid in every way imaginable, I'd have bought her long ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain the flying monkey (who doesn't even fly until upgraded) is the single most useless, non-unique, and worst-looking physical build in the entire game.

Not an attractive monkey, no. I think he has a couple of decent powers, but I don't remember what they are. I haven't used him since I first played the OZ stuff.

We have confirmation of LEGO Stripe in a GREMLINS post from the official account, for those hankering for more Gremlins. I guess that doesn't guarantee a toy, though. I'm sure Gizmo will come with his little car in the Fun Pack.

It doesn't show up in Amazon's search yet for some reason, but here's the new Ghostbusters story pack. $50 gets you 6 levels, an adventure world, battle arena, 1 minifig, 1 vehicle, and a Chinese restaurant (new Ghostbusters HQ) Lego build that replaces the portal build that currently sits on top of the portal gamepad.

Have you seen the newest trailer for it? I also thought it looked like crap from the first trailer they released, but the second one made it look a lot better. I'm hoping it turns out to be good. There's been a few other movies I've seen where they cut a horrible trailer but the movie was great, so with luck maybe that will be the case here too.

in the Adventure World can you drive a bulldozer through someone's house, or shoot an old lady through a roof by messing with her chair lift? this is important

e: new Ghostbusters looks like straight garbage, mostly because even though I like Kristin Wiig and Kate McKinnon, the other two are anti-comedy in everything they've ever been in. It also just seems to completely miss the reasons people ever liked Ghostbusters to begin with.

oh wait no I'm just sexist and hate it because they have vaginas, sorry. I'm also a ball of rage, not just somebody who doesn't care enough to go see it

Reboots of a good movie are rarely any good. They almost always try too hard to make it "better" and end up F'n it up.

I'll watch it, but not keeping my hopes up.

I plead the fif on the Ghostbusters comment but equally hope the Gremlins adventure world is populated with quests where you damage property and kill lego people.

I was excited about the new Ghostbusters movie until watching the trailer... even my wife who knows nothing about Ghostbusters said the trailer was not interesting at all.

Speaking of Gremlins, I care less about Gizmo or the old lady... give me a Phoebe Cates figure or a remake of Phoebe Cates

that's in the Fast Times at Ridgemont High Fun Pack

And yeah, that trailer was pretty much a cringe from beginning to end, and the newer ones are no better.

Some Fast Times packs would completely change Dimensions for me. I picture a little lego Spicoli with a little piece of pizza in his hand. A Phoebe Cates fun pack would ramp up the rating to MA, no doubt.

So is year 2 going to require a purchase of another game, or are they just adding content to the existing game?
I'm thinking about jumping in. I actually already own a few packs because they were dirt cheap and are cool to have as just Legos. But do I buy a starter pack now since I've seen them on sale multiple times, or wait if they're releasing a new game?

WILL I NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW STARTER PACK EVERY YEAR?

No, only one LEGO® DIMENSIONS™ Starter Pack is needed for multiple years of fun! LEGO DIMENSIONS was designed to be a system of play that will allow for added innovation and engaging gameplay mechanics without requiring another Starter Pack purchase next year.
This needs to be stickied, and reposted on the top of every page in this thread.

Finally this makes sense:

I do wonder if the Adventure World will be the town from G1 or Cramp Tower from G2. The Electric Gremlin would also be cool as a playable character, since his abilities would work well for puzzles.

I'd guess that they'll work both in. The bigger question is, will they have a couple of santa legs sticking out of a house's chimney?

If they were taking requests, I'd want

1) an original clash of the Titans fun pack with Perseus and Boobo the owl.

2) Earthworm Jim and Peter Puppy Team Pack with a Psycrow and Pocket Rocket Fun Pack

3) ToeJam and Earl Level Pack. Nuff said.

Futurama would be so great, and they already have a relationship with Fox or whomever it is that they work with for The Simpsons. Are both those shows under the same ownership these days? I assume so.

WHY NOT LEGO ZOIDBERG?!?

My most out-there, no-way wish would be for Buckaroo Banzai and the Jet Car.

Year 3 wishes? Rick and Morty my glip glops!
hmm... isn't it too far ahead?

there have been many discussions and suggestions on what to be in Disney Infinity 4 on official forum and even the dev promised Peter Pan by end of the year and then we all know what had happened.

Lego Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Daredevil, Jessica Jones

At some point I'd like Disney to just be like "Here's the licenses to make Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones because it was done so well in the past. Oh yeah, you can also use our classic animated movies like Aladdin and the Lion King if you want."

This probably will never happen due to the R rated murderish nature of these franchises, but Lego Alien, Predator, Evil Dead, Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elmstreet, Chucky, Scream, Hannabal, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

It would be cool to have Lego Star Trek, Avatar, Blade Runner, Godfather, The Fast and the Furious, Terminator, Rambo, Rocky, Jay and Silent Bob, James Bond, Mad Max, Riddick, Ninja Turtles, Planet of the Apes, Robocop, Die Hard, Bourne, Jack Ryan, Universal Monsters, Family Guy, South Park, Walking Dead, Outlander, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Wire, True Blood, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Battlestar Galactica, X-Files, Lost, Fringe, Twilight Zone.

So you want LEGO dimensions for like every popular franchise from the last 20-30 years?

Still kicking myself for not buying the current Starter Pack when it was on sale, for like $40 for last generation and $50 on current generation consoles.
There are plenty of them still in every stores, pretty sure some sales will come when it's their turn after clearing other toy-to-life games, seems like the turn of Skylanders now.
