getting between 130-170 on my 1070 with only 34% vram usage reported by hardware monitor.

Im actually surprised the 960 does so poorly. Everyone I know with 970's consistently gets 85-110fps with max settings, would have thought the 960 would have been able to maintain 60

I just saw some benchmark for the GTX 960 and it's pulling about 67 avg. and the min. isn't that low, 45+. The game is mostly indoors so there shouldn't be issues.

Must be that MysterD processor is a first gen i7 which is bottlenecking and the fact that the GTX 960 is a 128-bit bus card. Nvidia just sucks when it comes to midrange cards.

Could be, my 2600k and/or z68 mobo was bottlenecking my 970. Once I oc'ed it i gained ~10fps in most games (but that was a fairly high overclock), switching to a 6700k+z170 completely got rid of the bottleneck and now its consistently ~12-15fps higher

As someone who plays games on steam but doesn't understand steam. What are the cards for? I just put them up in marketplace.  Do "sale cards" give you more discounts?

I'm sure I'll get passive aggressively downvoted all to hell now because that's how they do.

*Edit: Okay I meant negligible not negligent durr. I edited I'm just too lazy to repost the damned picture. Although those assholes are negligent too.

It's sort of a metagame. You get some cards by playing (or idling) games. Then you can trade or buy the rest to complete the set and [customspoiler=craft the cards into a badge]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb_t9Voz1LA[/customspoiler] which will increase your level on Steam, give different backgrounds and badges you can add to your profile and emoticons you can use in Steam chat and such.

Or you can just sell them and use them as sort of a small (very small ) rebate like most of us here do.

The sale cards act the same but instead of getting them from playing a game you get them from buying games, crafting badges or logging in daily and voting during the big sale. You can also sell them to other people for Steam wallet or craft the set to get badges, profile backgrounds and emoticons but the difference in this case is it's time limited and with these cards you can only do that during the sale.

For now prior to the sale if you craft a set of cards you will get a mystery sale card which will convert to a regular sale card once the sale starts.

TL;DR if you don't care about your Steam level or profile just sell them for Steam wallet.

Which 1070 did you end up snagging?
got a founders edition from the evga site, they seemed to have the best shipping price. they were available for about a hour on a few sites when they came out, the custom versions sold out pretty quick. I got mine about 45 minutes after release.

The boost speed on this thing is all over the place, seen it as high as 1915 but typically sits around 1800. strange because the advertised boost speed is only 1683.

What resolution are you running it at?
1080, it only drops to those lower fps when there is a ton of shit going on. im ready for a new monitor now, cant wait to see some gleam shit in 1440!

~1800 for boost sounds about right for what most of the models can do. The advertised speed is just there to show what would be the baseline of what you would get at the minimum when the boost kicks in. You don't really know the actual speed until you use the card and monitor it yourself.

Like my 980 Ti Classified, it's advertised as 1291mhz for boost but mine actually goes up to 1405mhz and OC'd it to 1485mhz and up the memory speed by +250mhz.

Nobody really cares but Cleveland Cavaliers finally won a championship.

Now back on topic.
Crazy TV night.

Cav's won NBA Title; Games of Thrones tonight was amazing; and Penny Dreadful had a back-to-back-episodes for Season Finale that felt + acted like more like a Series Finale.

EDIT:

Oh, and for WWE fans...

Dean Ambrose won Money In The Bank [MITB] (for a chance at the title whenever); Seth Rollins beat Roman Reigns for WWE Belt; then Dean cashed-in MITB, hit Dirty Deeds, and won WWE Belt.

Congrats to Cleveland. Being from Kansas City I know what a long drought can do to a community so I'm happy for the city but it's an NBA championship... Which is a little less predetermined than professional wrestling but not much.

Oh, speaking of Cleveland and wrestling you got another champ tonight also. Dean Ambrose. :D

Edit: Guess he's from Cincinnati not Cleveland... (Well good for him.)

Signed up for Steam's mobile app to sell cards in a timely manner. Holy shit what an annoying process. I hate technology.
I haven't tried it again but last time I tried to list cards I still had to fucking wait and whatnot...

Edit: Had a booster drop the other day and I could list it... Not sure why that happened.

A few topical observations:

1) Fathers Day can't also be Proof You've Had Sex At Least Once Day because some babies are conceived in labs.

2) Doom 2016 looks and runs lovely on a 980ti.

3) Kickstarter is garbage.

Father's Day was "Convenient excuse to justify buying a new monitor even though my old one worked perfectly well" Day.  The sex and kids and stuff were secondary.

Card talk.

I've held back on farming/accumulating cards this sale. I had 130 sets at Christmas, and I nearly cried when, again, there wasn't a silly event to drive up prices to a reasonable (say, 15-16p a card) level. I waited, passing up on a nice 11-12p per card haul in the day before the sale, and as soon as it was revealed that the sale gimmick was ONLY that silly clickclickclickclick game, card prices tanked. I ended up netting 8-9p a card which, considering where they'd been hours early, was brutally annoying.

Not a little bit annoying, it was brutal. Listen up, kid. Pennies are business. These pennies are serious business. Shut up.

So what did I do this year? Well I sold a little more, hoarded a little less, banked some steam wallet and only held back 40 sets for crafting. It's been a bit of a ballache but I felt it was a better option, as opposed to the continual disappointment at the next sale "gimmick". We haven't seen a gem auction recently and it's been even longer since cards meant anything more than vanity. This is the right time to sell. I've put everything on the market today at the 11-12p pre-sale-hype bubble price and that's me happy. It's a few extra pounds in the pot and it'll pay for some undoubtedly-disappointing indie flavour-of-the-month trash.

And before you say anything about being an amateur, remember that you're addressing somebody with a Steam level of 112. So remember your manners, you filthy casual.

...

If there's a sale gimmick that involves cards I will fucking weep.

I'm also reminded of a line from DMX's Party Up - "You're wack, you're twisted, your gril's a ho/ You're broke, the kid ain't yours and everybody knows./You're old man say you stupid, you be like 'So?/ I love my baby mama, I'll never let her go!'" (emphasis added)

I got a new 3DS preordered, and an agreement to not argue in a few months when the next batch of video cards come out that I can get IT and a VR set at the same time. I figure that's a worthy father's day gift. Not having to argue. :) You got sex though? I need to up my negotiating ;)

If I was smarter, I would have idled and put my cards up 14 days ago since I haven't done that mobile auth crap.  But, meh.  It was 3rd world wages when I'd spend an hour listing cards at 5¢ each a year ago and I sure as hell ain't taking a 50% pay cut by making the process take twice as long.
