I don't even know if they will be day one DLC. They are definitely part of a DLC pack, but it's up in the air if you'll be able to purchase the pack outside of the NXT edition on day one. I'm definitely getting the NXT edition myself, but it'd suck if others had to wait to get Shinsuke in the game, I'd pay $20 just for him alone.
I probably won't buy the game day one, but either way I wish Shinsuke was in the base game.

I wonder if this could jeopardize Brock's match at Summerslam

They will be day 1 DLC on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. For Xbox One and PS4, they will not be available day 1 unless you get the NXT edition of the game. They will, however, be available to purchase and download at a later date.

What I could see it affecting is WWE's willingness to do business with the UFC in the future.

Unless they basically knew this was going to happen and planned for it (which, I mean...how could they not?), it at least gives the appearance that the UFC's more serious and stringent testing makes WWE's "we test our athletes" claim look silly.

I just can't believe the amount of shit Brock talked about this issue and the "I'm just a jacked white boy. Get over it." comments...if he wasn't absolutely certain he was clean.

It's like he didn't believe how good USADA testing is, and just thought "Well, I passed all of WWE's tests..." lol.

Ah man, that's disappointing. Still happy Shinsuke is in the game though.

So the rules of the draft are set

-Raw has the first overall pick
-Since SmackDown Live is a two-hour show and Raw is three hours, for every two picks SmackDown Live receives, Raw will receive three picks
-Tag teams count as one pick unless a Commissioner/General Manager specifically only wants one member of the team
-Six draft picks will be made off the NXT roster

The list they compiled for the draft is strange. They list tag teams separately from individual superstars, but members of Lucha Dragons and Wyatt Family are listed separately instead of as tag teams. I guess maybe a spoiler as to how they will be drafted?

Also there's 10 women. Who will be split up. Why.

I've never developed a game before, but I suspect that implementing something like the draft, from conceptualization to execution, is a months long process.

Add in that we don't really know what the programs will look like six months out from the draft.

There are too many developmental hurdles (let alone costs) to consider, and too many question marks on the logistics of what the draft will actually *become*.

You're more likely to see Chris Benoit DLC than the WWE Draft.

I suspect even the DLC isn't really worked on post-release - or at the least the DLC schedule is planned out enough.

We didn't even get Sasha Banks/Becky Lynch/Charlotte/Bayley DLC last year. I can't imagine something this unknown and also monumental would happen.

Content (meaning roster) for the 2k games is essentially locked after Wrestlemania. No way in hell they're going to add a major feature to the game in *less* than that same timeframe.

Damn, no Kurt Angle on that list. I bet he'll be a surprise.

I'm saying CM Punk to Raw with the #1 pick and Kurt to Smackdown with the #2 pick. And finally we have balance again.

I'm reading that it was Lesnar's asthma inhaler that flagged him. I hope it's true.
That almost sounds too funny to be true. I hope for his sake, for Summerslam's sake, and for the sake of shut the fuck up Mark Hunt, that it's true.

I'll make a crazy prediction that for pick 1 of 2 Shane drafts Cena, but then for pick 2 of 2 he picks some NXT darling like Balor or Nakamura.

Then a curveball with Demon Kane for #3, Hogan is #4, then all becomes clear as demon Kane descends into hell to obtain Benoit's vengeful spirit for pick #5!

I'm liking our fantasy roster so far. ;)

RAW should be pretty major tonight.  They've gotta promote the hell out of tomorrow.  Hoping for returns.

Honestly didn't expect him as the Smackdown GM since
Daniel Bryan is involved with the Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

I was thinking one of them would be
Sting. I guess Foley was a good choice too.

A WCW guy running RAW!?!?!
Never in a million years would Vince sign off on that one!

Aside from the opening with the new GMs and the majorly underplayed announcement of the Cruiserweight division becoming an exclusive to the RAW brand, which is odd considering who was chosen as Smackdowns new GM, but I am into it being a RAW exclusive gives me hope that they are going to really take these brands in different directions. IMO Smackdown and RAW should feel as different as NXT feels to the main roster.

Well if you want to be technical
Foley was in WCW before WWE so you could say he's a WCW guy

Also, that was a terrible way to end Raw.

Yeah, it's not like Eric Bischoff ever ran Raw or anything.
Whoa! Spoilers! I all seriousness though, I was making a funny with the previous comment, but thankfully they didn't go that route because to be honest I've always thought Sting was pretty boring on the mic and definitely not into the idea of him being any type of GM or authority figure.

im sure tonight they will have a rematch and he will win the title back or something like that. i think they just ran out of time

The next lawsuit that will be dismissed has been filed. It's a big one.

Bloomberg reports that WWE is being sued by more than 50 wrestlers who claim the company hid long-term effects of neurological injuries from years of in-ring action.

The suit, filed on Monday in federal court in New Haven, Connecticut, alleges that WWE failed to care for wrestlers' repetitive head injuries "in any medically competent or meaningful manner" and misrepresented and concealed the nature of long-term neurological injuries they suffered as a result of their WWE careers.

The former wrestlers claim WWE "placed corporate gain over its wrestlers’ health, safety and financial security, choosing to leave the plaintiffs severely injured and with no recourse to treat their damaged minds and bodies."

The wrestlers also say WWE deliberately ignored and hid from them "medically important and possibly lifesaving information" about specific neurological conditions, such as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, that affect wrestlers and athletes who play contact sports prone to head trauma.

"The WWE knows that its wrestlers including the plaintiffs are at great risk for these diseases such as CTE that can result in suicide, drug abuse and violent behavior that pose a danger to not only the athletes themselves but their families and community, yet the WWE does nothing to warn, educate or provide treatment to them," the wrestlers said in the suit.

WWE issued the following statement in response:

“This is another ridiculous attempt by the same attorney who has previously filed class action lawsuits against WWE, both of which have been dismissed. A federal judge has already found that this lawyer made patently false allegations about WWE, and this is more of the same. We’re confident this lawsuit will suffer the same fate as his prior attempts and be dismissed."

Definitely the first time I've seen Don Driggers' (Hogan-era jobber) name in like 25 years.

There's a theoretical lawsuit waiting about conditions and classification that could actually gain traction, but this one like they say is going nowhere.

There are Bayley signs on the seats in the arena tonight.

That's right. I'm going to keep doing that every time Dean retains.

Second failed test announced today. Same banned substance found. Word is it's the same estrogen blocker that Jon Jones got popped for.

Fair enough. 2 isn't good - and please don't mistake me as saying I thought you were wrong, just simply that I prefer to let a situation play itself out first.

A bit bummed they split up the club, but meh.

Any of you guys up in Toronto by chance? You should come to the Chikara shows this Saturday if so!

The Club wins at Battleground. Then Cena argues that AJ has never been able to do anything without the Club, setting up their Summerslam match.

But... WTF? Big Show as a (televised) draft pick???

Cole and Lawler giving the most phony-sounding "I like this pick!" for Del Rio got a solid laugh out of me.

Steph was flat-out intolerable tonight. Apparently the "I talk now you talk" format that literally everyone else has to follow does not apply to her. Her either singing each pick's theme song, shouting their catch phrase, or shouting their stupid WWE provided nickname was soul-crushing.

No, I hear you. Even with two failed tests, he deserves a fair investigation. But it certainly doesn't look good. I'm still baffled by his decision to return to the UFC just to have this be the outcome. And if it does turn out to be estrogen blockers...there's basically no defense for that. With other violations, fighters could claim tainted supplements (Frank Mir even tried to suggest that he ate kangaroo meat while in Australia...and it "must have been given steroids to grow quicker").

Also, because the 2nd failed test was "in competition", Lesnar stands to lose 50% of his fight purse...which comes out to $1.25 million. What in the hell, Brock?

Poor Bayley... Jesus, man. I understood when Charlotte, Sasha and Becky were called up before her. But now we've had Dana Brooke, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss and Carmella too? (Also Emma and Eva Marie, who were on RAW before, so technicality.) What are they even doing with her?

I want to add that tonight was very, very entertaining, though. The ending shot on the Draft show of Heath Slater was hilarious, and "You've gotta have a constant tendency to relapse into barbarianism" is probably my new favorite Backlund quote. Too damn funny.

Smackdown in person was a lot of fun. Roman boos were surprisingly tame. The big show pick got the loudest set of boos by far. American Alpha was the biggest ovation/reaction. The second people knew it was coming, you couldn't hear anything. Everyone was going nuts.

The highlight of the draft was probably Cesaro's mini-shoot and Kalisto's .. uhh .. promo.

New announce teams:

The new announce teams for WWE’s New Era will feature Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton Monday nights on Raw, while Mauro Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga handle the commentary for SmackDown Live every Tuesday night.

Also receiving a makeover will be the announce teams for WWE Superstars and WWE Main Event. Both shows will be led by Tom Phillips, and he will be joined each and every week by Graves on WWE Superstars and Otunga on WWE Main Event.

...It's kind of weird that they brought Jerry Lawler back for a couple weeks only to take him off Smackdown. I know the charges were dropped, but it was still strange for me to hear creepy grandpa commentate on the women's matches.

At least this will give all the women in NXT more time to shine. I'm partial to Peyton Royce, myself.

When they interviewed Cesaro his little info card on the bottom left states that debuted in 1999 and is a "9 time tag team champion".

I can't judge the decisions too much, but perhaps WWE needs some people to keep NXT anchored for a bit, which is why you see Asuka/Bayley and Joe/Aries/Nakamura sticking around.

There's not a "line" for NXT guys to move to WWE programming; it's more of a "find a gap, fill the need" sort of thing. Face v heel, male v female, tall v short, big v small, ethnicity...the criteria used to decide who to move up is unknown to us. I have opinions about what I think works and won't - I'm willing to be patient to see how things shake out before judging if someone is ready or not.

After all, in terms of tenure in NXT, Ascension were WAYYYYYYY due for a move to WWE programming by the time they debuted on Raw, and, frankly, they really really stunk in their debut and didn't recover. Was it b/c it was too early? Was it b/c they can't work anything other than a Road Warriors style squash? I dunno - I do know that they serve as a great example why you don't necessarily benefit from moving someone up to the main roster just because they've been in NXT the longest.

I'm fine with Bayley not being called up. I think NXT needs her more than she needs NXT at this point, but that's the way it goes. I still hold out hope she'll be a night-after-Mania debut, maybe with either Nakamura or Joe.

I thought the draft seemed reasonably balanced last night, but looking at the two rosters on paper now, Smackdown is lagging noticably behind for me. I like Dean, Bray, AJ, and even Cena to a lesser extent, but after the top few guys it drops off. Raw is pretty stacked overall.

Who did Becky Lynch piss off to end up on that women's Smackdown roster? She's probably the one most hopeful for a Bayley call up. Going to be hard to trend upward without the top draws as your opponents.

I haven't seen a lot of Alexa Bliss outside of her manager role since the gimmick change, so maybe I'm underestimating her.

Hopefully booking and the lack of bloat from the third hour makes Smackdown a worthwhile alternative again.

Alexa Bliss has grown alot in her recent NXT matches and her current gimmick fits her alot more than the princess one she started out with. Just way better as a bitchy heel.

I kind of expect Bayley to debut at Battleground.

I'm interested to see how this turns out, but I am kind of bummed that they split up The Club. Although, Balor will probably become the new leader at Battleground.

Becky on Smackdown basically will makes her the Smackdown Women's Champ instantly. Since her call-up to Main Roster (before the split), she has been basically floundering somewhere in limbo the Women's Division, for God knows what reason.

How she hasn't held the WWE Divas or Women's Belt yet, is beyond me - but Smackdown built around her could be great. I just wish she had more exciting opponents. I figured with Charlotte + Sasha called to Raw; and Becky on Smackdown, they'd draft Bayley to Smackdown.

Well, I'll be damned - no Bayley yet on SD. Meh @ that.

i have no clue why

Typical poor WWE booking. We're already not getting enough Women's matches on one single show of Raw or Smackdown, as is. 1 or 2 of these a night, especially on a long 3-hour Raw show - is not enough.

They really do need to do something w/ the Division - so adding another Belt for SD, to me, makes sense. It's be perfect to build around Becky, who's been floundering in limbo for the last year or so, which she shouldn't have been.

They do have a pretty good roster of Women's Division Wrestlers, but they aren't really utilizing to the fullest of any extent - which is typical of the WWE, focusing on creating too few mega-stars and not creating enough stars.

They really to add more women to the SD roster. It just seems....like it's lacking more name-power.

Last year, when they began the Women's Revolution on the Main Roster - they often seemed to have Women Tag Team Matches on either show, before the Raw/SD Roster Split and all - so why there wasn't Women's Tag Team Belts on the main roster was absolutely beyond me. With a huge emphasis on teams in the past year the likes of Team Bella; Team PCB; Team BAD; Team Bad + Blonde; the new Charlotte + Dana Brooke team - again, a lack of Women's Tag Belts during this whole Revolution was beyond me.

About Heath Slater not be drafting - this could be great, if they actually make an angle out of this and do something w/ Slater here. A true Heath Slater push has been LONG overdue.
