^What I don't get is... Their PRO sale is likely to suck, but this week's sale has been great. Even without the RetailMeNot coupon, we were getting Doom, Dark Souls, Uncharted, Far Cry, Borderlands etc. at really strong prices. Will this week stack with that PRO day?

I got back like 7 $5 bills today and was wondering what the deal was. Guess they were low on cash. Reading the last page or so, looks like they just say "too bad" and tell you to go to another gamestop if they're tapped out?

I'm trying to cash out all my ebay credit on Best Buy gift cards, which I'm using to buy 3DS games, trade those games into gamestop, and essentially just end up with straight up cash.

Hope they don't run out of cash, as the trade-ins I have yet to do are worth quite a bit more than the early trade-ins I've done.

Almost feel like they're going to end this promo early too, because of the above (even though they're going to make a crap ton when they inevitably sell all the games that are being traded in due to this promo).

Some how I find this very hard to believe. That would mean your store did at least 60k sales in one day which would just be crazy. I work the highest volume store in our district and biggest deposit we ever had cash was like 5k lol.
I worked at a top 5 store... It was during the release of ps4 and Xbox one so yeah. It was also a black friday.

We also did 170k in sales that day so yeah...

Really its just in the end don't be shocked if a gamestop has to turn you away because they run out of cash. When people from CAG come in and do 600-1000 in trades for cash, that is way outside the norm lol.

Lets end the convo about "guess how much is in the gs safe" because who honestly cares.
Nahhh

Like I said, I was only trying to trade in a $27.50 game. If you don't have that much in your register, you're probably in trouble. I've seen at other nearby GameStops they either keep bigger bills under the tray in the register, or some keep extra money in a pouch behind the counter. Just saying, if they're gonna have a month long promotion where they're trying to entice people to sell their stuff for cash, then corporate needs to make a bigger effort than normal to make sure the stores have enough cash... or at least be willing to have the employees write checks to people.

Doesn't matter so much what you're trading in if before you got there they did some abnormal trades and were giving out a ton of money in cash. Might not even be just trades, could have had someone return a large purchase for cash.

Shit happens. No reason to get upset about it really. As long as values don't drop when you go back or if they do the honor it than no harm no foul.

one of the GS's I went to mentioned they didn't have much cash on hand due to the promo. Said they had alot of systems coming in.

Got a few of those pokemon's on hold at best buy. Not sure if I should just cash out at GS or store credit and flip it back to GS a couple times.

Right, but surely they're expecting more people to come in and sell stuff for cash, so I'm saying they should have more cash than usual if they're gonna run promotions like this. And that's the thing, stealth bumps usually end after Monday so the value was probably going to drop >_> had to drive a couple towns over and it cost me more time and gas than I thought it would.

They do carry more cash than normal so its not like they aren't expecting more cash to be handed out. Shit happens. Sucks but you can't do nothing about it. There is a point where you have too much cash on hand and then just asking to get robbed.

You can knock over racks and throw glitter.

Especially when GS just keeps a pouch of cash lying behind the counter lol

Basically but what else can they do if they have no cash on hand?
True.

I just wish they would accept sealed games. Once the game is open, it loses like 20% of its value (if not more), and if they don't have enough cash then you have to resort some other means of selling it.

All I can say is what an inconvenient time to cut us off from eBay gift cards lol.

If all else fails, I guess I can just buy a couple copies of doom and flip it back to beat buy, and then get an eBay gift card at best buy.

Converted all my GS gift cards to cash through 22 games. The store was almost out of cash when I was done and they had to pull out some sort of scale to weigh all the bills I got.

In other news, looks like some of the values dropped as expected.  L4D2 is down to a $12 based, along with a few others.   Pokemon is stilling holding value.

yea I see one piece and street fighter v tanked while gta v, dark souls 3 and uncharted 4 seemed to of held along with the pokemon.
Just saw on Facebook, they are guaranteeing values like $30 for overwatch and smash bros u, and $25 for uncharted 4, pokemon or and as, and dark souls 3 through the 14th of August

Edit: they also have a button for PRO day on the sale page that says over $400 of savings, but clicking it just takes you to the store finder.

How reliable is GameStop on honoring saved trades from their app?
Very YMMV depending on the manager. I have reasonable luck getting them to do it. The two times the app and in store had different values I got the higher value but both times it took an argument.

When do Best Buy trade in values update? Because so far doom and battleborn are holding
That's what I was just wondering. I would like to complete another run to finish my 3x move of each to BB for eBay gift cards. Damn you gamestop for getting rid of eBay cards with credit!!

Can you only trade 1 copy per title/platform in a single day with BB or something? I haven't ever traded to them. Read the FAQ which mentions 3x being the "don't ban me" limit but doesn't mention what they will take in a single visit.

No you can do 3 but it isn't always easy finding a GameStop with 3 each per platform.

Tempted to make a run since I think I can pick up 3 of each and I have enough GS credit to do it. Hopefully someone will chime in on whether the values are still holding instore.

I traded in 4 copies of battleborn (2 each system) and 2 dooms yesterday and the BB employee didn't say anything about it.

Now with gamestop is there a limit on how many copies of the same game purchased with pur?(I don't think so but just want make sure) And your able to trade in 4 copies of the same title per platform and the 5th gets you flagged correct? I'm a have to start keeping track :p

Saw that Fallout 4 (PS4) and Red Dead Redemption (360) went down in trade value today. Does anyone think we'll see another bump before the cash promo ends on 8/14?

There's always a chance, but most likely we won't--these weekend bumps tend to happen towards the end of a given month.

So the $25 values are confirmed still holding at BB instore? I know it shows on the website as still holding but I don't want to make the trip without some confirmation.
They can tank at any time.

If you try to trade more than one of the same game, they can deny you but you shouldn't have a problem unless the CS rep is a jerk.

Sorry I ment to say Yesterday (Its 3:30AM in Hawaii, so it still feels like "today/yesterday"). Values for best buy can tank anytime honestly. Just check values before you head to gamestop to be sure. I've had values tank while I was at best buy once, it was about 7PM Hawaii time which is like 1AM eastern. Checked values on my phone while at gamestop and got to best buy which was 4 mins away and values dropped lol.
