I'm at 1064 GB so far this month...hopefully Comcast doesn't start imposing a cap.  Two Xbox One's and a PS4 eat up a lot of data  (hopefully when the kids go back to school that will drop down to 500 GB or so a month)

I think once my Xbox is up to date we won't even reach 1tb in a monthly basis.

If you have internet with AT&T U-verse and you have some other service bundled with it, they tend to suspend the download limit.

Sounds like you don't like racing games. I can only think of a handful of games that don't have enclosed tracks, but even then by definition if a race consists of laps then you're driving in circles (ok, loops but it's still going around the same scenery).

As for the difficulty, one of the great things about Forza is custom fine tuning the balance between arcade and simulation. Try turning on some traction assist or adjust steering sensitivity, see if that improves your performance. I fiddled with the knobs until finishing 3rd was my median, as that seemed to hit the sweet spot of fun for me.

I like Need for Speed (not the latest release though -- that sucked), and racing in GTA V. The thing with those games is that you're not driving loops in a fixed arena. That feels limiting (and, subjectively to some people, boring). Plus in those games you can also drive around before and after races; you can interact with the environment. That adds to the variety and fun factor. You're not just driving in circles, then looking at a menu screen, then driving around in a different shaped circle/loop, etc. I also like Forza Horizon, too. You can race in circles, but you can also drive around in an open world for fun.

I'm not knocking on Motorsports. I'm sure people who like driving sims will enjoy it. I don't care for all that detail (tire pressure, choice of wheels, etc.). I just want to get in a pretty car and have fun driving around.

You can play in solo mode so that no hooligans attack you or anything. You might still have to deal with AI jerks every now and then but only if you carry a lot of cargo and they think it's valuable. The missions are for you to choose to your liking. Some stuff is obviously worth more than other so you can decide what missions to take. They have transport and smuggling missions that are exactly what you described or if you buy a bigger ship and upgrade the cargo racks you can just buy goods and transport them to other systems to try and make a few bucks, but unless you have a good trading route in mind it won't be a lot of gain. There are some websites you can go to which shows what goods trade at in certain places.

I think I'll preorder Recore disc from Microsoft store so I can get the $15 of Xbox money.
Then I'll use that $15 to help get Forza Horizon 3 digitally.
Then I think I'll get Titanfall 2 from Best Buy for the 20% off and $10 gift card...

Still on the fence for Battlefield 1, CoD infinite and Gears 4. It's so many shooters this fall I think I'm better off waiting for sales on some since I can't play 4 shooters at once.

NBA 2K17's THE PRELUDE will be FREE for everyone to download on 9/6. No need for the base game. You can create your player and take them through college. If you plan on buying 2K17, your player's stats will carry over. Trailer here.

As far as summer/fall, I was fully on board with Titanfall 2 until the beta sort of vomited all over itself. Leaning more towards Gears and possibly Battlefield now, but not ruling Titanfall out if feedback is improved once it's out. FH3 is also likely.

Same here. Had already preordered Titanfall 2 and that was the only game I had planned to get til 2017. They said they made changes so this weekend's beta should be different. I'll test it out first before deciding, but if I skip Titanfall, then I might reluctantly have to get BF1.

And this time the titans don't have electric smoke or anything for defense when you get rodeoed so defending against quick pilots is a chore and a half. They didn't do anything to change the loadout system as far as I can tell. You still have to use an ability slot just to hang on walls....

I actually liked the first beta, but there's just too much this fall and I see Titanfall dropping in price the fastest.

 
Have Forza preordered, will be preordering Gears.  I think the only other sure things will be Pokemon Sun and Moon.  Maybe Dragon Quest 7.  Still have the PS1 version shrink wrapped (with TRU clearance sticker) ... somewhere.

Electric smoke is still in the game. It's now mapped to the Left D-pad when playing as the Ion Titan, I played so many matches last weekend before i notice the teeny tiny icon on the Titan HUD.

I love walking simulators and Dear Esther is my least favorite one I've ever played. Which is weird because I love Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

I second this. I really enjoyed Gone Home and I absolutely loved To the Moon (if you call that one a walking simulator), but Dear Esther has almost no plot; what there's is barely coherent. It has a few really pretty environments but otherwise I don't recommend it.

We need a CAG Gears 4 clan for multiplayer/Horde. I didn't play Halo 5 at all because I'm not really a Halo kinda guy but I'll be down for Gears 4 anytime.

imo yes. In order to be able to land on planets I believe you have to have Horizons and that comes in the Deluxe Version or you can get it by it self. It would be better to get the Deluxe if you are going to get the game. If you get just the standard you can fly around and it also comes with Arena which is the pvp.

I have games with saves from 2000 and maybe some others a little earlier. So no you definitely are not the only one. In fact I left a walkthrough incomplete on GameFAQ's, I was a kid back then. I will finish it someday, it has only been 15-16 years.

I bought the mass effect trilogy a couple years ago from Hastings for $20, played a couple hours of the first one and haven't gone back yet. It's hard for me to get into those titles I missed that I know are huge time sinks. Maybe once my kids are all teenagers I'll have time to play it.

I've sunk a bit of time into Mafia 2, Wheel of Fortune from the sale, Toy Story 3 and I've started into Bioshock (already beat infinite but never played 1 and 2) We just bought a recliner that is now right in front of a tv w the 360 on it. It makes it easy to play 360 games now.

Have to say TF2 is MUCH better this weekend. Still could use some tweaks to be a bit faster paced like the original but the Titanfalls are more frequent (still not as often as TF 1) and mobility is faster.

Good to see they took the feedback to heart. Didn't know if we'd see as much change this weekend vs the final product.

May not cancel my preorder after all.

Almost wonder if they had two builds and wanted to see if the more CODish one would fly and when it backfired had this one ready to go.

Damn straight. I just grabbed Far Cry Primal like a few months ago, Rise of the Tomb Raider and recently picked up Mirror's Edge Catalyst on good deals. fuck, I'm still playing Skyrim atm lol.

I also picked up the S controller, due to another deal on this glorious site, and am really liking the textured grip and improved bumpers.
