@Everyone on CAG That Fakeybro'd this

So, how do y'all like this actual game?

How's the gameplay?

Combat? Loot/Gear?

Pawn System?

Story?
Gameplay/combat is good overall. Combat is really good for an open world action rpg. Unfortunately exploration is whatever, the world as a whole is fairly uninteresting aside from the design of the larger monsters, which is superb. Loot/gear is pretty run of the mill for an rpg w/random loot mechanics. Pawn system is talked about a lot but I didn't find it engaging at all. Story and lore is pretty dull.

I thought the game was like a 7.5/10 or so, good game but has some pretty heavy flaws. The combat and monster design are great, but everything else I thought was pretty much average at best. Story, world, art style, etc, are pretty much generic af. I think you'll think it's the bee's knees though.

Christ. Another company falls by Square Enix's hand... and they most likely kept the rights to Sleeping Dogs. If we ever get a sequel, it won't be anything like what we would like.

May they all get jobs soon.

fuck Square Enix.

WTH were they (United Front Games) not working on Sleeping Dogs 2 in the first place?
They probably didn't really have that much money. After Triad Wars bombed, Smash and Grab was their last big hope. And they couldn't even live long enough to get any money from it.

Dragon's Dogma was pretty fun. It's sort of like a cut-rate DA: Inquisition albeit with very little roleplaying opportunity but possibly more entertaining combat. My only concern these days would be how active the community is so your pawn will actually get used by others.
I really dug Dragon's Dogma. I think I put close to 100 hours into it. If someone plays it and figures out how to friend me you would get my pawn for no fee.

Cleaning out my bundle junk- if anyone wants any of this and is a board regular (or at the very least someone that posts every once in awhile) just send me a PM and its yours.

So how did SE kill United Front?  You'd think they would want them to make SD2?

Also, Reds and I played Lifeless and we might have to cancel the bro event.  It's pretty awful.  Think worse than WarZ.

Not sure if I just didn't get a good feel for the game the first time I played (likely) or if the devs tweaked stuff for the worse since (also likely). Zombies autohone, so anywhere you are and you immediately have a swarm running after you.  They are twitchy as hell and hard to hit.  You spawn with a weapon, but it deteriorates after one or two zombie kills (both melee weapons I found did that).  Scavenging is not plentiful and hard due to the zombies constantly after you.  One zombie makes you basically blind for around 5-10 seconds.  At one point Reds and I were in a mall with 20-30 zombies below us.  Game also runs like crap with FPS dropping into the teens with all settings on low.  Spoder may have been right, 49 cents may have been about 49 cents too much.

you could throw it all to the Steamgifts scum.

Did SE force the next SD franchise games Triad Wars to be an online-only MMO?

B/c SE with ideas to do odd things to a game and/or franchise - to attempt to try to make more $ - would not surprise me.

We all know the force SE put on Eidos Montreal to do all kinds of stuff w// Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. SE did cause the split of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided team in two so that other team could get to work on a Mankind Divided Part 2 (while Part 1 was still underway in development); and at the last minute (more or less) they wanted placed on top of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided a micro-transaction portion quickly, which wound-up being Breach.

EDIT:

Plus, we all know how they're (Square Enix) on the Episodic games kick - they basically split Hitman 2016 up (into pieces); and the FF7 Remake is going to be Episodic.

Eh, or you could thank them for without their money Sleeping Dogs would have died as a cancelled Activision title by the name of True Crime: Hong Kong. Look I'm no SE supporter, not a fan of the new Tomb Raider direction and Final Fantasy has been crap for years, but I don't understand the hate towards SE here. United Front Games is a private company that has made (and/or helped make) games for Sony, Microsoft and Disney since Sleeping Dogs was released.

I do agree on one thing... I hope they all get good jobs with a minimal amount of life disruption as possible.

Then you haven't been following SE for the last ten years as they blame both their customers and their dev studios for everything bad that happens to them.  (not meeting the company's grossly inflated sales projections every time one of their game doesn't sell to their expectations).

Well it's kinda your fault that FFXIII and its sequels didn't sell well.

I mean, if we're being honest, here...

SE was going heavily into F2P because they expected it to be next big thing. We know from leaks, even Just Cause 3 was supposed to be F2P or paid game with heavy microtransactions. Even Tomb Raider 2013 had planned to include microtransactions.

Second part explains why Mankind Divided ended just as story started unwrapping and season pass DLC doesn't seem to continue, just some 'cut content'. Also stupid one time items from DLC. and for some reason those two item DLC don't show as owned on Steam Store = fuck squeenix.

Oh, I get the dislike for them... Just not understanding why they are getting blamed for the failure of a private company. Maybe Sony should take the blame for not asking for a Modnation Racer or a LittleBIGPlanet Kart for the PS4... Or maybe MS for not asking them to port more Xbox 360 games to the Xbone.

My mini-review on Fragmented for anyone that cares-

The interface is terrible to use, as bringing up the map or accepting invites to Guilds can cause an issue where you can't exit them properly, and there are a lot of enemies that also travel in huge packs compared to most survival games, but there is a decent game under there. Combat is decent and enemies are easy enough to avoid, but it makes it hard to scavenge since they are always nearby.

The map is worthless, as it basically just zones in on your location but doesn't allow you to zoom out to see the entire map and see exactly where you are in the game. I had a hard time telling how big the world is exactly because of this. There doesn't appear to be a whole lot to craft other than structures which don't serve much of a purpose as far as I can tell. The game has a bit more of a sci-fi feel to it than other survival games.

I wouldn't recommend this at $5 in its current state, but if it gets updates to fix the interface a bit and adds more crafting it would be a fun game (always a gamble with EA games).

I liked Smash + Grab for what it was, but I would have expected it to be a F2P game eventually if they didn't add a massive amount of content to it. Just seems like something that would get old after a while. Cool concept, but a bit too simple and not enough depth with the state it was in. No regrets about the steam removal, but it sucks that we probably won't see a sequel to Sleeping Dogs. Probably my favorite GTA style game next to the Saints Row series.

In death, the power and influence of MysterD will only increase exponentially.

I guessbwe'll find out on Thursday if this is coming to PC? If so, it's fakey time.

Edit: the Gamespot article seems to imply that it's console only? I guess no one at Rockstar knows about bro nights.

Big companies often give bonuses to developers if their games sell specific amounts. But according to Squeenix, 1.6 million copies on PC (and whatever amount of console versions) is not successful.

Look up what they did to GRIN. Square hasn't been a dev-friendly company in over 10 years.

RDR2, eh? Humble Rockstar Bundle confirmed for today.
Would like to see this, but their Steam library sucks. What would be in the dollar tier? Midnight Club 2 and Max Payne 1-2? BTA for Bully and Max Payne 3? $15 for L.A. Noire Complete and the GTA Collection, minus V? The only thing missing after that is Manhunt.

Daily deal is Blackhole. 75% off ($2.24, or $3.49 for complete edition).

It's on my wishlist and I'm half tempted to mora--

--nevermind. Will wait for $1 Hamble tier or IG.
lol.. that was the same price a day ago. It was a weeklong deal, I believe.. and it was a better deal than it is now because the upgrade dlc was discounted (decent for people that got the base game free).

no implication, it is not coming to pc at launch. hopefully it will be a gta v situation where it comes to pc after a while.
I would think it's pretty obvious at this point that Rockstar is purposefully leaving out a PC version at launch so as to get impatient people to buy the console version, and then double-dip later on for the PC version. It's what they did with GTA5 after all.

Yeah, the content was lacking, but I'm actually very said we won't ever get to play that again. Not sure who they thought was going to pay $20 for that with the limited modes.

I am so happy right now. Not only does it mean I will get a PS4, but MysterD will continue to have purpose in his life for at least the next 10 years.

So I guess MysterD will now have 2 gaming platforms to avoid playing with you guys

I think CockStar is taking a direct shot MysterD with this whole RDR and RDR2 PC port business.

OR

Maybe we should sacrifice the toaster to appease the angry R* gods.

Praise be unto them. Ugh-men.

Yup it seems to stutter way more now, man this Windows Store experiment has been a complete failure on their games
May I ask what your system specs? Because the game generally feel a lot smoother to me after the update. The wheelspin feels a bit sluggish now but overall everything else been holding constant 90+ fps for me on 1080p resolution and ultra settings with dynamic on or off. They actually make the customization menu a bit smoother now. I am running a 6700k with a 1070 and 16gb ddr4 3000mhz ram though.
