I think my Walmart has yours beat... They have a collector's edition copy of Tabula Rasa (a dead MMO, and one thats been dead for like 7 years) for full price.

Thanks for this. This would appear to fit my needs and is a nice upgrade over my current monitor, so I took the plunge!
You're welcome. And welcome to the 4K Monitor Club. :)

Yes, I took the plunge too.

I'll definitely use this for the 4K extra workspace, as I feel like I'm constantly switching Windows too much in 1080p. I think I'm mostly going to be gaming most things at 1080p-4K depending on performance per game + the graphics settings.

Though, from what I'm gathering - if not running a game at 4K, looks like things get a bit blurrier out in the distance in games...so looks like cranking AA way up is going to have to be part of the plan here for me when running 1080p, 1200p, 1440p, or whatever ain't 4K on an actual 4K monitor.

I'm likely the odd one but I pretty much run everything at full screen and just alt tab between things as needed no matter what the resolution is. (Been that way since 640 on up.)

Yep; I do Alt-Tab a lot. Trying to cut that down + get more windows on screen. I don't usually full-screen multiple windows for Windows Explorer. I want more work-space.

Office Depot had an early black Friday deal on a 29" Dell ultrawide for 199.99.

It's the one I have and a good one though I would check to see if the one Best buy will be selling for 179.99 had free sync.

Rise of the Tomb Raider for $30?  Worth the fakeybro or just wait it out for sub $20?

In b4 y u no git on free w/ spicy sausage and beer

I jumped on Rise of the Tomb Raider for $30, sure it will be cheaper next year but if you're really wanting to play it it's a great price.

I now need a 1440p monitor for this 1080....because it's overkill for 1080p x.x

WTB glitch
Why not buy the $250 Samsung 4K TN-panel monitor on Amazon now or at Best Buy on Friday?

EDIT:

Your GTX 1080 should be able to handle most games at 1440p or 4K at some decent settings with 30FPS/60FPS (depends per game), going by benchmarks.

If you're not happy w/ performance at 4K, you can always do what I'm going to do: just downscale from 4K to a lower-res' & crank AA up.

Though, at 4K...you'll be stuck w/ 60hz with DisplayPort. If you're into above-60hz and/or must have either IPS or PLS, then I can see why you'd skip this monitor.

4K tech just isn't there yet. I'd rather wait and get great frames, or get 1440 now. Good monitors are over $500 tho.

I would also never get a 1440 or 4K TN panel. I'll play my FPS games on my 144hz 1ms TN. The 1440 or 4K will be purely for other games (IPS is what I would get).

That's fair enough.

I can understand some would rather go IPS or PLS for the panel; and/or really want to be over 60hz.

I'm used to TN-panels + 60hz 5ms - so, I'm fine w/ the Samsung 28'' 4K 1ms RT. This certainly is going to beat what the hell I have been using (23'' HP 2311x 1080p with 5ms RT).

Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury is $35 on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Hyperion-Gaming-Fusion-910-004069/dp/B00LZVNWIA/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1479672666&sr=8-16&keywords=gaming+mouse

Curious: Anyone ever use one of these? Anyone have any thoughts on this model?

I see it's been cheaper, digging on Reddit. Not buying, but curious how good it may (or may not) be.
I would wait...BBY has 50% off that amazon will probably PM and the G502 will be about that cheap

(Costco.com) Price99.99$

Shipping & Handling Included*

Features:
  • G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse with Rubber Grips
  • G513 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard with Integrated Palm Rest & Adjustable Feet
**

Found this combo online for those interested in a combo

Interested like FissFiss suggested in seeing about the G502 and if amazon will price match

For those interested, Target and amazon have Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void for $18 for physical copy.  The Black Friday information I could find suggested $20 for this title as the low.  Amazon currently still taking orders but out of stock at this time.  Good price  for those wanting to play this title and finish the last episode of Starcraft 2.

I just realized my sentence was horribly constructed. Best Buy will have 50% off on Black Friday of all Logitech KB/M.
They seem to do this yearly. Last year and, I think, the year before they did the same deal. Picked up a G502 and G910 last year. Both of which are pretty nice for the 50% price but I wouldn't pay msrp or close to it.

Alright, so looks like no free syncs. Do it just comes down to whether people want to pay the extra $20 for the Dell or wait to save $20 on the LG on black Friday.
I'm considering an ultrawide myself right now, I just don't know which to go with between the Dell and the LG. Or even just going with a standard 27" widescreen.

Will wait. I still ain't played my copies of Stacraft 1 Battle Chest; and both Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty & Heart of the Swarm.

EDIT 2:

ur running 4K with that 970gtx? how does that serve u so far?
I will find out when the monitor shows up.

I've been looking for a bit at going over 1080p, since getting the 970. 1080p60fps isn't a challenge here; most games are on either High to Ultra with 60FPS on the 970.

I've been looking at 1440p monitors for a bit, but lately seen these 4K's go to similar pricing since of late (i.e. the Acer 25'' that was $200 at Costco recently + now the Samsung 28'' 4K at $250).

The plan is: if something ain't running well for me at 4K, then just downscale to something below 4K - i.e. 1440p, 1200p, or 1080p. If need be, crank up AA a bit to diminish the "blurriness in the distance" factor.

This Samsung 28'' 4K 1ms certainly has to be better than what the hell I have (HP 23'' 2311x TN-panel with 5ms RT).

18 bucks for a Blizzard game is about my buy price for backlogging... Thanks! :D

Looks like Metro 2033 Redux is $5.

Now, why couldn't they (Amazon) have had that for $5 back when GOG had their last sale + was doing the GOG Connect for this game?

Meh.
Didn't bundle stars have this as part of a bundle a few months back... y u no win?

( I know the bundle sucked... but those filthy Europeans couldn't redeem the metro part so the cesspool was full of sellers.)

Logitech G502 Proteus Core is $35 at BBY and Proteus Spectrum is $40

(for elite preview, so it will be that price in a couple days)
