WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Can you trade in multiple consoles, on different days I imagine, to take advantage of the bonus? (2 Wiis + 2 3ds = Switch)

My $8 Assassin's Creed Syndicate and the $12 Deus Ex from right after the holidays is going to gamestop for $44.

I don't know that I'll have time to clear my WiiU before trading in today after work, so supposing my GS will even have reservations left should I trade it in hoping they wipe it for me or see if I can reserve the system today then bring the system in tomorrow and trade it toward that reservation? I saw someone mention that earlier, not sure if it'll work.

So I ended up taking my Wii U in along with a couple of Wiimotes + nun chucks and got $210. I'm really pleased with that amount so I asked them about bringing in my Xbox One later to get the extra $75 and was told it was fine. I just have to finish paying off the Switch and then can do whatever with what's left over.

How does this work? On the trade in page on gamestop.com there's a link of eligible titles, but the link goes nowhere.

I'm heading over to GS to hopefully trade a console towards a switch (if any preorders are left), I'd like to trade a game with the $5 coupon, and I'd like to trade a game for a free t shirt. I'm going to ask if I can do 3 transactions and see what kind of mood the employee is in.

Do you know what games are eligible and what tshirts they are? The website just redirects me to find a store and when I asked about it earlier today, they had no clue what I was talking about. Manager just said he got off a conference meeting and they didn't mention anything.

Well, I guess it might be a bit YMMV. I asked about the free shirt offer but got shot down at first while doing my trades (with the RE7 +20% bonus; Promo 19206) clerk told me their store wasn't participating in the offer.

I then walked out of the store, checked the site and walked back in and showed him on the website. Clerk gladly did a charge/return on one of my trades and credited back into a new receipt, thus allowing the free shirt to be added onto a new receipt. However, the new receipt with the shirt does not show promo #19206 but rather #18856 instead. My guess is that the promo is for the free shirt.

Free shirt and Resident Evil stacked for me no problem , I also pulled out the $5 coupon which also stacked for the tri fecta.

I complained to the email CSR blackbeard posted a while ago about one of my Cyber Monday coupons not working properly. I asked if they could refund the points and was told no because the system applied it correctly. I sent one follow up email and was again told no, but this time the person went through my account history and told me I traded it in (a boomerang I did that day) and was already compensated with trade credit. The wording they used made it seem like a veil threat from CSR and that they knew I had traded it in that same day I bought it. 

I guess I have to stick with the dumb CS people because I might get banned complaining to the email CSR people.

YES, someone traded 2 different systems and both received the bonus at my local GS today.

BTW, what t-shirts qualify for the trade-in promo? Does it have to be a clearance apparel or under a certain amount?

fuck lol I just traded mine yesterday when it had a $10 base. I did use a $5 coupon on it making $16 but I lost out on that chick magnet shirt :/
 
My shirt was 19.99 normal price and it promo'd
I wonder if the battlefield 1 hoodie is working with this

Well crap I just traded in 6 titles on that list, but I guess I'll settle for the $192 using my 50% Trade In PUR Day bonus instead of the car rags teeshirts.

 
What's with all these promos going on at the same time!? So do you get 3 tshirts if you trade in 3 eligible games, or is it 1 tshirt per transaction? Need to sort all these out before I go. 20% RE7 promo, $5 extra promo, tshirts, and the boost! Good week to be doing trades.

Not sure if it was already mentioned but are the stealth bumps only good for today? It should be good through the weekend but didn't one of the recent bumps only work for one day? Or was that just an anomaly?

 
I can't get my Xbox to a GameStop until the 18th or so... if they don't have switch pre orders available by that time, will the extra $75 still be added?

According to the email I got it is good through the 16th but they can change there minds whenever about certain TIVs. Soo I would get while the gettin's good today.

Yes, but there is no guarantee that the console's TIV will still be where it is (the $75 bonus TIV should still be there).

 
I have a stack of games I want to trade. I've never done the extra 20% toward a game. Do I tell them I want to preorder resident evil 7 apply the credit and cancel it later. Or can I just say put $5 down for the game, get extra credit then cancel that preorder later. I want the 20% bonus but don't care for resident evil 7 and will probably wait for a deep discount later. Thanks in advance

You can do any of those things. You can also pick up the game at release and then return it. Some favor this method because it doesn't take a pre-order away from that employee.

Just tell them you want to put $5 down, if they tell you otherwise like you need to put the full amount down they are full of shit.

 
so after 3 hours starting with 80 best buy credit,

went to 8 gamestops and 2 best buys

ended up with 250 gamestop credit and 4 free shirts.

took advantage of a 50% coupon, $5 coupon, and 20% resident evil bonus.

so with the 50 gamestop credit i already used on a switch, was able to pay off my Nintendo Switch :)

thanks blackbeard for the list and chronoslayer about the free shirts.
