Zelda Breath of the Wild Special/Master Editions, Amiibo- Discussion

My LE from Amazon UK is in KY, US. My SE from Walmart is IN, US. I'm okay with waiting, but it's quite funny to see a UK shipment get here quicker even though the Walmart order shipped at around the same time as the Amazon UK order with relatively the same shipping speeds. Zoras, man. They can sure swim faster than Gorons can roll, I guess.

Amazon sent me a box with all 3 in it.  It's taller than me!!!  Overall got 5 boxes and 1 envelope, not all switch stuff though but the amazon box  made me laugh.

 
My copy of Zelda Wii U actually did arrive this morning (nice surprise). Really didn't think best best would come through.
Was too tired to pick up my SE today. Did anyone have luck getting a poster today at Best Buy or gamestop? Figure it wouldn't hurt to ask.

GS had posters and it was not riddled with Switch logos like you saw previously. It is double sided and it is nice and clean.

I asked when i picked up my SE around noon at bestbuy, but they said they were out. I figured so considering the size of the line I saw last night.

All I saw was a stack of about 40 switches behind store pickup, many with handwritten names taped on them. Not sure what that was about. They also had some of the boring accessories like cords and grips and maybe gray joycons, and one standard guide, but nothing interesting left I could see. Their switch display area was surprisingly lacking unless I missed a table somewhere else. Just preorder cards at the front new release kiosks.

Tell me if this looks weird or not. concept design. I'm thinking about turning my display case for amiibo into a display just for my Master Sword statue, and maybe add a few Zelda amiibo in there. I would print at Fedex some tree graphics and place them in the back. Maybe on the front side as well, to block the Nike logo. I'm thinking about adding a plug in puck light at the top, angled to add some neat lighting.

I like the idea, where on earth did you get a Nike display case?

I can see the few of the new Guardian Amiibo looking amazing next to the master sword.

So when I swung by Best Buy to pick up my order, since they know me there I was talking with the employee who usually rings me up. She let me know they did in fact get 3 extra ME. Damn... :/

Also: while that Best Buy was out of posters, GameStop had plenty. I asked and the guy gave me two so I could display both sides if I wanted (didn't even ask me to buy anything). Told me they had way more than neccessary for pre-orders so he was just giving them away to whoever asked. :) So if anyone still wants a poster, try asking at your gamestops.

Looks real nice! Definitely cover the awkward Nike logo if you can tho.
But hey, if you're going that far why not go a little farther?
Get some fake grass and rocks and recreate this:

I know the dollar store has a floral garden area with fake rocks (even ones covered in moss), and fake moss alone. They might have fake grass there too (idk if this stuff is seasonal though). That'd be a good place to start. Keep the printed trees if you go this route tho! It'd really compliment the whole look. :)
And definitely post pics of whatever ya end up doing. I'd love to see it.
 
Think anyone will just sell me a ME sword? I know it's a long shot since it's the reason most people got it, but have you guys seen any listings or nah? What realistically am I paying for this?

I feel so stupid for not preordering either collectors edition...they were both in my cart at one point. The case turned me off though and I didn't really want the map or coin. Played the game, seen the case looked exactly like Links slate. Now I want everything. Damnit!

Bro. Thank you SO much. I clicked your link thinking it was a lost cause because I checked online and in my local Target yesterday and no stock showed. I got so hype when that same store showed in stock. Went and grabbed the last Special Edition they had. A cancelled pre order maybe?

Doesn't matter now! Thanks again! Now to figure out what to do with my standard edition.

If it's still sealed, just get a refund. There is no way to flip a standard copy. There are a bunch of those out in the open.

Unfortunately it is open. Didn't think I would get a SE and the hype consumed me. I have failed CAG I know....

GameStop not taking Switch games yet?

They are, actually. You'll get about $30 for it at GS. I'd say try to sell it to a friend who is willing to buy it for $45 - $50 since it's opened and used once or something. Better than getting $30 for a new release.
 
Would UPS allow me to pick up my Master Edition at a UPS location? I'm not sure if I'll be home when the box arrives.

Are you signed up for the ups my choice thing? They have a free option for that where you can select to have them hold it for pick up. I believe you can also direct them to leave it by a back door or inside your garage if you provide the code for it. Either way, they didn't ask for a signature for me so your only worry should be a big brown box being left alone outside.

Some of those items need the paid UPS My Choice Premium upgrade, which you should be able to get a year's worth for $10 with coupon code BVZR8O4S4 or BY5AY1MM7 .

 
Not sure if this has been shown but the Case Art on the Zelda BotW Special Edition & Basic Edition is different.

They're accessible for a one-time fee, though it's well worth the year for the $10 if nothing else to auto-upgrade USPS Mail Innovations packages to standard Ground packages.

Yeah, I was able to do one now... just as I got a cancellation email about my SE online order. Hopefully it gets confirmed. Unfortunately, this is form the worst WM in the area. Same one I picked up some recent $20 Wii U games from and they were in trash shape.

 
Silly request but any of you CAGers willing to part with their Master Edition box? Literally just the black cardboard outer box.

I figured someone would have each of the components eBayed or something but no luck.

 
Walmart canceled my SE that I had ordered days ago.  Guess that's it then.  I didn't snag either of the editions, though I really wanted the ME.

There's still a WM near me that has the SE in stock... I did a store pick up for one after WM cancelled my order. I can try to do another store pick up order for you if you want and ship it to you (not sure how much since I haven't picked mine up yet) but I think you're pretty close to me so maybe another $10-15. Not sure if it's still there b/c every other WM is OOS... seems odd that one store would still have one.

Stay on the lookout for LE on Amazon UK. There could be a chance it goes in stock. WM could have it near you, as mentioned. However, I can see how there is a possibility of it being OOS. Best of luck getting one, m80. Hope you find something.
 
Someone here thought slightly under $400 before launch was the cheapest the ME would sell for, but it seems to be around $330 or less on ebay now.  I really wonder how many they actually made.

 
Thanks again DetectiveConanA113 for the fake moss suggestion. Almost done with my display. Buying some fake leaves and printing a Zelda logo to cover the Nike logo later today. The sword is a little more durable than I thought it would be, but part of little plant snapped off as I pulled it out of the box. Super glue will fix it though.

I might put the amiibo at the bottom. That shelf is so close to the sword.
