Here's a comparison of pre and post patch Mass Effect, it seems to bring this scene up to actual Mass Effect standards. Very light spoiler warning, this is from about an hour or so in. Hopefully all the backlash gets EA to get their heads out of their asses and give these games enough time to be polished properly in the future.

My guess is the pricepoint for Scorpio is $599 bare minimum, but I am expecting more like $699-799.

The GTX 1070 is like a $400 card. Ryzen processors are like $300-400. 12 GB Ram is $100. Considering they are doing mass manufacturing I think they might be able to get it down to a $600 price point but at that point how much are they taking a hit on. I really can't see anything lower than $599 but if they can, it will be a heck of an achievement.

It's still using Jaguar cores. There is no way It's going to be more then $500. I'm hoping for $400 either way.

 
I skipped the Bulletstorm discount. Decided to save my BBY giftcards for something better, plus have a B2G1 coupon at GS expiring on 15th so maybe used one by then

It's going to take a long time for 4k to be the norm in broadcast. It may slowly start to become a little more normal in cable networks, especially sports sooner than later. There's a lot to go into it at large prices. 4K equipment on site, 4k video editing equipment/live studios, trucks etc, 4k transmission, 4k reception for distributors and equipment for retransmission. And the OTA networks have additional hurdles such as local distribution. Without major compression, 4k would be a real challenge to transmit over the air. Currently, a typical station's bandwidth provides for one HD channel and two SD channels without compression. Three SD channels if the SD channels are compressed some. 4k would probably take up more than what is currently available. Plus, bandwidth is getting redistributed with much more of it going to cell phone and other non-TV signals meaning stations are going to have less bandwidth to work with. Providers that receive signal via fiber or cable, etc could carry the true 4k signal, but many receive local channels OTA for redistribution even in major markets. Of course, that may be acceptable to networks.

Nothing has changed. Ps4 pro can still do 4k at a much lower price point. The difference between checkerboard 4k and native 4k is imperceptible unless looking under a microscope. Sony still has the edge on exclusives by a wide margin and while multiplatform games might run a little better on Scorpio, playstation will still have advantage of timed and ps4 specific exclusives with all the major 3rd party games which is a real bummer.

No way will they bundle a console with kinect mandatory, used games non playable and make it always online and charge $100 more than the competition! Oh yes and have no plans for the Kinect game wise despite making it mandatory and making a huge buzz how it'll change gaming with it's many features!

And no way would Microsoft release a console with an over 50% failure rate!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeey!  Popped a rare achievement tonight for placing a sticky bomb on a fat molded guy's face and blowing it up.  Makes me feel accomplished, as I've been playing Resident Evil 7 since... Mid February? and still haven't beat the game lol.  Just entered the Salt Mines, so I'm determined to finish up this weekend.  I played one game of Wildlands on release night and haven't touched it since.  Once I'm done with RE, I'm gonna focus on some multiplayer games.  My goal will be to play daily for a week.

Forza Horizon 3 has 4 new Challenges up for the weekend. One of them gets you the AMC Pacer!

If you're like me and usually get killed versus randoms online, I can confirm you can get the Triple Out Challenge in a Drag Race, which few people enter and a S2 980 or higher car with high speed and acceleration can normally get you in the Top 3.

 
No fucking way they price it at $800. And no way they throw in an elite controller.

It'll be $499. $100 more than the PS4 Pro is as high as they can go without dooming the console. You can bet that they know that, as well.

It's only because they knew if they didn't fix it that they would be out of the console business, and were willing to spend three billion dollars to fix it. still the craziest thing that has happened in the industry since the gaming crash in the eighties.

Nope. Just saying Microsoft (and every other game company) are prone to making dumb mistakes. Besides $600 or whatever for a console primarily aimed at the hardcore wouldn't be their dumbest idea.

In a weird way my 3 RROD were at least somewhat responsible for loyalty to the Xbox brand. Yeah they broke but I never paid for any of the repairs and their customer service has always been top notch in my dealings with them. I'm sure not everyone had the same experience though. For myself customer service is very important, it's the reason I buy so many Microsoft products or use Amazon as much as I do. On a side note, how is PlayStation customer service/tech support? I've never heard much about them.

I think I have only dealt with Sony one or twice. Once when I traded my PS3 before deactivating it from my account. Right around PS4 launch. Other then pretty long wait time on the phone they were good. My first PS3 worked fine till I traded it. Other then sounding like a Jet plane. The second one I didn't use much but was like brand new when I got rid of it so no need for support.

Friend of mine had a 20GB fat die after like 8 years or something. He wanted that POS and instead of a newer PS3 (or PS4). So he paid like $150 to have them repair it. They sent him a coffin and he sent it back. I think he got it back sooner then expected and last I heard it worked fine (I think he got a different one not the one he sent in). Other then ripping him off I guess a good experience for him as well.

I have dealt with MS support twice recently and once a long time ago.  Long time ago was a wireless keyboard i bought for my FIL.  So about 10 years ago.  Thing wouldn't connect.  Was bad.  Was on Christmas eve or day.  Again other then long wait (to be expected) good experience in getting a replacement sent out.  Took a while though IRC.

More recently I had to chase after a $10 or $15 GC for buying Darksiders 2.  Annoying I had to ask for what I was entitled to.  Took longer then it should of but got a $20 Live credit for my trouble.

Also bought the wrong game on live and was allowed to return it as one time courtesy.  Which I appreciated.

 
Yeah, the 3 year extension on all 360 warranties is what saved them. I don't think I know a single person with a original model 360 that didn't have it die, and every person was able to get if fixed for free with no hassle. After I had mine fixed it never had an issue after, until recently it just started dying of old age, with fairly heavy daily use for like 8 years as the culprit.

I don't see how those 2 are relevant since neither of them are in Scorpio.

I'm still calling $599, but only time will tell. If I'm wrong because it's lower, I'll be nothing but happy about that.

Had two 360s RROD on me and the replacement I got back in 07 still works. Well, the disc drive is shot so its mainly the xbla/games on demand console. My slim 360 is for disc games. Other than long hold times on the phone, never had issues. All I hear about are the movie rebate problems from this thread. I never encountered an issue when I bought Elf.

My brother is still bitter about a Sony sound system he bought for his car from the mid 90's. Said that whenever he'd pop in a cd, it would grab the disc and leave deep scuff marks when it clamped on the cd to suck it in. Dude, let it go. Your daughter/my niece, is older than this memory you have lol
