Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Bit the bullet and bought Hot Wheels Expansion this morning. I'm at 32 hours of OT for the week, but I get a momentary reprieve tonight. Gonna play a little FH3 with my 8 year old.

Awesome writeup. Thanks for sharing this. Post back if you are able to do matchmaking or if it is random.
It's random, no friend invite option nor party option. I read the Destructoid review on the game and it pretty much sums up how I feel about the game. My major gripe with the game, which no review I have read mentions, is that the game crashes every single time you bring up the Xbox from sleep mode. Every other game resumes in the sate you left it, when you shut down your console and you have it set to instant on. This one resumes and then it crashes with a "Connection to Xbox Live lost" message.

So, no then?
I only played FH3. Can't see how any 'story' I missed from 1 and 2 maters. It really isn't much of a story. You drive around and win races, championships and challenges.

I will pickup FH2 when it goes on sale (or when I am tired of waiting for $20 or less for digital). I picked up whatever that FH2 DLC pack was a few weeks ago so just need the base game.

Both have demos. I played both demos. FH3 definitely feels more polished and looks a bit better.

There's so much to do in FH3 that there's really no need to get the older games. I think I may have enjoyed the music in 2 the most, but it's still great in 3, Pulse is so good. Also Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels are incredibly good expansions as well

I am pretty much done with everything in FH3 except some challenges I am likely never to get and the Hot Wheels DLC. I play the weekly Forzathons and screw around some still though.

Some new venues and cars should be fun. I was/am a bit concerned it will not be as polished as FH3 and I wont play it but well just add it to the pile of shame then.

There's a rewards program with the Forza franchise based on progress you've made in games across the series starting from Forza Motorsport 2.  Various things in the games (gamerscore earned, cars owned, miles driven, even buying DLC) earn points, with tiers set up for how many points you have.

https://rewards.forzamotorsport.net/en-US

https://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn10_postst262_Forza-Rewards-FAQ.aspx

When FH3 released, you got some free cars based on your tier level when you first started the game.  Not sure whether that would still apply for new players or if that only worked during the release window.  Every week, beginning at midnight UTC Friday, you can login to the site to redeem an in-game cash reward based on your level.

From a gameplay perspective, there's no reason to play the earlier Forza games, but there are some incentives if you want to stick with the series.  There are some issues from a completionist's perspective though, since the delisting of DLCs from FH1 and earlier games make completing their rewards impossible.  Unless licensing contract terms have changed, it should be FM5's turn for a digital delisting later this year.

a lot of bug fixes and multiplayer balance changes.

and for people that own deluxe or super deluxe you get 2 nomad skins, 1 pathfinder outfit, and a multiplayer pack.

It's nice to see dev/pubs supporting a game post-launch and continuing to improve it, but whatever happened to having internal focus groups instead of using the whole fucking internet as a focus group? For MMOs etc its unavoidable but the SP stuff.... the biggest fans have already bought, played, and beaten the game.

They probably have plenty of testers and such pointing out issues, but EA sets the release date and that changes what they can actually fix due to how long it takes versus how much it affects the game. The devs don't have much say in these situations, so they try to do what they can and hope for the best.

This. Plus EA has been good about post launch updates this gen. The game needed this polish but was done. I got like 80 hours with it without the polish and was happy with it. I'd prefer companies did it this way as long as the game is completely done, then post launch to what fans want.

Yeah, I know it's an industry problem and revolves around the business side of things (deadlines, etc) but it still gets under my skin.

I offered him $25, he said price was firm.

I don't mind if the "sources" are right and ME goes on hiatus. However, I sincerely hope Andromeda gets single-player DLC in the coming months.

Say what you want about Kotaku. But more often than not, Schreier gets accurate scoop by his sources.
That's fucking bullshit
This cannot honestly surprise you? The game didn't sell as well as they wanted it to. Wouldn't be surprised if Mass Effect joins Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and Skate in the EA graveyard.

EDIT: I should add that I think Andromeda is ok. Only played a bit since launch. Didn't grab me, threw it in the backlog.

Doubtful, Mass Effect is far bigger than Dead Space and Mirror's Edge (won't comment on Skate since I've never played one) ever were.

Dead Space 3 died at E3 2012 after Visceral stated that they needed to sell at least 5 million units in order to justify keeping the franchise alive when the first two games didn't even make it to 5 million combined. And the first Mirror's Edge was like another Bayonetta, a game everyone on the internet claimed to love, yet no one actually bought. The surprise was that Catalyst was actually made and released.

I'm definitely surprised by this. The crazy outrage towards the game was ridiculous and pretty unwarranted, and really makes me hate the internet "hive mind" mentality where something becomes the new flavor of the week for people to hate. The game also happens to be fantastic. Hopefully during their hiatus they are working on Jade Empire 2

What I'm taking away from the Andromeda news is I shouldn't buy it for a long while to wait and see if they do continue support and deliver any future single player or mp dlc.

Dead space 3 won't be the last dead space. It's gonna be awhile but it def isn't the end of that franchise.

as for mass effect, shitty management = shitty product, simple as that

I hope you're right but I see no light at the end of the tunnel in regards to a new Dead Space. Visceral is currently hard at work on their Star Wars game and don't think EA is allocating any resources and/or other internal teams to work on a fourth Dead Space game. Now, with the seemingly rise in popularity of horror games (in part thanks to Alien Isolation, The Evil Within, RE7 and both Outlasts) then, one far-off day, we might see poor Isaac Clarke deal with the Brethren Moons.

And I disagree on MEA being a "shitty product" but......opinions.

I own both Mirror's Edge games and both Bayonetta games. But... that shouldn't be a barometer for anything since I buy pretty much everything. Don't believe me? I own Lichdom Battlemage and The Dwarves lol.

Dead space 3 won't be the last dead space.
I hope you are right. DS is one of my favorite IP ever.

Holy fuck. A zoo kills a gorilla to save a little boy and SJW's everywhere shit their pants, but the milk industry slaughters half a million cows to drive up milk prices and nobody gives a shit.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-09-08/cow-killing-and-price-fixing-in-your-supermarket-dairy-aisle
And I quote:

In this case, lawyers from one of the premier U.S. plaintiffs’ firms alleged on behalf of American consumers that the cooperatives paid farmers to prematurely turn hundreds of thousands of cows into burgers in a sprawling scheme to prop up dairy prices.
While the conspiracy definitely needs to be shut down, this is in no way as bad as it could be. I envisioned fields of cow carcasses rotting away, but that isn't the case.

Have you ever heard of a cow killing a human? Doesn't matter how many we kill, they can't/won't fight back. Now gorillas? That's a whole different ball game. There's an ongoing movie trilogy on Apes evolving and destroying humans. We all freaked out because we didn't want to turn that into a true story and killing too many could make it happen. Koba would wreck us all.

Really I think the Mass Effect hold is more about supporting the main Bioware studio finish their new IP, especially since they just announced it was delayed, not to mention the Star Wars game Bioware Austin is supposedly working on. Even main Bioware usually alternated focus between Mass Effect and Dragon Age for the entire last generation. Sure, they had separate teams, but I think there was some overlap. I'd guess that the support team that is working on Andromeda's DLC will probably also be doing a bit of pre-production stuff the lay the groundwork for Andromeda 2, but maybe a full studio won't be on it until next year.

Dragon Age 2 probably had as bad if not worse of an overall reception compared to Andromeda, and ME3's ending caused a lot more shitflinging then the bugs of Andromeda.

https://www.polygon.com/2017/5/9/15600638/bioware-new-ip-delay

Saw this in the patch notes

"Fixed clipping issue on Sara Ryder’s casual jacket"

I think this was the most obnoxious but harmless bug for me in that 75 hours. I was also pretty surprised when I heard they messed up so bad as to have singleplayer difficulty somehow affect several things in multiplayer. At least they fixed it soon after it was discovered.

A free month of Game Pass is coming during E3, for T-Mobile customers.

Farming industry is such a convoluted and insane mess it's better not to think about it. Don't even start reading about chickens and the associated insanity that takes place with that either.

Second year in a row my WWE 2K save fucked up because "We couldn't sync your data to the cloud" forcing me to start over. Sigh. Makes me hate the whole cloud save business and not being able to back up my saves.

So many games get unjustified hate. Played a game over this past weekend which I actually was able to enjoy for what it was. Sure, the kickstarter was a clusterfuck and a half and it wasn't what many people may have wanted, but you want a game that gets shit on just a bit too much, look at Mighty No 9.

Not a T-Mobile guy, so not sure how the "T-Mobile Tuesdays" promotions work. Assuming they do promo codes, probs safe to say that next month the trade thread is going to be flooded w/ 30-day Game Pass codes for sale lol.

I've got T-Mobile. Sometimes the Tuesday giveaways are a promo code that could be used by anyone, and other times they are connected to your account. I would think this would be a code anyone could use. Actually got a Redbox rental from them yesterday and tried Prey. Pretty cool so far, feels like System Shock meets Dishonored, but the enemies are really fucking hard

I get reception everywhere near me, and I had it when I went down to the NC/TN border recently. I had Verizon for like 8 years and don't really notice any difference other than my bill
