$800 and you could be gaming in this bad boy, fraggin' newbs Grandpa-style.

I got a new chair about 2 weeks ago from Office Depot. No racing stripes, but it's a great looking chair and super comfortable. I think this was the one: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/944591/Serta-Smart-Layers-Jennings-Super-Task/ Got it on sale. Hard to imagine what those gaming chairs offer for $200 more that I'm not getting from this chair. One thing you're not getting if you buy a gaming chair: Laid.
already have 2 kids, been with the same woman for 20 years. That has taught me the lesson that sex is not worth the consequences.

That chair is very similar to what I have right now. I'll have to shoot over there after picking the kid up from lacrosse and have a sit in it to see if I like it.

I always wonder who actually uses those weird nouveau single layer taut mesh chairs that are super expensive for no reason that look like they can only be paired with glass furniture.

Yeah, but PU leather is especially crap. It's just leather particle board glued to a sheet of polyurethane. Stuff starts disintegrating in no time. If I wasn't springing for real leather, I'd rather get a high quality cloth chair than waste hundreds of dollars on a PU leather chair. Especially when they're marketing it to people with "large frames" who are going to put more stress on the material.
Is this a nice way to refer to your mom?

So, it isn't a 4/10?

What about the ending? Without going into spoiler-turf - does it suck more or less than ME3's ending?
I think it's significantly worse than ME3's post-patch ending. There is no real final boss.. just several waves of normal enemies in a cramped area. The whole ending sequence seemed rushed and poorly executed. The ending does very little excpet set up future dlc and sequels

That said, I enjoyed the bulk of the game enough to re-buy on origin once dlc is out. I'd also put it in the 7-8/10 range

OMG, haven't they (BioWare companies) learned from earlier ME's?

While ME1's combat wasn't spectacular, that final boss fight was awesome.

ME2: that final mission was incredible, but that final boss fight was "meh." A tiny blemish on an otherwise amazing game.

ME3: again, final mission was great - but the problem was there really wasn't a final boss fight. With so much set-up that there could be one, they kind of cut-scene the end stuff too short + abruptly.

With you mentioning ME:A doing wave of enemies at the end in a cramped area thing - didn't anyone learn from RAGE on how NOT to end a final battle? It just feels...lacking of something.

I still haven't finished MEA.  There's just too much of it.

Multiplayer has improved significantly since last week's patch though.

Oh, so it's actually Rage 2.

Edit: Dammit, beaten by the toaster.

Missed chair talk... go find used office warehouse deals.  Got a $1200 Steelcase Leap for $300 in great condition.  They last decades and are more comfortable than any of retail consumer office store chairs.

You have a lot of expectation from an EA-owned company. I am surprised that EA hasn't killed Bioware off by now, like Westwood

The newest Humble Bundle is actually pretty impressive. The fact they're including all the DLC for both Goat Simulator and Kentucky Route Zero is cool as well. That doesn't seem to be standard fare for them.

Goat simulator getting all the dlc involved is mildly surprising but it'd be lame af if they didn't include all the episodes in an episodic game
True, I didn't realize the season pass is all that exists for the game. Was it the season past the last time it was in a Humble Bundle?

I don't remember what it was called, but I got it from the Monthly and the season pass is what I have. Plus, like you said, it's the only way the game is sold.

Yup, that's the only other time it was bundled from the look of it. Ah well, I was mostly interested in Ziggurat, Goat Sim, and Owlboy, so I'm pleased with the bundle.

if you haven't been buying humble monthlys it's a good bundle, but taking out kentucky road zero and steamworld heist hurts it a bit. i'll bite on the dollar tier for ziggurat but whether i get anythign more than that will depend on the reveals

Yeah, and I'd imagine most people who wanted Goat Simulator already have it by now. The mid tier should be a lot cheaper, but Owlboy looks so good that too many people (myself included) are too tempted not to cave on getting it for $7ish. I'm a sucker for gorgeous pixel art platformers that aren't just relying on the "omg retro" lazy aesthetic. It really does look good.

Yeah, I really want Owlboy, but I'm assuming it'll be bundled again sooner or later (I'm surprised it was bundled this quickly, I thought it'd be a monthly headliner or something...and it might be given what they did w/The Witness a month ago); I don't have a problem spending 7 bucks on it but the middle tier has KRZ (which was in a monthly), Beholder (not interested) and then Goat Simulator, which I do want but I don't think I've heard a single person say they've played for longer than a day or so. I can't see myself putting any considerable time into it. I can cesspool the games I'm not interested in but I want at least one game in the reveals to be one I want otherwise I don't think plunking down an extra 12 bucks is worth it for Goat Simulator and Owlboy.

Yeah I haven't played the DLCs, but the base game for Goat Sim doesn't have much replay value. More of a joke game that's ok to play maybe once or twice. I suppose if you play through all of the DLCs you might get a bit more value out of it, but it hurts the value of the overall bundle to be putting a game like that in the BTA, along with a monthly repeat (KRZ).

I'm probably on an island by myself here, but I'm super amped for the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal tomorrow. Also if the rumors are true of a PC-PS4 cross-save feature I'll be overjoyed. I have my doubts but that would be a big deal on my end so as to not alienate friends on both platforms. Here's hoping though.

I have 13 hours in Goat Simulator, which was doing all the achievements when it was first released. I haven't gone back to play all the stuff they've added since and I've been buying one DLC a year so now I have all the DLC, but again, haven't played it.

Personally, I liked it more than a joke game if you actively try to do achievements and stuff. I don't think it's an awful mid-tier game, especially given all the DLCs are included, I just think the rest of the bundle is weak and the pricing structure distorts it. It's basically Owlboy for $13 with some extras and really that translates to a really bad monthly for $13.

Yeah I'm not an achievement hunter so that's not my thing. I can see how some people would like that though, I have a few friends that hunt achievements. I'm guessing you played it for playfire rewards?

Yeah, worth it if you don't have anything in it (like me) or for people who don't wanna wait for Owlboy to get cheap. I think it works out to about 70% for Owlboy, so it's good enough for me.

Same, I'm torn on what platform to get it on though. I want it on PC for obvious reasons, but that definitely is going to depend on how well optimized is (my PC still handles most games without much difficulty, but it's 5 years old and I never really know at this point). Also, when it comes to competitive FPS multiplayer, the online crowd is both 1. Far larger than the PC crowd, and 2. A lot crappier than the PC crowd.

Considering I really don't pour a ridiculous amount of time into these kinda games, I never reach the no-life pro status that floods the online player base in competitive shooters. It's nice to play now and then and not be completely outmatched when I feel like playing a few rounds now and then.

I'd buy it for Owlboy. But I buy the monthlies now, and you know Owlboy will be included in one of these upcoming monthlies.
Regular Humble bundle games aren't normally rebundled in monthlies. Only exception I can think of is The Witness, but they compensated people for that. Highly doubt it'll be in a monthly anytime soon.

I'm actually in the same boat with my current gaming PC being 4 1/2 years old (with an upgraded video card). I've been able to run some of the more recent games at an acceptable steady 60 fps with high settings @ 1080p. So I'm content at the moment, but will probably look to upgrade in the late Fall if the budget allows for it. So I can't say for sure which way I'm leaning right now, but if cross-play is legit then I'll more than likely be double dipping. Especially if it releases on Steam.

I know Destiny probably isn't for everyone, which is completely fine to have opinions, but for me it offers a ton of variety in gameplay choices (and I love loot shooters). Single player, co-op, raids, strikes, PvP (casual or competitive modes), etc... are all great. I think overall Destiny handles competitive vs casual PvP pretty well. I agree with you as I'm not a pro player either, but I've still had a lot of fun playing both modes and testing my shooter skills. Plus like you said it's a game where you can play for a half-hour or several hours if one has time constraints to still earn some progress and reward.

Yeah, I haven't upgraded this thing at all. The card was $1000 of the build at the time of purchase (gotta love mobile prices), so I suppose it's aged pretty well and still handles just about anything I throw at it, but it can't max out anything like it used to.

I think Destiny is great that way too, but I don't think it handles casual vs competitive well at all. I didn't play the game for awhile and decided to jump back into it and was completely outmatched online. I'm nothing special at those kind of games, but I think I hold my own pretty well most of the time. The problem was that while Destiny does level things out to a decent level between old and new players regardless of gear and level, gear and level DO still matter quite a bit. Someone just starting will be completely outclassed when they pick up PvP on Destiny, there's no way around that, and that's a bit of a problem (albeit a problem that doesn't have any good solutions, since the game is an MMO in the end).

That's pretty much why I'll probably wind up getting a console version, so the players will be shittier and I'll be sure to play early on so everyone doesn't surpass me in terms of level and gear.

Yeah I hear you. I was more referencing the casual vs competitive in regards to the pick up and play casual Crucible (gear and level is unweighted / even playing field / variety of game type modes) vs Iron Banner (gear and level is weighted / limited week long event / single game mode) vs competitive team based Trials of Osiris (gear and level is weighted / matchmaking is disabled / elimination style / fire team of 3 required).

While yes there is a learning curve for new players in the Crucible at least there's more of an even playing field than the two other PvP modes. It's the most casual but there can still be discrepancies per match with matchmaking being open.

Chrono.gg has two new mystery games marked as 'Coming Soon'. One for 3500 coins and the other at 3800 coins. Both would mark the 2nd and 3rd highest coin cost of the games they've offered so far. Here's hoping at least one is good and worth the price.
