Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

I haven't played it yet (just came out yesterday) but I am pretty sure Chroma Squad has the grid-battle system too.
Hadn't seen or heard about this. Just looked into it and aside from the graphics style, which is something I can get passed, it looks like what I'm looking for.

I also grabbed the Military Madness game as well. Might grab Band of Bugs if it ever goes on sale

Stalingrad (2013) is free to rent in the Movie section on X1

Chroma Squad's regular price on most platforms is $14.99, but it just debuted on Google Play for Android devices at $4.99. I posted this in the Android deals thread earlier today. Don't know if that helps or not.

Ummmm.... These are 360 games. How are you missing out on the best of what X1 has to offer? I own 100+ digital games for the X1. I own 150+ BC games already that don't get played because there are 100+ X1 games in front of them. Thats a pretty stupid statement.

Anyone else not able to get the Forzathon to open on FH3? I haven't played in about a week. Clubs and Forzathon are grayed out for me this morning.
This exact same thing is happening to me. Any suggestions? I've tried everything including a full restart.

It's also $4.99 on iOS if anyone wanted it there.

Massive multi-quote incoming!

Injustice 2 and Gears 4 are on the menu all weekend. Once I 100% Injustice 2 I'll be hopping back into The Division and I'm finally gonna boot up Destiny Collection for the first time.
Injustice 2 is going to be quite an undertaking for 1000G. Leveling every character up to 20 is going to take forever. Not complaining as there is a ton to do in the game and I'm really enjoying it so far. Great fighting game for single player fans...like the polar opposite of the latest Street Fighter.

Tom Hardy as VENOM

*discuss*
I love Tom Hardy. Huge fan. YUGE fan. But um...are there only like 5 actors in Hollywood? Tons of actors/actresses have now played multiple roles in separate superhero franchises. Hardy has now been Bane and Venom, Reynolds played Green Lantern and two iterations of Deadpool, Evans was Torch and Cap, Halle Berry was Storm and Catwoman (lol)...

Besides, it really doesn't matter who plays Venom. Anyone can do it since you should NEVER see the actor's face when in Venom mode. It's all about the CGI and script. Well, okay, anyone but Topher Grace can play him.

It's going to be venom but without a Spider-Man origin. No Spider-Man no venom as far as I'm concerned. I hope Tom Hardy doesn't bring the bane voice. That was almost as bad as the Batman voice.

Could you imagine Betty White with the venom tongue! That would be great.
I liked the Bane voice. And regarding Betty White, I don't know how you got into my head and accessed my private sexual fantasies, but if you could stop revealing them for all of CAG to see, that'd be great.

*story about being awesome at Gears*
Ah, you're one of those people that kills people like me effortlessly in Gears. Well, you would if we were ever matched up together. I think your rank would safely keep that from happening. More accurately, you're one of those people who effortlessly kills people who effortlessly kills other people who effortlessly kill me.

I don't want anyone to treat me like I just got into video games last week, but getting my ass handed to me over and over when my real life at work is pretty much like that all day isn't any fun. I play video games to relax.
I feel ya man, but that's online gaming for you. I don't like sucking right away but also don't like the idea of a game where I can invest tons of time and still get destroyed by someone who is just starting. The key is for devs to match up players of similar skill levels. And you need to find a game that you enjoy enough that learning to get better isn't a chore. For me, that game has been Overwatch.

Glad I picked up Injustic 2 pre-owned today. It just reminds me how bad I suck at fighting games and I can return it. The learning curve is crazy
Wow, surprised to see you say that. Were you playing online a lot? Maybe that's the issue, then. I basically play single player because I know I can't really beat anyone online. There's tons of story stuff and the multiverse stuff is pretty cool. On top of that, you can beat a five-fight multiverse mission to get individual endings for each of the characters. There's tons of content honestly.

I noticed at work and checked Amazon and Target. Bulletstorm has already officially dropped to $40 permanently. It's not reflected as a sale on anything.

LOL, RIP Gearbox. Two in a row.
I'm not sure you can blame Gearbox for that one or read too much into it. We all knew that game was set up to fail at that price point. Shit, you could get all three Bioshock games for $10 more when that collection launched.

Ridley Scott stated recently that he's planning to make at least two more movies set after Covenant but before Alien; provided that Covenant doesn't bomb at the box office.
*and that he doesn't croak first

I grabbed that Commanders game because Jose said it was like advance Wars. Really need a new turn based strategy game to play.
I remember liking the game a lot back on 360, I actually got it right when it came out if I recall correctly. There were some harder missions and eventually I moved on. I'm a huge fan of tactical/strategy RPGs, too. Wasteland 2 also has turn-based battles where you move on a grid, as does Divinity: Original Sin. Torment: Tides of Numenera is also apparently that style, although I haven't played it.

If they ever go BC, Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgement and Skulls of the Shogun are really fun strategy RPGs. Another one is Panzer General, which is a really deep cut that nobody ever talks about. Really interesting military game that blends turn-based strategy and collectible card decks that you add to by progressing in the game.

Affleck - Daredevil, Batman

Keaton - Batman, Vulture

Simmons - Jameson, Gordon

I think you just jinxed me in Gears. Got spanked 7-0 in Escalation, was the 2nd lowest scoring person in the match.

I have been debating about the Blue Dragon DLC. Is it worth it? Did you get both the shuffle dungeon and the item pack? Or just the dungeon?
The item pack is absolutely worth buying immediately as you start playing, as it includes an item detector which helps find incredibly easy to miss items and it has a piece of an equipment set that is amazing for end-game. The dungeon is high level end-game stuff so you can put off buying it 'till you've sunk enough time into the game where you're sure you would enjoy more content. The hard mode DLC is free, so don't forget to grab that just cause.

My major time sink, which has been that way for a while, is attempting to complete the Pokedex language entries in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. I recently topped the 2/3 mark, with a little under half the Dex (around 330) having all 6 languages unlocked. Coming across an Italian or Korean one I need on the GTS brings the same rush of adrenaline as popping an achievement, even if marking it in my spreadsheet doesn't make the sound. Though now that I think about it, I wonder if OpenOffice can do that when I mark a cell ...

I got around 83% of the language entries in Platinum before I burned out and they shut down online services for the DS games. Sun and Moon added Simplified and Traditional Chinese, though it looks like the full Pokedex is only available in the Bank, so I've already got a big head start to completing the languages there.
As a fellow Pokermans fan, I can respect that dedication. Didn't know you were a 3DS owner. Do you have Sun/Moon yet?

Oh look, the real best news about a Spider-man movie today.

I'm probably the only one who prefers the 90s cartoon theme to the classic Spidey theme.

Any way to get Tour De France on my US box? Not the US one, the EU only.
Make a British account and try using PayPal? That's what I'm going to do, most likely.

Don't forget to grab "Of Orcs and Men" as well.

I did a bunch of stuff and it finally appeared. I think joining an online adventure might have tripped it when I quit to solo. Also tracked the challenge for stumps. I need to do the three playground games still. Did in didn't seem to register. Will try later tonight or tomorrow.

Another PSA because why not.

Keep in mind that several of the BC titles on sale are on disc compilations (which are found relatively cheap pre-owned at GameStop)

Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged ($5 at GameStop) has:

Bejeweled 2

Geometry Wars 1

Hardwood Backgammon

Texas Hold 'em

Outpost Kaloki X [NOT BC]

Wik and the Fable of Souls [NOT BC]

Xbox Live Arcade Compilation ($5 for the double pack with SEGA Superstars Tennis at GameStop) has:

Boom Boom Rocket

Feeding Frenzy

Luxor 2

Pac-Man Championship Edition (Not on sale, but still BC)

Uno [NOT BC]

Xbox 360 Triple Pack ($10 at GameStop, you're probably better off just buying 'em separately digitally) has:

Limbo

'Splosion Man

Trials HD

Qubed ($5 at GameStop) has:

Every Extend Extra Extreme

Lumines Live! (and 7 of the DLCs, including 2 DLCs no longer available for purchase, the only DLC missing from the disc is the Booster Pack)

Rez HD [NOT BC]

I'd recommend grabbing Qubed, Xbox Arcade Unplugged and the Arcade Compilation/SEGA Superstars Tennis, in that order.

Bobby, not going to quote and try and edit on mobile. Do you know if the arcade discs work the same as on the 360, where you start the disc and download from there or can you go to "manage game" and download the games individually from there?

I saw covenant last night. I haven't seen Prometheus in a while but I think I like covenant more. There were one or two things I questioned, mostly typical movie tropes that were the easy way out.

Last night I had a Wildlands DLC achievement pop while watching Netflix. Had heard it happening to other people while in game but thought it was weird since I hadn't even accessed the game since the DLC update was released.

Wow, I didn't know Michael Giacchino was doing the Spider-man soundtrack.

Ironically, I'm playing Medal of Honor (still fun after all these years) which he also worked on.

played the first few levels of the titanfall 2 campaign, made going back to black ops 3 campaign tough as fighting the robots in bo3 is way less fun. Hard seems a little on the easy side for tf2 haven't died yet

So this may be known or old news. I own Ori and the Blind Forest.  Just happened to look at the Definitive Edition and it said it was free for me for two more days.  If anyone else has the vanilla version check to see if it is free also.

TF2 gets a little tougher later on, but not too rough. The hardest thing in the game is the training achievement in x amount of time and even that isn't the worst.

Never knew those discs worked with BC. Might graves Qubed just for LUMINES Live since it has all that DLC. That's a better deal than the $2.49 base game because the DLC is pretty expensive.

Gaaw, I got motion sickness after repeated tries in that mode because lo' and behold the game's install progress wasn't going anywheres, it was fubared.

Thanks for posting this. I absolutely love Ori, but wasn't going to pay just to have to play the entire game again to access the new areas. I really wish they could've made it to where the definitive edition just added to the original map.

the boss fights have started to give me some challenge, campaign has been great so far and I definitely recommend starting on Hard

Now a member of watched Alien club. Too predictable, but still enjoyed the ride. Can't wait to watch at home when it comes out. Theater was a fancy dining one that was too distracting.

I'm going at noon tomorrow to see Alien Covenant on a massive screen in a nice leather recliner. It's worth the 12 bucks since my overly tall body doesn't fit well into standard movie theater seats.

Off topic, glad someone mentioned Lumines was part of the BC. Snatched that up, I love those games.

For anyone that uses bing to get rewards points, right now you can earn an easy 500 points for setting your default search engine on your iOS/Android devices.

It's on my list to get, can you go into any detail? Can you compare it to R-Type?
Despite appearances, I was shocked to discover that it was a twin stick shooter and not a traditional horizontal shmup. It has really great graphics though. It's almost like the developer got caught up in the frenzy of twin stick shooters and decided to make something that it thought would sell well during that time. So, it's not like R-Type except that it moves from side to side.

But this sale shows that twin stick shooters really were a dime a dozen on the 360: Aqua, Assault Heroes 2, Gatling Gears, the two Geometry Wars games, Mutant Storm Empire, and Ugly Americans all more or less fit into that category. Most of the aforementioned games seem to be fun though.

I noticed that about the game, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I watched this video and it sold me on the game:

From what I have seen this game is not any easy 200. I think it is probably harder then Heavy Weapon and that was a 6/10.

Yeah, I don't think that Omega Five is bad nor do I think it's boring. When people on NeoGaf or Reddit discuss good XBLA games, Omega Five is one of those games that almost always gets mentioned right away. I say that you should buy it if you have the funds.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1377114 Halo MCC is receiving feedback?

4k patch for Scorpio and finally some new updates?

Way to re-open some wounds. I don't know if I can take this if true.

But if it's free Halo 3 anniversary updates and coming to PC I'm all for it.
As I've been saying for a long time, they need to do something about MCC because it really ruins Halo's reputation.

Fix the whole game + release a DLC Halo 3 Anniversary for pretty cheap (campaign only, I think they'd sell a lot for 20 or 30). It's their flagship game, they can't let the whole series broken.

It's not even THAT broken right now, I played it yesterday, but it lacks features (you really want me to go back and search a new match after one completes? why not just let me keep searching with the same lobby like every other game?). I'd also cut a lot of gamemodes, too many playlist + small userbase = not enough players in certain playlists (like the Halo CE one!)

I forget who, but someone pages back mentioned that if you buy the 360 games on the 360 console itself, you won't be charged tax. That is incorrect. Reading that statement, I tried it myself last night and was taxed on all my purchases. Maybe if you have store credit you won't be, but otherwise you definitely will.

Another note, saw mention of Game Nights coming back. Yes please. Last thing I think I remember seeing played was Gears or Rainbow Six (which I never got into) and it seems like the group kind of split from there.

I noticed that about the game, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I watched this video and it sold me on the game:

Video snip
Checking the video out, it kind of gives me a Deathsmiles vibe. Not saying it's anywhere on that level as I have yet to play Omega Five, but Deathsmiles had the whole enemies come from behind as well.

For the sale, finally getting around to picking stuff up and my damages so far.

Earthworm Jim - 2.49
Foul Play - 2.49
Omega Five -2.49
Qix++ - 2.49
Rayman 3 HD - 3.29
Scrap Meral - 3.74
Skullgirls - 2.49
Ticket To Ride - 2.49
Tower Bloxx Deluxe - 2.49

Others I'm still undecided on:

Arkanoid Live - 2.49 (classic, but not sure how good this version is)
Aqua - 1.24 (I know it's a twin stick, but is this one any good?)
Boom Boom Rocket - 3.29 (have on disc, would only be for digital convenience)
Bomberman Battlefest - 2.49 (would only consider if game nights does 360 games)
Braid - 2.49 (Remember not caring for it before, but that was before getting back into 2d platformers)
Centipede & Millipede - .99 (probably only considering because of the price)
Dead Space Ignition - 2.49
Doom - 2.49 (classic, might still have on original xbox)
Doom 2 - 2.49 (classic, might still have on original xbox)
Dragon's Lair - 2.49 (Never played, but seems like it'd be fun to experience at least once)
Every Extend Extra Extreme 2.49 (have on disc, would only be for digital convenience)
Garou Mark of the Wolves - 2.49
Lode Runner - 2.49
Lumines Live - 2.49 (have on disc, would only be for digital convenience)
Neogeo Battle Coliseum - 2.49
Shadows of the Damned - 4.99 (would prefer a disc)
Small Arms - 1.24 (would only consider if game nights does 360 games)
Starnia - 5.99 (was an easier sale at the old price, don't know about know)

^ Only game on your undecided list I am able to recommend is Braid. I think it's a must play. Beautiful game. Figuring out how to pass a level using the various time manipulation mechanics was extremely rewarding. I'll admit I needed a guide for 2 puzzles though.

For $2.49, it's an absolute steal.
