While still on the mod subject. Bring the lotr characters, swords, and armor was awesome. My guy looks cool with bormirs armour and cape. 

One mod you guys should use is Sofia companion. She makes the game much more enjoyable. She's always making sex jokes to the npcs. 

 
Just played 3 of the Dead Rising mini golf courses with Blink. Each one is only 4 holes and a max of 7 strokes per hole, so each course goes pretty quick. Definitely kinda wonky at times, but overall it's very fun, but I could see how it would be less enjoyable playing solo

Does anyone else hate games where they ask you to create a character? I've restarted Stardew Valley a few times because of my OCD since my character had to be just right. But I like the zen nature of the game so far.

I got excited last night and picked up Breach & Clear, Heart & Slash, Rogue Legacy, Stories of Bethelm, Saturday Morning RPG, and Guns, Gore, & Cannoli.

Probably won't be able to give any first impressions, as I'm too busy getting back into Dark Souls 1. I've beaten 2 & 3 multiple times, but 1 still manages to keep me too scared to get much done. Last night I finally completed Darkroot Garden for the 1st time ever, and I was shocked at how small that zone was. I saw the invisible dudes and said "Nope, no way, fuck this, I'm out." Turns out there's 4-5 near the entrance and that's it. I did the same thing with Sif, who's a giant wolf boss with a telephone pole sized greatsword clenched in its jaw. He whooped me once way back when I first played Dark Souls and I never tried him again until last night. Spoiler alert, he's a pussy. Sigh, now if I could just get more than 10 ft into New Londo Ruins without pissing myself...

Speaking of, one of the things that's helping me finally get through Dark Souls is the Dumbsh*ts Guide on youtube. He does a good job showing how to complete an area without having to "git gud," and I like the mix of humor and dread.

One of my favorite parts about darkroot garden is backstabbing the baby mushroom people. The animation as they fall and twitch on the ground just never gets old. Probably the only time in dark souls history where you get to feel like a bully.

Well, you're speculating because there's nothing else we can do. I get that some things remain secret for a reason, but the lack of transparency with the BC program is extremely annoying.

I have no doubt that more BC games are coming. I just think that for some reason, they space them out a certain way - either to extend the life of the program even with fewer available games left to bring in, to allow publishers to pick strategically advantageous timing for their BC games, or both.

I probably need to make a similar switch, but just can't bring myself to do it. I know that I don't really want to take up any more space in my house for comics than I already have, but the price point of digital comics (as with ebooks) is off-putting. Plus, I'm not sure I need another excuse to spend more time staring at a screen.

I don't know that they planned it all out ahead of time or anything nefarious like that, but the idea of walling off mods for those who care about achievements and then going, "Hey, you can have these mods now, but they cost money!" is no bueno. There was honestly no need to disable them in the first place, IMO. Not like the sky is going to fall if a few achievement whores use mods to get a quick 1,000 on Skyrim. The rest of us are still going to play 200+ hours of it.

Since it's not included that's a pretty bad deal for the season pass in my opinion. The majority of the content is cosmetics, one dlc item adds three challenges and more cosmetics and the only significant content is winterfest which also adds more cosmetics. Granted it's cheaper than most season passes but I'm hoping that there will be more content added before road to the olympics.

You should ask the person that brought it up. I was just responding to somebody suggesting to make one kind of mod allow achievements when that's probably a lot harder to police than it sounds.

You're talking about a company that didn't give a shit if PC players of their GFW games just used the in-game console to unlock Xbox Live achievements. They've never been pure for all the talk I've seen about that stuff over the years.

Unfortunately Anthony Davis will never ever happen most likely, but the rift between Phil Jackson and Kristaps and Jackson and Melo might make a perfect storm to make a deal happen. I hate Melo, but I'd take him for a year before he opts out if it meant we get Porzingis long term. They also need to get Jimmy Butler out of their head and focus on someone they can get without giving up assets like Gordon Hayward. I also wish they got Okafor or Saric back from Philly instead of next year's pick. If they do end up drafting at 3 it needs to be Tatum or Isaacs, fuck Josh Jackson

On the subject of Bethesda, I think TotalBiscuit made a lot of great points in his video yesterday, the first two-thirds focus on this. I'm more on board for them now but I don't know that I'll ever buy any. Really it would take huge mods to go this route like Skyrim's Forgotten City, but I think that would be overwhelming expensive if anything that involved is made. Maybe if one big combined mod that included all of the quality of life stuff I used went up for cheap, just so I could use it with Achievements.

Basically, nothing already created can be shoehorned into the program, it has to be pitched and created through the program, and you have to have a good portfolio of work already to be accepted into the program. This along side Bethesda seemingly paying modders only during the development makes the whole process seem a lot closer to other DLC that are contracted out to third-party devs. Bethesda hasn't done this in the past, but other companies have, with it being somewhat common for FPS maps.

I think the biggest mistakes were the unclear announcement video with virtually no details, and not having some content ready to show off. Demoing the service with a bunch of joke junk (Horse Power Armor) that no one would ever buy was made even worse by the fact that most of the stuff shown were the same mods used to demo the FREE modding system. Their laziness alone implied that current free mods could switch to paid if the creator wanted. One of the modders I follow already announced she is in the program, and she specifically makes great armor and player housing mods. Something new from her would have been perfect, and the modding community would have recognized her name and that it was new.

The guy is crazy if he thinks he can be the only player in any sport to demand a team promises to draft him to work him out. It seems like a lack of confidence, and from the way it sounds like he's shot at his workouts thus far I'm not surprised he isn't confident. And if you blow your knee out in a 1 on none workout you definitely aren't gonna hold up in the league

I am utterly thrilled with this.

I have the game on PC - but I just didn't like using the Steam Controller to play it in my living room. In the two hours I played, the mood and atmosphere were amazing. And its primarily written by Chris Avellone - the man that gave us the story of Fallout: New Vegas and Knights of the Old Republic 2, among others. (Speaking of which, its time to replay KotOR2 on Steam now that it has widescreen and controller support.)

Day 1. With this and the Yakuza remake on PS4, that week is going to be ridiculous for me.

You all didn't want to listen to me when the schedule became inconsistent in January. Now we have gone nearly a month without a new BC addition. Some of you wont see this because you put me on ignore for telling the truth. WELL guess who was right, ME. BC is dying its slow death. I told you it would become infrequent and slowly over time they would probably go to monthly updates. WELL looks like its been about a month. NEXT TIME LISTEN instead of immediately criticizing the true-sayers because they say something you don't like. I always provided logic behind my reasoning, whereas haters just hated. Suck it!

Maybe try unplugging your Xbox and putting in the bathtub and soaking it in water and then putting it in the dumpster? Report back if that works.

How about yesterday? ;-)

When I say BC is dead or dying, I don't mean that the games literally won't work anymore. Just that the program is on course to no longer or is no longer receiving updates or support. Even after its dead, games that have been added will still work. It's like OG Xbox BC on Xbox 360 is dead. You can still play those titles, but the program to bring more to the Xbox 360 is dead. That is what I mean.

As for your suggestion, I'm not sure why I would intentionally destroy a product I like. I can tell the truth and be objective. I can enjoy playing on Xbox consoles, but also see through their actions and PR speak. I love BC, I wish it would have a long life and that every title could be added. Unfortunately that is not feasible and we are closer to the end than we are to the start.

He might be right. How many big name devs are going to allow AAA, high profile games to go BC at this point? It kinda feels like the well has dried up. I'm not ready to say it's dead, but there's definitely cause for concern at the very least.

I'm still convinced we have a lot of titles left to see. I think some just take longer with licensing/getting them to work, so long pauses don't worry me.

The other factor to consider is let's say they have 20 ppl working on BC at Xbox. Phil wanted to be able to announce that Original Xbox games were coming to BC at E3. Maybe it was all hands on deck pre E3 to get original Xbox games working so all 20 employees were working on that and no one was working on the 360 titles.

I'm sure Microsoft Xbox team has a limited budget they want to spend on the BC stuff so those constrained resources have to be allocated to what's most important at the time.

Now that E3 is done and the Original Xbox news is out, they prob have to split the team so some Original Xbox and 360 games are coming down the pipe.

That's my line of thinking :)
 
Trench is right in a sense though. BC isn't dead per say but the titles are getting smaller, and if we don't get any Thursday that's one month if no BC titles.

Also, as for OG XBox BC they already said it will be hand picked and a small amount. He is spot on - It's probably going to be 20 - 30 titles. I have a feeling MS reverse engineered the emulation for OG XBox so they don't have to pay NVIdia royalties, so that would make getting more then 100 titles probably a pipe dream.

I'd love to be wrong though.

Trench *could* be wrong if all the effort has gone to OG XBox BC, because once the 20 or so titles are released they could focus all of their effort back on the 360 BC since OG XBox BC would be dead.

 
And here I was thinking the "BC is dead (or at least dying and will die.......someday......in the, perhaps near,  future)" thing was dead. Nope.

Hey, the Xbox One S is dying also. It started to die on June 11 of this year the moment the Xbox One X was announced. And once is discontinued in.........I don't know......2025 (maybe sooner, maybe later, not sure.....yet) you'll see I'm right. I'll keep remind you, don't you guys worry.

So I just got an Xbox One S and used the code inside to get 2 weeks of xbox live.  I've downloaded and installed 2 of the GWG no problem, but I cannot get Dragon Age either on the website or on my xbox.  Anyone have any idea whats going?

Trial codes don't work for 360 games, you need atleast a month for that. And they don't stack so if you buy Gold now it'll start from today.

Next time check the dashboard, they often offer you a month for 1$ or even free if you're lucky.

Trials work for :xb1: titles but not :360: titles.

 
All day yesterday the QA team was like, "bug is not fixed, the product is doomed. We're all going to die". Finally, I fixed it; now, QA team is like "that is such a minor bug, there are so many issues with the product. We're all going to die."

If I fix 1 bug everyday, they are not happy. If I fix 10, they say the bugs were all insignificant. If I fix 100, they feel that the product is dying - proof is the fact that there are so many bugs. If I take time to fix, I'm not supporting the product. If I do it too fast, the issue wasn't significant.

fuck YOU, guys. Developers are people, they need to eat, sleep and shit. Go suck a dick!!! BC is dead motherfuckers.

I collect games so I have a ton of them for systems that I don't even play regularly. Unless something bad happens, I don't plan on getting rid of them. When it comes to trading in, I only trade in duplicates of games that I already own. The Xbox One and PS4 are the only systems where I have more digital copies than physical since these days it appears that the only thing that the disc is good for is a license check. And most of my library on those systems consist of indies which either don't have physical copies or are printed in limited quantities and cost more than they should (looking at you, LRG).

If it's not worth trading in the game, I tend to ask my circle of friends if they want the game. That's how I helped a friend of mine get all the content for ESO in a very short amount of time.

You need to be in the tub and leave it on for the best experience. If you have the OG XBox One make sure the power brick is in the water. On the S it doesn't matter.

Yeah for less then $10 I rather give it to someone then let GS take it and put it on the shelf for $20. Woman I work with son has a XBox. I gave him Rare Replay. GS is only giving $1.65 (sans any stacking) and selling it for $14.99 used.
