Agreed, otherwise all you see is the pause button and a slowly filling status bar. I'll go ahead and let the install run its course and maybe when it stops I'll have the option to download from the internet.

I read that back I'm almost 100% sure I'm screwed. :D

The X patch is a WIP from what I understand, and SMS are pretty intense about performance. I'd expect it to get better.

That said, the price trajectory of the first game means this is probably a much better buy early next year. I wasn't at all impressed with the BF discount.

I thought the true X enhancements patch is not released yet. Check out the demo that was just released. That should be a preview of what it will look like.

I also want project cars 2 but it seems like there are other bigger issues with it. Perhaps i will wait for a deluxe edition sale when the game is cooked more.

Speaking of racing sims, the full console version of GRID Autosport just released on iOS and it’s a pretty damn good port.
 
I played Project cars 2 for 20 minutes and it can't get traded into Gamestop fast enough. The controls make it unplayable even after using online guides to tweak driving settings. But it looks great atleast, so it's got that going for it, which is nice.
 
Tried that Shadow of War I got from GS.

Now I played the first Mordor game which has some feeling to Assassin's Creed, but this one feels like they blatantly ripped off Assassin's Creed in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, the game is fine, but the whole movement feels exactly like Assassin's Creed, and your in a city like environment like Assassin's Creed. So I am glad I did not buy Origins.

 
Funny, I actually get Sunday USPS service for packages. Got 2 of my Friday purchases today.

I'm curious how big a letdown tomorrow's sales will be and how soon until BB undercuts their sales like last year.

Yeah, I have both as well. Origins is one of my favorite games this year (aside from a few on that other console). Plus while Shadow of War looks great, I think Origins is the best looking game on the X so far. Simply gorgeous.

But I really do think it is also my favorite AC game. The combat and RPG aspects and huge world elevate it above the others IMO.

Well I just placed an order for four different items, one will be here Tuesday while the rest will be here Wednesday. I'd bet money none are coming from Oregon. My guess is the inventory there isn't very diverse.

I've committed to a bunch of games now. Besides my purchase of Overwatch GOTY last week, I've now purchased Tom Clancy's Wildlands Gold Edition, Tom Clancy's The Division Gold Edition, 7 Days to Die, Battleborn, Deus Ex Mankind Divided Digital Deluxe Edition, Evolve Ultimate Edition, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, Just Cause 3 XL Edition, Mass Effect Andromeda Deluxe Edition, Sunset Overdrive Deluxe Edition, and ReCore. I'm still thinking about Prey, but I feel like by the time I get to playing it I could find it sub 20, or maybe even a collection with DLC. Also thinking about the Complete Season for Life Is Strange, and GoW Ultimate Collection. I'm also thinking of replacing my physical copies of Halo 5 Limited edition and Fallout 4 GOTY with their digital counterparts.

Oh, I got myself and my girlfriend Design Lab controllers, and an Xbox One S for my girlfriend so we can actually play some games together, since split screen is all but dead this gen.

I used credit for everything besides the controllers, since MS has a really stupid 90 day warranty on accessories, so my CC will add a year to that. All the credit I used was either redeemed from Bing rewards, or at the very least 10% off, though most was 20% off. So I spent a lot less than it looks.

Purchased Forza 7 digital and it worked on xbox, but wont install on Windows 10, spent an hour on chat with M$ for them to tell me that they have know about this problem for a long time now and haven't fixed it yet, and instead are giving refunds. Absolutely ridiculous they continue to sell a game that they know will not work.

So did you get it free? That would be a decent deal even if you can only play it on Xbox One.

Haven't heard back yet, they are going to escalate it up to management to try and get a refund. That would be nice for all the time I've wasted trying to get it to work. Would almost be as good as my 5 Transformers movies for free.

 
Yeah I held off on Shadow of Mordor, Ass Creed, and some others cuz they will be closer to $20 or less at some point before May 2018 and that's prob when I'll play them anyways, still trucking through my CPA exams.
 
Playing through the Battlefront 2 story right now. My god, why did they even bother? I'm halfway through the campaign and I feel like I've played a total of 45 minutes of actual gameplay. The sad thing is, the foundation of an amazing campaign is so obviously there. But its like they just shoehorned it in there  and put in the least amount of effort just to pacify the people who wanted BF 1 to have a campaign. If this game had been made last gen, when devs cared about making solid single player games and didn't mind spending money on story writers, voice acting, etc instead of loot crate schemes, this would have been a 10/10 game.

Yeah, it’s not so great and the one level I played that involves someone familiar (won’t spoil it - not that it matters) was downright awful. Most of the game looks good, but that level has character models that look straight out of a 360 launch title.

I had these bad thoughts in my head too to go digital.

I’ve really been enjoying NFS Payback despite the crappy way it handles upgrades through speed cards and crap.

But it has some huge bugs. Mentioned earlier that there was a cop car that was floating like 50 feet in the air. And it may be on purpose to keep the scripted races going but there are times where you can drive straight through cars and trucks like they’re ghosts. Weird stuff.

Love the massive jumps and callback to Burnout with billboards to drive though, etc. Do wish there were events (other than the story ones) where it was more like Burnout with takedowns and stuff.

But it’s generally a fun game.
 
anyone else ever have issues with rakuten on cancelled orders (not by me)

they cancelled my xbox card order. I paid through paypal with a credit card and they charged the card but it also cleared so I owe the money on a cancelled order and the money hasn't gone back to paypal yet either

sent an email to the seller and rakuten so I'll have to wait.  takes a few days to get back to paypal? since apparently they didn't unping my card and it cleared

 
Scored decent on the Dell Thanksgiving night sale (applied and got credit there), was able to get two basic laptops (Win10), a small desktop (Win10), and a One S with two free Forza games, Forza 7 & Horizon 3. Def trading those in for credit though.
Having a bit of buyers remorse though since it's only a 500gb unit and my old original One is a 1tb unit. Once it gets here I'll have to decide if I'm actually keeping it or not.

You could use the money from trading in those two games and get yourself an external hard drive.
 
Not unless gamestop started carrying cheap hard drives. I think they only carry the xbox branded ones. Just checked and I'll only be getting $30 in trade for the two games.

Edit...They do have a 4tb external cheap but it's still out of my price range with Christmas coming up.

Amazon still has Wolfenstein Dual pack Xbox One for 14.99 and Wolfenstein 2 for xbox one for $25! $40 for all and a $10 Mail in Rebate. If I happen to get one of the other rebate forms, I'm just cutting off the bottom and sending that and if I get a denial I'm sending a picture of the above rebate that doesn't mention the purchase price. Though I don't expect that it will be a problem. Very nice deal!

Oh, and solid TIV at GS for the dual pack if games are traded in separately - $12 base for both (vs $10 for the dual pack itself). If you're elite you can trade them in for $14.40 credit without any promos.

I was trying to get the PS4 version of the 2 pack b/c it trades for $2+ more and I already have the digital version for Xbox One. But it's oos everywhere.

I think it's better if you've watched the show but as others have said, it's not necessarily a prerequisite for understanding the story. I will say that although all the Telltale Games provide the illusion of choice and you're mostly on rails, this was the one I've played where it most felt like my choices didn't really matter. I still enjoyed it, but it's perhaps my least favorite.

Nah, not a madman. I got my X on launch day, and before I had that the only console I had this gen was.....a Wii U. My PC has a GTX 580 so I haven't really been gaming on it besides Fallout 4. So that's four years of gaming I've missed out on.

No. In fact, their support was able to help me purchase a $50 xbox card for $40, when they had a sitewide sale that excluded gift cards. I've never had an order cancelled by them. As for Paypal, I can't help either. I get refunds all the time from a merchant (They charge me sales tax but I live in Oregon) and sometimes it takes days, other times it is the same or next day. I couldn't find a pattern.

Well it's not just the smaller hd size, I've been reading up on it since I hit the Buy button and other than a working Blu-ray drive there's not much better about it compared to the old fat system. I don't buy movies on disc, I download Everything and stream from my PC so there's that, and having a working drive really isn't going to change me back into someone that buys games on discs since I just really do prefer to be strictly digital. My tv isn't capable of using the couple of graphics upgrades it offers either. So when I really think about it the $200 price tag just doesn't seem worth it. I kind of grabbed it Just because it was on sale and I was high on the adrenaline rush of having been lucky enough to score the laptops and the desktop. Everything I got sold out within like a minute of going live, so was just click, click, buy as fast as possible. So dunno, everything is scheduled to come on Tuesday, guess I'll decide for sure then.

Have been going through the Halo Wars 2's Awakening the Nightmare exp campaigns the past few days and today, it's really good. Sorta notice every mission achievement is rare though so lol I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say nobody picked it up. That's too bad because it's actually the continuation where you left off with the Halo Wars 2 story - which a few Halo fans have said it's a better story than Halo 5 & I would agree. There's also the Terminus Firefight which is a Flood horde mode.

LOL So I don't like racing games. I tried the free gwg Forza that we got a while ago...meh. Racing games just aren't my thing. It also comes with a Battlefield 1 code, probably going to try trading that away too if I keep the system. Just not my thing.
