Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Max Payne 3 is on sale right now... BC this week?
My first thought when I saw it on sale for 50% off. I thought it would usually go on sale for 75% off, but apparently that ended in 2016.

Speaking of Max Payne, what game would people most want to see a remaster? As in the gameplay was great, but a graphical overhaul and maybe a few gameplay tweaks would make it a real gem in this era? I would say Max Payne 1 and 2.

I would like to see some older combat RPGs get a remake. Something like Witcher 2 would benefit from graphical overhaul and some tweaks to how combat feels.

Or KOTOR or even fallout new Vegas

Rico coming to Xbox March 13 completely forgot about this game

While I would love that, I don't trust that as any kind of BC indication. The Rockstar catalog is one of the 20 titles that goes in and out of the weekly Xbox 360 deals on a regular. Ha I can't believe Alien Rage games aren't BC yet as much as they show up.

Anyone who thinks Scalebound is coming to Switch is insane.
The game barely ran on base Xbone and Platinum is already busy with multiple other projects which include 2 other Switch exclusives.
My money's on Mega Man Legends 3.
I assume this is sarcastic right? I doubt Platinum would ever want to work directly with Capcom, they only exist because Capcom shut down Clover Studios and pissed off Shinji Mikami with the RE4 exclusivity shitshow.

I think it seems feasible that Astral Chain is built from the remnant of Scalebound as Schreier sort of implied, but I don't see much crossover gameplay-wise and it certainly isn't the fantasy tinged game Kamiya wanted to make. If not, I don't think its impossible that MS agreed to sell \the IP to either Platinum or Nintendo and it just hasn't been officially put out there yet.

If not, I don't think its impossible that MS agreed to sell \the IP to either Platinum or Nintendo and it just hasn't been officially put out there yet.
Who said Platinum was working on it? The original rumour (which is definitely believable) was that Nintendo was reviving a very publicly canceled non-Nintendo game, that's all. https://nintendoeverything.com/rumor-nintendo-reviving-dead-and-buried-game-kingdom-hearts-switch-talk/

Then another rumor surfaced and said the title was Scalebound because of MS failing to renew the trademark. But a trademark isn't the only thing stopping Platinum from shopping the game/what they made around, and that's on top of my aforementioned reasoning. Platinum is already working on 4 full games (including Bayo 3 which doesn't even have a release year anymore) and 2 mobile titles, and 2 of those full games are already Switch exclusives. Plus the obvious performance issues which would arise taking a Xbone game that already had performance issues and downgrading it for Switch (see: Yoshi's Crafted World which uses UE4 just like Scalebound and has issues because the engine doesn't play well with Switch).

The only scenario I could ever see happening is them making a new game from scratch and slapping the Scalebound title on it for easy sales (since the cancellation has inflated the hype for it).

Either way, I still think MML3 makes the most sense (originally 3DS exclusive so porting progress to Switch isn't a monolithic task, publicly canceled with a lot of fan outcry, MM11 performed pretty well recently). This is a bit of a stretch but Capcom also mentioned back in December that they were working on a new project that would surprise fans.

“If we keep gradually increasing the size of our staff, I’m thinking that at some point maybe we might be able to handle four AAA titles at once.”

Also, in addition to that, we’re currently working on a title that will make our fans think, "wow, they’re making that?"
There are a number of projects that could be but it's not the furthest leap especially because the quote implies that it's not a AAA project (Legends 3 would obviously be a lower budget thing).

All we know is it's not Dragon's Dogma 2.
Even if it's not MML3, Nintendo could be working with Capcom on this mystery game and it makes more sense than yet another exclusive Platinum collab.

I can't access any of the Gamepass quests in the Rewards app anymore. Was going to see if I could redeem anything, but I'm not seeing very many options now, it looks different. I discovered a Realm Royale pack that was on sale for $5 down from 20, golden cat mount and 1000 crowns. It should count for the quest and that will let me cash out another bit.
I had a similar issue for a couple days after I let my gamepass lapse...and it took a couple days after I renewed for it to go back to having all the quests...

I bought the $5 gold tiger pack last week but it hasn't seemed to scratch the Realm Royale quest to purchase things off the Quest though. :(

Twitch Prime has a free apex pack, you get a legendary skin for Pathfinder and 5 loot packs.

Looks like the weeks of fighting with EA customer support to recover access to the EA account linked to my Xbox Live is finally paying off a bit. My Xbox Live account was automatically linked to an EA account that was created for me during the 360 days, using my old Live e-mail that I no longer have access to.

In other threads about this offer, I see lots of people are just now realizing that they're in the situation I was in - they can't login to their EA account, so they can't link their Twitch and EA accounts.

All this talk about new games and I just decided to give Warframe a shot. Having quite a bit of fun with it so far. If anyone has any tips or wants to team up let me know, still working my way through the starchart. Was also wondering if there was a cag clan for it.

[*]All Stats: All in-game notifications are displayed

[*]"Input Buffer" option added to the Gameplay Options menu

  • This setting controls which method the game uses to send your gameplay inputs to our servers. These methods are:

Legacy - The default option used since Rocket League launched.
  • STS (Sim Time Scaling) - This allows the game server to instruct your client to very subtly speed up or slow down in order to maintain a smooth input stream.
  • CSTS (Continuous Sim Time Scaling) - A more aggressive version of STS that uses a continuous feedback loop to determine game speed.

[*]Both STS and CSTS are newer strategies for latency mitigation that may be more effective for players with connectivity issues, spotty Wi-Fi, etc. than the Legacy method

[*]If you experience connectivity issues during a match, you should try switching from Legacy to STS or CSTS. If you see no improvement, change back to Legacy
This seems to make it easier to get people together if they're not already on your friends list or are on other platforms, so I'd like to make a renewed push to get the CAG club going. Reply or PM me your RocketID#XXXX name and number or add mine (Crash#3342) and I'll get you in when I get the chance.

I don't know, I feel like Legends 3 is pretty unlikely for a while. Maybe down the road, but with the Legacy Collection for X existing I think it's more likely we'll see Mega Man X9 as the next game. While MM has made a comeback, they may be reluctant to branch out into spin-offs with entirely different gameplay than the original series, which wouldn't be an issue for X. If we look beyond Mega Man to Capcom in general I don't think they're exactly jumping to support Nintendo exclusivey. The only recent exclusive coming to mind was Ultra SF2, which didn't bomb but didn't set the world on fire, while they've been seeing massive success on the other platforms with Monster Hunter World, RE2, and likely DMC5. They also had that late Monster Hunter localization for XX after World blew up, but again I don't think it sold super well. Basically what I'm thinking is Capcom isn't as desperate to sign away exclusivity deals as they were a few years ago, while Platinum basically lives by doing constant work for various publishers.

Admittedly, not a whole lot of options are coming to mind as fan favorite cancellations that weren't platform exclusives, that are recent anyways:

  • Bomberman 3DS
  • Mega Man Legends 3
  • Metal Gear Rising 2 (I think this was in early planning stages but died with Kojima. Platinum would be a factor again.)
  • Silent Hills
  • Star Wars 1313 / Darth Maul / Visceral/Motive (Star Wars games not feasible due to EA deal)

Well known of cancelled Nintendo games that didn't technically become a different game:

  • Legend of Zelda Oracle of ... (third game, sort of reworked into the others. Probably impossible)
  • Metroid Dread
  • Mother 3 localization
  • Pikmin 4? (This was announced to be almost done years ago and just fell off the radar with no cancellation.)
F-Zero would probably be on the table if we just never heard of it. We only know of a pitch or two that didn't go anywhere.

Interesting detail from Square Enix's quarterly report.

https://twinfinite.net/2019/02/square-enix-announcements-reorganization/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

"Another intriguing detail is that Square Enix plans to “reorganize and consolidate” its eleven business divisions (which are the publisher’s development units) into four “in order to increase the efficiency of workflows, make more effective use of resources, and consolidate our expertise with the aim of improving profitability.”"

Those 11 business divisions collectively produce all the the Japanese output of the company. I'm not sure what the new split would be, though the majority of them make various kinds of JRPGs. The western studios are not part of the Business Division structure the rest of the company has, so they aren't a factor in that statement. Hopefully this can lead to them getting their head of out their as with the ridiculous dev times Final Fantasy XIII, XV, and VII Remake have been having, though figuring out more directors than just Tetsuya Nomora would probably help FF. Their other franchises and games seem to release on reasonable schedules for the most part.

With all the collections, I think Capcom would be more likely to port or remake MML 1 and 2. They got PSP ports with some QOL upgrades in Japan, so a further enhanced version is possible. Could be used to gauge interest in reviving the spinoff series, although I wouldn't hold my breath.

It doesn't fit with the clues (was quietly shelved after the infamous "Darkstalkers is not dead" thing) but my biggest want from Capcom in terms of a revival is Darkstalkers. I was low-key praying that MS would fund one to compete with PS4 exclusive SFV but then Killer Instinct was basically the Western version. A crossover between the two would sell a gorillion copies though.

Unfortunately Darkstalkers is the thing everybody says they want but nobody buys.

Fond memories of playing Darkstalkers 3 on my modded Saturn with the RAM expansion.

I get the impression that the only real chance DarkStalkers games had was if the Versus games kept doing well AND the characters really blew up somehow. I am curious what happened behind the scenes after the "Not Dead" announcement that lead to its death. Maybe it was just the meh reaction to Street Fighter X Tekken. I'd still love to see a Capcom All-Stars type fighter, basically a Capcom vs Capcom. The DS crew could really shine there.

And yeah, if Legends 3 is happening there is absolutely no way Capcom wouldn't put out a Legacy Collection first. I'm not sure it would be Nintendo funded either. They aren't exactly lacking on other games or hurting for good will at the moment. Them doing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is probably one of the bigger third party partnerships they could make as far as sales go right now.

I bought Resurrection pretty quickly. I don't know why other fans wouldn't. It is a niche series but a shiny new game could revitalize interest. Surely Capcom could use another active fighting series now that MvC is dead.

Was Tekken x Street Fighter ever officially binned?

I believe Maximilian Dood (if you haven't heard of him, check out his streams on Twitch or YouTube videos - he's a huge Capcom fan) recently said he's working on a video to Hidetaki Itsuno/Capcom to beg them to make a Capcom All-Stars fighter.

It was brought up a few months ago by the director of Tekken 7 and sounded like it's still alive somehow. I'll believe it when I see it.

I don't know how much impact Itsuno would have. He's pretty much the DMC and Dragon's Dogma guy now. He did work on several fighters but that stopped over 15 years ago, and his only input on the Vs series was one of the Vs SNK games.

Now the former head of Monster Hunter, Ryozo Tsujimoto, is supposed to be in charge of the fighting games as of a few months ago. Hard to say what direction he'll take them into. I think he'll have more power than Ono did, at least for a while.

This was the most recent news about Tekken X Street Fighter, from about 2 months ago:

"Harada gave some hope regarding Tekken X Street Fighter by again stressing that the game hasn’t canceled but it is in “pending” stage and the development is roughly 30% complete on it."

https://gearnuke.com/tekken-x-street-fighter-pending-tekken-7-nintendo-switch/

It's kinda like getting a month of free Taco Bell. After awhile, you realize there are better things you should be eating, but that first week sure is fun.
Crackdown is genuinely fun though. I just wonder how much more awesome it would've been if development started recently and released with the next console. Crackdown 4 should be more in line with what we all expected.

To add to the Crackdown 3 talk, I'm enjoying it for what it's worth. Once it drops to $30 or less I'll buy it for sure. $60 is too high an asking price for it in its current state. Hopefully more content will be added as time goes on.

Meh, I don't put any stock in stuff like this. They've already confirmed a big day one patch and so for any reviews to be taken seriously before retail release is absurd. I'm not justifying staggered releases but it's simply a reality in the world we live in. What if the patch actually addresses most of the complaints people have right now?
The game is available in full if you buy the EA Premium Access or whatever it's called on PC. It was a week before launch. If you can pay for access to the full game, I think a review is fair.

As for the patch, the notes are already out. The only major complaint being directly addressed is the grindfest quest toward the end of the game, and maybe some of the stability stuff. I think a lot of people are overly optimistic about how good these day one patches generally are. A lot of the complaints are game design choices, like the lack of unique weapons, intense amount of loading screens, and low amount of overall content.

Smite just released the free version on Switch today, and I just found out cross progression is now a thing on Smite and Paladins. Xbox and Switch purchases are now accessable on both platforms.

I went ahead and bought Stick It To the Man this morning. Supposedly, it's a fun platformer. I figured that I can't go wrong for $1.59.
I want to chime in and endorse this decision. If you're looking for a short quirky experience, Stick it to the Man is a good choice. It's an easy platformer with an interesting novelty of reading other people's minds to solve simple puzzles. I thought it was pretty funny. It's so cheap, you should give it a shot if you're at all interested.
