After not finding any new deals/clearance stuff for a while, I turned to offer up. There's some great stuff on there if you're like me and don't mind open box or preowned.

Good. I told someone on SD that this weekend sales will suck and the better ones are next weekend. I want PR and the free tree, but this gives me another week to sell some drugs and get money for the NinjaGo sets. :whistle2:

LEGO might have somewhat fixed the new (pointless) VIP system. You can now use your point in store, you don't need to redeem them online first and use within 30 days.

Now if they didn't fuck it up in the first place this wouldn't have been an issue.

There is good news about the new LEGO VIP program , which was launched in the summer and has caused a lot of criticism especially at AFOL. A major criticism was that accumulated VIP points could not be redeemed since the program change spontaneously on site in the LEGO Brand Stores at the box office when paying against a credit. Customers have to redeem their points for a voucher in their customer account since the summer before the store visit on the LEGO website . This must then be presented at the store visit to the cashier when paying. The criticism of this cumbersome procedure was therefore justified.

Redeem VIP points now for a spontaneous store visit
The LEGO Brand Stores were also far from satisfied with the new regulations and have put a lot of pressure on the responsible authorities in the company to simplify this complicated procedure for VIP customers. With success, as we have heard today. Thus, it should be possible to redeem the existing VIP points directly in the store for a voucher (5, 20, 50, 100 euros). This voucher can of course be used directly for shopping on site. This change will be implemented at the upcoming LEGO VIP weekend (23rd and 24th November 2019) in the cash registers of the stores.

Note: Each VIP card or its user must have logged in at least once on the new VIP website: rewards.lego.com .

In this sense, many thanks to the numerous store staff, who have worked here for the interests of LEGO VIP customers!

I mean NinjaGo City, the $300 set and NinjaGo Docks and Persian Restaurant. I agree with screw City. I bought the truck with the canoe on top because I like it. But every vehicle is the same build, that would get boring. But City Space is fun. If you ever get them for free I'll take. :)

I agree on the NinjaGo City. I bought that for my kids a few years ago and it's an incredible set. I like the Docks a lot also, but sadly, my kids have seemed to become too "old" for Legos. Even my youngest has moved on to Transformers for the time being.

 
Out of all the new pics across all of the news lines, only thing that is must have for me is the city ice cream truck. The mustafar set I’ll pick up when it hits the inevitable 20% sale price
 
Gamestop Black Friday ad says 20% off all Legos...could be good news for those looking to get the newer sets that aren't being discounted at Walmart yet like Overwatch Roadhog.

As I said, in addition to the LEGO sets with 30 percent discount, there are also a whole set of sets with 10 and 20 percent discount. However, I think that these offers should be less interesting, if you look at the discounts in the free trade.

According to our information, there is also the LEGO Star Wars Betrayal at Cloud City (75222) set with 30 percent discount - but only in the LEGO online store .

Someone the other day said LEGO sales are down because of video games so then LEGO made NinjaGo take place in a video game. Sales are down from a company high of billions in 2016. I guess no one liked video games in 2016. :lol:

I wonder if LEGO realize that they have the younger audience and that's why so many 2020 sets are pretty much 4+ sets. They need the younger age before children go on to Transformers and TMNT or whatever is in style today.

Why the ice cream truck? I love ice cream, most of my family worked at the Friendly's Ice Cream plant, but damn that's a boring set. Not even an ice cream cone on top, it's a popsicle. Maybe I'm spoiled because I was hoping for something like TLM ice cream truck set but less tall.

I got a second Welcome to Apocalypseburg in one order and a UCS Y-Wing and Dinosaur Fossils in another order to get 2x of each of the promos (christmas tree and buildable brick).

Might place a third order for the Stranger Things set, not sure yet.

 
Damn. Wish me luck- I just bought a "99.9% complete" UCS millennium falcon off offerup for $240. It'll be here Tuesday. I'm hoping I can brinklink any oddball pieces I need. Also need to figure out how to display it.

I resisted...but then Target dropped it to $128 and basically tax free with my Redcard so I caved.

It will be a consolation gift for when the Falcon sells out in 5 seconds and I don't get one.

 
PIcked up a few custom figs at a con yesterday.  Man, the quality just keeps improving.   Grabbed Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales Spidey & Bob Ross Deadpool.  

Bob Ross Deadpool might be going in the Parisan Restaurant Art Studio.  lol

 
^I have dozens of knockoffs including a rainbow of colors of Lantern (like Green Lantern) Batman characters. The quality of the printing is normally better than that of actual LEGO.

Does anyone here have the Death Star Escape? It's one of those little display play sets. It's only now $19.19 and I'm thinking of getting it to have a skintone Luke and a Leia.

The list looks like all the sets I figured would be on sale. However I can't picture the Disney Train being on sale this year. More so it being on sale and you get double points on it.

That would make more sense as the Passenger Train was on sale last weekend in Europe. I hope the dates are right. PR being in December would mean I wouldn't have to pay for it until next month's credit card bill. :lol:

 
If the Disney train was on sale I’d jump at it but it’s way too soon for that to be on sale, so yeah more than likely it’s the passenger train

Well it's the LEGO website, so no. But they will be kind of close to midnight... possible....ish.

Last year I remember the D. Office was in stock and correct price, so I got it, but the B. Bank wasn't the correct discount. I went to bed, LEGO fixed the issue and the Bank was gone by the time I woke up.

 
Starting December 1st (aka Cyber Week) Target will have up 50% off over 100 LEGO sets according to SlickDeals.

That interview is a PR disaster. For a chief marketing officer, you would think she would be a bit better at spin and a little more prepared for tougher questions. This is quite clearly a play to control the secondary market and her answers come off as not credible at all.

We are on the same page, I’m on my way to maxing out donations to Bernie. My point was that she bombed that interview. PR’s job is to make capitalist wolves look like sheep and she was not up to the task. She must have been expecting softball questions and her marketing BS answers did not land at all. My takeaway is that we should expect the exact opposite of what she said will happen.

I once watched the spokes person of the Women's Christian Cult (or whatever the hell it was) give an interview on something like priests raping nuns. It was awful. Made worse by the fact that the Christian WOMENS' whatever spokes person was a man! When the corporation has so much money PR doesn't matter anymore.

They are obviously going to get rid of what we like about it, just not yet, not when everyone is watching. Wait two years when everyone's guard is down.
