Chat guy said it should be rectified within 2 business days. I will be pursuing this as far as I need to. I laid out $120 for 2 cards, I damn well will get what I paid for even if I have to get a lawyer involved

Thanks for the suggestion I was able to pick up three cards via Target as well a day so after you posted this and while the initial chat person said nothing could be done and that I needed to talk to Target. I asked for a manger who then had me email pictures of the cards and the receipt showing they were activated and then they sent me new codes that worked.

Stacking had been reportedly blocked. Does that mean if I have an existing 3-month subscription plan to either PSNow or PSPlus, I can't add a prepaid card to stack another 12 months to it? Is both affected? Or only one of 'em?

 
Correct, you can’t stack either codes atm, you can only input new codes after your current subscriptions expire. However after the launch of their new service it’ll go toward the new tiered subscriptions at a conversion ratio determined by which tier you select.

Don't want to hijack this thread but on this topic, so I bought a month PS+ to cover me until the cut over in June (I have Now thru 2025) and when I enter the 1 month Plus it tells me I can't redee (on web) and already used (on console). So do I not need to contact Sony but just wait for Plus to lapse? Nervous about waiting that long to find out I am SOL.

You have to wait for your plus to expire before you can redeem it (or wait for the new service to go live)

You can’t redeem codes at the moment for a ps+ or now if you are currently subscribed to them. I interpret what I read in that thread is that you can still redeem one ps now code if you do not have it active on your account.

So if you have a lot of years of ps+ stacked your account already, your best bet is to find an active 1 month ps now code and use it towards the end of May. That will set you up to have your remaining ps+ converted to the highest tier when it changes.
