Starfield by Bethesda and Redfall by Arkane.

Starfield and Redfall both have been delayed by Bethesda to 2023:

afraid Starfield could be the "next Cyberpunk 2077."
Even with a delay, I still have a feeling this will be the case

The Bethesda open world jank was kind of endearing back in the day, but there are so many good games to play nowadays that idk if as many people are willing to deal with it anymore

Bethesda RPGs are so overrated.  Especially as time marches on, after the modernity of game development post Skyrim (circa 2011), as Kyle said.

It’s almost like Bethesda has never been a good developer and mostly managed to stay relevant by making a style of game that nobody else was really doing with any kind of skill until about ten years ago.

I just remembered that Skyrim combat suck but for some reason I couldn't stop playing the game when it first came out. I also probably own about 5 or more different copies of the game.

I still enjoy games like Skyrim. It's an amazing sandbox RPG, particularly when you consider mods. The lore is great. Now if they can just bring the combat up to date with other games and throw in a few meatier side quests.

What's another game that's just like Skyrim that lets you create just about any type of character and do whatever you like?

And if they actually throw in more real decision-making/branching quests with actual role-playing; and hired some skilled writers that can actually write dialogue, characters, stories, etc - yeah, then they might actually be on the level of Old BioWare (BG1 to ME3) and Obsidian.

Most certainly can't touch old Black Isle though, in terms of writing, prose, and actual dialogue - i.e. PS:T. Maybe ZA/UM, the guys behind Disco Elysium, today are closest to that PS:T level of writing, prose, and dialogue?

"Stop talking about games, you games journalist!"
He tries hard to report on politics under the guise of the unicorn that is "game journalism". All this is is thinly-veiled socialist bullshit. If developers don't like " crunch", then go work in another industry. It's no one's God given right to make more or work differently than what supply and demand dictate, and there is no shortage of people who would love to take their places.

Yeah, I feel like character development is an area Bethesda could do better too. Having just played Witcher 3 for the first time, I really appreciate the memorable characters they developed, and I do like the way many of the choices you had to make were not clear-cut.

There are some decent deals in Humble's spring sale after the choice discount and Rakuten's 15% cash back. The 15% cashback on Rakuten is only for this week, but I don't think it's ever been this high before.

I'm in the minority that felt the 1st game was better. I feel in the 2nd that the challenge is a bit higher, but the gameplay is a bit weaker. I forget what exactly, but I think the combat felt less Batman Arkham like. The story is still OK. It's a bit weirder to get higher levels of some cards. Overall I liked it, but I think one level I just couldn't beat and I gave up after a bit. Should go back and try to beat it. About a 7/10.

I was thinking about picking up Hand of Fate 2 on sale. Anyone play it? Opinions?
Great game and fairly unique. Not familiar with anything else that combines Arkham-style combat vignettes with deck building and board game elements. Tons of items, perks, etc. Also an endless mode for when you are done with the main game and challenges. Probably one of my favorite indie games of all time. Eleventy/10.

But if you don't like Arkham-style combat then you won't like the game.

Is the DLC worth it Mooby?
On sale, yes. All three add new companions with two adding a challenge mission. The cheaper one doesn't add a mission but just the standard set of cards used to unlock/upgrade the companion (companion quest). Also, I believe all of them add a few new items.

wow...  Is there anything to do about removing feedback from childish ignorant idiots on here?

I got left negative feedback by Blade Trinity for a non existent transaction.

'Has a shitty PC build because he can't afford anything better.'

glad they're jealous  :booty:

My SteamDeck came in yesterday after FedEx sat on it over the weekend "in transit". It is really interesting how they made it so lightweight but wide/big. I can't quite describe it but I can easily hold it laying in bed. It has unique haptics where you just touch the track pad and move the device to fine tune aiming. The mouse TouchPad travel is finely tuned as well. My only gripe is you can't download games in sleep mode so the screen is on when downloading. I intend to use it for games not on other platforms so I will see how well the compatibility is with the old dos classics.
