I've had many systems upon launch.  I can say that, without a doubt, the best console launches / lineups during my history were:

1. Sega Dreamcast - incredible graphics and new shiny titles, NFL 2K was the best football game in history

2. Super Nintendo - Mario World was revolutionary and had tons of content.  Also forced me to play Final Fantasy IV bc of the dearth of new carts.  Which changed everything.

3. Xbox bc Halo over LAN

I really missed out on Sega Saturn, was a kid with no money then.  Gosh I would I go back and collect those games.  As well as the PS1 early era longboxes.  King's Field 1 was unreal for its time, also started it all for From.

Why the fuck is there a shortage of white Dualsense controllers lol? Can’t find one at any of the major retailers other than Sony
Are you looking to pick up a white one soon? I got an extra new white or black DualSense from the holiday that I can sell direct to you. Below current retail price too.

Not a bad list, but nothing that jumps out at me. That's probably a good thing since I'm heaving a great time with Deathloop at the moment. The description of Sayonara Wild Hearts is interesting.
Sayonara Wild Hearts is a lot of fun and can be finished in like 2 hours, so it’s a good fit for this kind of a subscription service. It’s not really much of a game though, more of a playable music album that is kind of like an endless runner spliced with a rhythm game. Think Rez but super easy. The soundtrack is legit great and I still have some of the tracks on a few of my Spotify playlists.

I've never been into Harry Potter, but the upcoming game actually looks pretty good. I didn't realize it was an open world adventure game. I'll probably pick it up on PS5.

8. Cult of the Lamb
Were you lucky enough to avoid all the game breaking bugs still in it? I have two separate issues right now that are preventing me from progressing and I see reports of one from last August where the devs acknowledge it. The other seems to be more recent but radio silence on fixing it.

Really frustrating because I enjoy the game a lot but it runs like crap and the aforementioned game breaking bugs.

I played through it shortly after launch on ps5 and never had any issues.

Cult of the Lamb was a huge mess. Also played it on PS5 and eventually got frustrated enough that I just gave up on it. Won't be buying anything else from those devs anytime soon.

Odd, I finished Cult of Lamb last month and no issues. I think it had engine issues once you had a full cult, but nothing game-breaking. Was on Xbox so maybe that's why.

No issues here either with Cult of the Lamb either on my Series X. Awesome game!

Streaming some One Piece Odyssey for those that want to see it in action. I'm just past where the demo ends, so no spoilers.

Edit: Here's the archive. It's a nice surprise of a spin on the Dragon Quest-style of JPRG with an interesting battle system, though it's pretty easy for the most part. A good chunk of the game involves revisiting memories of some of the big arcs in the first 300 episodes with some changes, which is perfect for where I'm at in the anime.

Reminder - today (Saturday, 12/14) is the last day for 10% off PlayStation Network, GameStop, and Nintendo eShop gift cards at Dollar General.  In-store only.

I bought another $60 in GameStop cards this morning for $54 that I plan to use to buy PSN, Nintendo, and Xbox cards so that I can get the Power Up Rewards points from the purchase.

Glad I got a physical copy of kakarot. Easy upgrade for me. The highlight for me is the 60fps. Already platinum’d it and I don’t buy dlc so won’t really be playing it. Heard it’s a bit complicated upgrading and transferring data for those who own digital

Does anyone know, if you have a NVME drive in one PS5, and then swap it to another PS5, do you have to reformat it like you had to with the PS4 or will it just keep all your saved data on it and let it be accessible provided you use the same PSN ID?

Good question but I feel like most likely it will try to reformat it. Also save data is only stored on the internal memory so only your games will be on the NVME.

So is there any reason to play Anthem at this point, knowing that the servers will go down eventually (aka any day now)? I heard that the actual gameplay was decent, just everything else was a mess. I'm curious, but am I curious enough to drop $3 on it...?

Jesus Christ Bioware what happened to you?

I bought it last month and have gotten well more than $3 of play out of it. It's enjoyable enough to know that you can get through a lot of the story and activities before anything happens on the server side (which I haven't heard is shutting down anytime too soon.)

Some of the upgrade fees, or worse, lack of upgrade paths, is disappointing. But that being said, I’m still incredibly stoked about that launch lineup. A couple of new announcements including Tetris Effect, Thumper, Rez Infinite, and Creed Rise to Glory are all welcome additions. Creed especially since I didn’t get to play it as much as I wanted due to tracking issues

I'm not great at this game, but I bet it would be AWESOME in VR.

In the past I’ve recommended Thumper, but always with the disclaimer that I’ve only played it in VR and couldn’t imagine after playing it in VR that I’d want to go back to it as a flat screen game?
