Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Well this is disappointing. There are several games at a store near me that I'd love to buy with this promo. Unfortunately, the website says a grand total of 6 video games are available at that specific store.

From my understanding, the site only shows games that have a quantity more than one in stock.

So it's kinda useless if most of the games you'd want are the super popular AAA stuff.

It looks like a deal that's "just to technically have a deal" but no actual savings. I wonder if they took a big hit from having to shift all that stock at either 50% off or moving it to used. Everything I got was under CIB pricing

is the '4 for $40 under $20' and '4 for $20 under $10' available in store as well or just online for in store pick up?

if the latter its as good as not being an active deal, since in store pickup functionality is broken AF on the site

so i waited til today to call about my order, got through in like 2 minutes and they are shipping replacements for both games. assuming they actually ship them and i get them, this was probably the best customer service from anywhere i have ever had. less than 5 minutes total.

In store is fine for the 4 for $40. I got two PS3 games and two Game Boy Advance games. I hope it becomes more of a trend to see older games in store.
Were those games originally shown as "Not Available" or "Verify Address" online, but the GSA was able to place the WIS order anyways?

I went and I got 4 PS4 games:

  • God of War
  • Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
  • F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow
  • Dynasty Warriors

And the $1.99 copy of Scarlet Nexus to do a case swap on another game with a gross case. Then I'll sell that off or give it away.

None appeared on the website as available. I only knew these games were there because I was at the store a few days. No WIS needed.

They were normally priced at $20 each but got them at the sale price today. It was complete copies of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection/The Orange Box for PS3 and then cartridges of Activision Anthology/Super Mario Advance 2 for Game Boy Advance.

Bought a new copy of Coffee Talk Single Shot Edition for PS5 online. Comes in and of course not sealed. I would've been fine with that until I opened the box and found a generic black case with the disc in a sleeve. Returning this shit immediately. New my ass Gamestop

Games I recently got that went up in price:

  • Undernauts (PS4)
  • 13 Sentinels (Switch)
  • Little Witch Nobeta (PS4)
  • LoH: Trails to Azure (PS4)
  • LoH: Trails from Zero (PS4)
  • Scarlet Nexus(PS4)

It seems its all the games they shifted for new to used. Some of these were big jumps, too.

Always worth it to grab what you can, when you can for GameStop deals that are too good to be true.

Anyone know what the hogwarts legacy collectors edition for PS4 should be ringing up as in store? The Xbox version is $100, PC looks full price, and PS4 version not listed.

Great, thanks. Some employees lied to me to keep it for themselves if that is true. Guess I’ll go back tomorrow and see. I see one up high on the shelf, and say I might be interested. One employee says oh yeah, I’ve had my eye on that too for a while, waiting for a sale. I say I think it actually is on sale, could I check the price. The other employee at the computer chuckles a little and looks at the employee that said they wanted it like “wow, he’s right what should I say?” They don’t give me a straight answer, start talking about how it’s not available at any stores nearby, and then how if it’s pre-owned it’s probably missing some stuff. I’m fucking looking at a new condition one right here. I keep saying I’d like to get it if it’s on sale, and then they finally say it’s not. So I just dropped it, but knew that was kinda fishy. I should have trusted my gut, not been a push over and just made them get it down to check. It’s gone now I’m sure, magically, after sitting there for a year prior.

I was able to do a return/repurchase with the 4/40 promo. I purchased three games last week before I knew about the promo, and successfully got it to work. With the promo, I essentially got a free game and a $10 refund back on my card. Receipt attached.

If I redeem my GameStop points online with a certificate, will it work with this game? The $5 monthly won't apply so I'm curious if GS online credit will. I am guessing no and google is telling me mixed things. I think I remembered anything digital will not work with certificates online. This should probably be in the sticky in this thread.

How long is the 4 doe $40 promo going on? And what day do new sales generally go into effect (I'm guessing Monday)?

Was going to get Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, since it was $19.99 on Sunday. But then went up to $22.99 on Monday. So it wasn't eligible for the 4 for $40 promo.

Hoping some other games drop below $20, as right now it is extremely slim pickings nearby.

Sony has discounted the ps5 slim disc console bundle with Spiderman 2 to $450. I just picked it up at gamestop for $425. You get a $25 discount if you spend more than $250 in store. Great deal.
Check out this product I found on GameStop!

I've asked many GSAs today, and they said B4FX0 ends Saturday.

Sony missed their PS5 forecast by quite a bit, so either this is them trying to make up for it or a Pro model is definitely inbound. I've waited this long, I can wait to see if a Pro model comes out this year.

The rumors were PS5 Pro in Q4 2024. Wouldn't be surprised if Sony is delaying announcement so it doesn't hinder sales of current inventory.

Was considering selling my PS5 and just rolling with the PS4 Pro until GTA VI comes out, but there's only about a $200 difference between a PS4 Pro and PS5 these days, not sure its worth going without a PS5 for a year.

The only thing the pro could do is more stuff at 120 Hz. Most people don't even have 'variable refresh rate' TVs capable of operating at 4K 120+ Hz. So I'm not sure what the point of getting a supposed Pro would be.

The pro will likely run games in performance mode without sacrificing resolution. Every PS5 game running in 60fps currently looks like ass so this will be a godsend.

I really hope there's no Pro. Bots and scalpers are already prepping to cut the lines, and if the PS5 launch is any definitive proof, Sony won't give a 🦆 as to whoever gets their next consoles. Even the Portal was challenging to get, and it's flex trash...Expect to wait another year or two for "stock to normalize" on the Pro and PS6. Sony's bad behavior, pandering to politics, laying off employees, while enabling scummy opportunists aren't worth supporting let alone paying at MSRP.

"Play [Has] Limits"---Sony irl.

Question, didn't you already have a PS5?

I stopped by my store to check on any games for the buy 4 for $20/40 but they were really barren. But I did spot that Watch Dogs Legion steelbook and grabbed it. It rang up as $90 but had the manager check and rang it up as the pre-owned price.

Whatever. I don't care what the company does in its free time so long as it has games. Playstation has the games and I like the fact that the PS5 makes my PS4 games run better. Compared to Microsoft, Sony clearly also cares about giving me physical releases. That's a big deal to me. Nintendo of course also supports physical releases. That makes my current and future choices very easy.
