Apparently, 6 more games are leaving PS+ extra/premium in May even though they don't show on the Last Chance to Play tab. The five games are:
  • Horizon Zero Dawn
  • Darksiders Warmastered Edition
  • Darksiders 2
  • Wreckfest
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning
  • MX vs. ATV Legends
They look like they are leaving May 21st.

Costume collecting is my favorite activity, of course, but after finding one of the censored costumes, I'm really questioning how necessary the censorship was. You can play the game as close to naked as possible, and yet a bathing suit needed a random camisole and shorts underneath? It's so silly, especially for a mature rated game, and I just wish this shit would stop. It's not ruining my experience, but I hate it exists because it's dominating the discourse around the game.
It would have been GOTY with full nudity (see BG3).

If I may quickly add to my Stellar Blade impressions: the platforming is horrific, and really makes me waffle between a 7/10 and 8/10 for the game. Like I said before, when you jump toward a rope, there's a 50/50 shot you won't grab it and fall to your death. Approaching poles, ladders, and running walls from just the wrong angle, I'm talking an inch off the middle, results in a fall to your death. Hell, sometimes I jump spot on and I miss. And of course, falling to your death respawns every enemy in the area. I'm fine with dying in combat and resting at camps respawning all enemies, but just a platforming mishap? It's so unintentionally difficult sometimes and it if worked more often than it did, I wouldn't be complaining about having to kill all the enemies again to get back to the beginning of the sequence.

Ok, I'll let it rest now. Anyone on the fence about the game, I think $50-60 is a fair price for it if you like Soulslikes, Nier/Fallout/Dead Space-style worlds, and cute anime girls killing shit.

Microsoft once again dropping the ball
The tab on closed studios is being picked up by all big publishers, not just MS. What's clear is AAA is failing and will sink ships, while indie is having a renaissance. These moves are being made now to reign big spending in and focus on sustainability.

The issue here hasn't been the closures: it's how comfortable the industry got with the boom.

Saying "AAA is failing and the indie scene is having a renaissance" is like saying "consoles are dying and PC is thriving". These phrases contiunue happening back and forth throughout the years.

I just realized it’s been over 20 years since Dino Crisis 3, man I wish they’d revisit that franchise. A new entry, a remaster/remake, or even a compilation collection. Anything would be great.

Pretty tempted to grab a Portal off of Amazon with some credit I have. Any recommendations for cases? I like the idea of this one https://a.co/d/8QLKIBi but the same case comes in a lot of different “brands” that randomly pop up. Anyone have a similar one? Any other suggestions? Probably be used at home more than anything.

I use the skull and co case and I like it, but it's not like a grip like the one you posted

I was hoping to find a case that could hold the Portal and Pulse Explore earbuds, but the earbud charging case is really bulky. I own this case but it definitely cannot hold the earbuds without putting pressure on the Portal. If anyone has found some that will work, let me know

I bought this thing and it does the job well enough.

I use this screen protector if interested.

Both of these were purchased last November so there may be better options out now from more well-known companies.

Animal Well is available on PS+ Extra/Premium now:

Added Animal Well to my Library and queued up for download. It is getting really great reviews. I'm looking forward to playing it.

I finished Terminator Resistance Enhanced Campaign and then the Annihilation Line DLC Campaign last night. It was a really interesting prequel story to the original Terminator film and I really enjoyed my time with the game. Took about 20 hours to complete both campaigns and the Infiltrator level where you get to play as a terminator. I also really enjoyed Robocop Rogue City from this Dev team. Can't wait to see what they have planned next.

I'm hoping they tackle Judge Dredd.

It's been awhile since a new release game I hadn't heard of popped onto my radar the same day it releases and instantly I can't stop thinking about it. Animal Well looks and sounds amazing! It popped up on all my feeds today outta nowhere. First, with a tweet by Jason Schreier. Then I went to go listen to this week's Triple Click podcast where he talks about it. Both Jason and Maddy are addicted to it for the last few weeks. Find out it was helped produced by Dunkey (lol?). and I watched a few Steam and Youtube videos today. I'm completely sold, and right in the middle of an Indie metroidvania and roguelite kick now anyways.

Game looks fantastic. The problem is I just found out physical releases are coming to LRG, yuck! They won't be delivered until October+, and I want to play it right now. So I'm deciding which platform to get it on. Am leaning towards the Switch rn for OLED play and portability. Steam Deck seems to be the choice if you have one. Or PS+ Extra if you have it because it's "free" (who the hell pays for that that!)

The game is available today May 9 digitally for the NSW, PS5, and Steam. This should satiate everyone's Silksong hunger for awhile.

Yeah, good for Dunkey. Releasing his company's first game on PS Game Pass was a smart idea, now people know the publisher has a proven track record/are able to test it out for themselves before they have to commit to purchasing any of their games going forward, and it's a guaranteed payday for Dunkey/the dev.
I'll admit I thought he was biting off more than he could chew starting a publishing company but I suppose it was a good of an investment for his YouTube bucks as anything else.
Hopefully he continues to have a good eye for talented indies.

I would prefer a physcial copy, but to heck with LRG.

I have a steam deck (OLED) and see how it would be great for it, but I will get the PS5 version. Make me take a break from some of the more "epic" games in my back log (Rise of the Ronin & Dragon's Dogma 2).

Also immediately on my radar this morning. Not sure why the bias towards Xbox -_- but will be picking up on Steam, possibly this weekend. I'm not even sure what to fully expect from the game but the chromatic aesthetic alone was enough for me to just want to try it.

I imagine having less time to play makes those gaming hours more enjoyable though. I slogged through AC Valhalla and all the DLC recently which took around 110 hrs for me over about 1.5-2 months. I don't know why but I feel like I need to play all the AC games despite them becoming formulaic and bloated. I keep hoping for my investment to pay off with learning lore from the overarching modern day plot-line but nothing has come close to the intrigue of the Ezio/Desmond games.
I feel the same exact way, even though I keep telling myself to wait on buying the new AC when it releases becuase Ubi will just discount it in 2 weeks....there I am on day 1 (adding to backlog of course).

Sometimes I feel like I am the only one that misses the back and forth between present and past

Animal Well is fantastic. What a clever game with great puzzles and superb controls. A game that makes you feel smart every time you figure out a new puzzle or a new way to traverse through the areas. Definitely one of the favorites of the year with Balatro, Helldivers 2 and Prince of Persia Lost Crown.

Played through Stellar Blade three times (one standard run, two NG+) to get all three endings and the platinum trophy, so clearly I liked it .:ROFLMAO: I stand by my 8/10 rating, but I ended up really loving it and hope it spawns a franchise, since I really want to see what's in store for this ridiculous world. NG+ lets you get so freaking OP by allowing you to break the HP, Beta, and weapon attack limits, and of course, double the outfits! I love the music so much I can't stop listening to it on Youtube, and even my husband added a few of the battle themes to his playlist of songs he listens to while playing Guild Wars 2. This is such a special game that deserves to be played and another amazing hit for a very good year (so far). Now if corporate can just stop getting in creative's way and let games be good...

Have not started, but curious...are the alternate endings worth it? I have a hard time re-visiting a game once I beat it.

I loved Everspace 2 and just saw there was a major free update, I just can't see myself going back...

I'm the same way, like I often just want to move on to a new game when I'm done with one. I went for the alternate endings for the platinum and as an excuse to try NG+ since everyone said it was amazing. I don't do a lot of NG+ runs, either, though it is very fun to make EVE overpowered as hell. But, it is the same game all over again, with just the ending changed based on a choice (though one ending basically requires you to not do any side content and neglect a hidden value that pops up in the top corner of the screen occasionally and fills as you play the game, so my last playthrough only took a few hours to finish).

If you play the game and think to yourself, "Yeah, I'll play again to get all the new outfits and be OP," then might as well go for all the endings since it won't take long. It's fun using everything you've learned to overpower the enemies and try to speedrun it. But, if you finish it and feel you've had your fill, you can just watch the endings on Youtube. They're all great and worth seeing no matter how you go about it.

Starting it tonight on Steam; I'm assuming controller plays well with it? Good excuse to finally dust off mine for the PC.

Is that the metroidvania?

It controls so well. Analog stick or D-pad. There is one item you can get early in the game and if can figure out how to manipulate it and use it to your advantage its like a chef's kiss. So Good.

Yes it is a metroidvania but the main focus is on puzzles and getting through areas of the map using the tools that you find in the game to solve different puzzles. There is really no combat in the game but your character can die and you have health. There are boss encounters but they are also puzzles you have to solve. Personally for me the game is perfect and one of the best of the year. It maybe my favorite by the time I finish it.

Also go in blind and try to figure everything out on your own. As you progress you get more tools that will help you do almost everything you need to accomplish. I even found out things by accident and was blown away that they actually worked like that. So well crafted.
