FAQ:
  • What is this thread? A massive collection of limited edition games & other attributing items, included with links.
  • Why put it all in one thread? More traffic due to collaborating interests.
  • Why is that important? This keeps the thread popular and doesn't risk a failed CE from falling through the cracks unnoticed.
  • What can be discussed here? Anything relevant to what is posted.
  • Why make another CE compilation? Karma.
  • Where are the big pictures? Still here, scroll down. Due to the increased number of CEs, a preface post is needed.
  • When is the Final Fantasy XVI CE? Not announced. Granted, IF it does, you can bet I will devote an entire page to it.
  • What about other CEs that have been announced? Give me a minute. It takes a bit of time to format the title, price, date, & retailer links in correctly.
  • What about the Book/Steelbook/Console/Misc. Picture Posts? I condensed the thread. Not necessary to include pictures for all those items. They will still be included in the Everything List post.

Normally don't post LRG stuff in here, but this is a pretty big release so I figured I'd share it in the CE thread. LRG is doing the CE for Sonic x Shadow Generations (Base game is obviously mass retail). It's a pretty good CE if you are a Sonic fan, drawback is it's $250 + shipping, I have seen a lot of Sonic fans on Twitter excited for this.

That being said it looks like Play-Asia has a seperate CE listed for Asia/Japan that is currently listed as Multi-language for $82. It might be the SuperDeluxe (LRGs Japan branch) release.

So will I be able to return SW Outlaws to Target & keep the Steelbook, or do I have to return both items? I don’t normally buy video games at Target except sale/clearance.

Seems like the game needs some patches to get playable (XBox Era had a progression halting bug at end of game) so I would like to wait until Black Friday to rebuy but I didn’t want to lose my chance at the Steelbook.

I'll try to return mine if I miraculously get it today (most likely tomorrow) and let u know. This is a Ubisoft game which should drop in price quickly.

Didn't get my Star Wars yet, but picked up Visions of Mana with the steelbook from Gamestop today. Had to go back a second time to get the steelbook though as they didn't arrive in the morning with the game shipments. As per usual, not a soul in that store but me.

Best Buy just cancelled the Space Marine 2 steelbook pre-order bonus. What's up with that?

Edit: The gold edition of the game still lists the steelbook as part of it, so maybe the "pre-order bonus" was just redundant and didn't want to make it look like a 2nd steelbook is on the way.

Unicorn Overlord CE for the Switch back in stock

Didn't this happen before, the NS CE getting re-stocked? I wonder if there's just a bunch of NS CEs made but they were stocked randomly/wherever the boxes fit, and Atlus just lost track of them and they keep randomly finding boxes of them...

Also Target just told me my Astro Bot controller is delayed for 2 weeks. I thought they were done with their stock issues but maybe not.

I got the dreaded delay notice saying mine wouldn't even ship until September 10th. Target is the absolute worst.
Unfortunately, Target finally shipped my backordered Outlaws gold, but they did so from a store 100 miles away and of course it showed up today with no steelbook. Needless to say, it's getting returned. Total garbage from Target.

It's been out for a little while here, but I highly recommend the Blasphemous 2 CE for anyone interested. A REALLY good deal for the price and everything that comes with the CE is very good quality. There is stiff foam on the inside of the box that keeps everything secure and all in all it's a damn good deal IMO (The game also happens to be great btw)
VGP says they still have 10+ available for each consoleUntitled.png

It's way bigger than it looks in the photo. Got mine weeks ago and was surprised at the size.

Annapurna Interactive’s entire staff just resigned in a dispute. Crazy times in the game industry. That PS4 collectors set with 8 games, and the Nintendo switch one with 12 games on a cart, are likely to go up in value and get more rare. Especially if this involves delistings, or they really are gone and this is the entirety of their work.

why? is there a reason why they couldn't publish something similar again?

A bunch of people quit their jobs. The company didn't go defunct, get sold, or acquired, or anything. Annapurna still retrains the rights to all of those games.

its pretty much the entire company quit en masse, other than ownership, thats a little unprecedented for such a well regarded publisher. Potential for legal disputes, if there is even the question or hint of that, it could put the brakes on things. The company Annapurna still exists, and says they retain ownership, but it takes actual staff to do anything. Could take years, if ever. PR sugarcoats this kinda stuff all the time. Companies have shut down for much less before, and just taken the tax write off. Just the company not being the same anymore, these current collections could become valuable and sought out. I mean, the concord useless coaster disc is still selling for $100+. A 12 game limited edition collection, many of which have no other physical release, from such a big name in the indie scene, the biggest name even? This is the type of thing that has the potential to be very valuable, after a situation like this. If things play out for the worse.

You could be right, but Annapurna signed a deal with Iam8bit to publish their games. Iam8bit frequently reprints their games to meet demand. I think the Annapurna Collection had more copies printed which Iam8bit has yet to release if I recall correctly.

Just thinking out loud really, not about being “right”. Common sense is the company will at least continue milking and producing its IP, if it can. But as concord coaster sales show, logic doesn’t really matter. The entire company just bailing, we are already outside the norms of logic. Lol. I looked up about the switch collection, since I just caved and bought myself, just barely above retail, so I’m ok with it. 5 months ago I see they sold “leftover stock”, which sold out in minutes. And this does say limited to 2500. I am not an expert on either company, but at least this set, in the short term, probably going up in value a bit, just based on speculation. So might be good to get if you want it, with the slim possibility that it could skyrocket in value if things get even worse or weirder.

FYI. There are 2 versions of the PS4 collection: a digibook and a box set where each game comes in its own PS4 case. Not sure which one is harder to find

That Dragon Age version that comes with the steelbook, notebook, metal poster(no game included) is up for pre-order. It was mentioned in here some weeks back. Walmart exclusive. $40.

Seems to ship 3 weeks earlier than the game comes out for whatever reason. Not sure why the link says robot or human but it's a valid URL.

Thanks! I've been refreshing that page for a few weeks. Odd it still says Dreadwolf, but w/e. Still don't know what their PS5 collector's box for $99 has in it with the base game.

MS Flight Sim 2024 has a steelbook version with another jumbo steelbook like Indiana Jones did.
They are putting codes on physical collectibles in these games now. Starfield had that credit chip with the game code, IJ has the artifact with the code and Flight Sim is doing...a lanyard?

Nope, if you can’t reuse a map, then it doesn’t make it.

I can’t wait for Judgment 3 to somehow have the guys in Hawaii as well.

They added new areas, but not always large areas. It could be just a medium size yakuza base on mars with a space shuttle to take you back to Hawaii.

Is that Bloodborne complete guide on Amazon a reprint of the previous one? And is it worth getting?

The last one skyrocketed in value, not sure if this one is worth getting too.

Wasn't Yakuza games about beating up thugs in you know... Japan?
Each Yakuza game is based in a different part of Japan with a few mainstays like Kamurocho (Kabukicho in real Japan). It's really interesting to compare the real-life areas and the in-game environments, they do a great job representing the locations. Infinite Wealth (#8) is the first entry outside of Japan, but there's still a lot of Japanese influence and culture in Hawaii which is probably a reason why they chose it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_in_Hawaii

Then again, Yakuza is also about zombies, samurai, and Michael Jackson, so don't take it too seriously.

Was this game annouced recently? I don't think I've seen anything about it before but I also haven't been able to keep up with a lot of shit recently.

I haven't even played any of the Like a Dragon or Judgement games yet.......
