Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2024

ymmv but if you use capitol one shopping rewards, check your email. They just sent me a Black Friday offer for 70% cashback for purchases on gamefly. Utterly insane offer, only valid for used products but I'm sure I can find at least $100 of pre-played games to buy.

I got one for 41% on Dell accessories. It's not technically cash back though because you can only use it on gift cards. I had a Walmart credit card but it got switched to a Capital One card and with that it can be used as cash but I'm still trying to figure out how to use the rewards with Capital One credit card and not just the website.

Wahhhh there aren't any good games to buy because I suck at life, and at CAG!

Wildermyth is busted on Switch from what I've heard. I'd recommend getting the PS5 version.

Thanks for the heads up. Shows 35% for me when I search for it. Probably need to opt in to emails/offers somewhere. Also there's a 10% gamefly code out there.

Right now, my plan is to hold out until Thursday night before I go all out on Black Friday shopping (just gauging supply at my local stores to see if it won't be a problem to pick up on Friday and seeing which items I could download if I can't find them at stores).

That said, I did some BF shopping so far at Best Buy, ordering Code: Rain last week (it's to arrive tomorrow) and picking up a new desktop computer (as my current one isn't Windows 11 compatible).

Some PS5 Dualsense controllers are $35 at QVC with code Holiday30. Grabbed the Cobalt color.

Currently they have Black, White, Blue, Purple, Red, Cobalt, and Volcano

As always with QVC the promo code is for "new accounts" only so make sure to remove payment method from any previous account (or use card generator) and create a new account using the Gmail period trick.

Best Buy's eBay page has a 1tb SanDisk extreme micro SD card for $50

My local Walmart has 15+ copies of SH2 and no pick up option. I guess they're holding stock for Friday  May have to just go at 6AM on Friday to see if I can snag it for $30 since it's OOS for me online.

Not to be conspiracy theorist, but does anyone think that retailers goof the stock system so they don't sell as many copies as they actually have to save them from taking too many losses on sales?

I see some games that say "No store within 250 miles has this in stock" and I'm sorry but there's no chance in hell this is true for some of the games I've seen over the years. And also over the years I've noticed that coincidentally after games on sale "sell out" they always happen to pop back in stock the day the sale ends and the price goes back up to the normal price.

Picked up SH2 and Rise of the Ronin today at the Black Friday price. Wario shared a link that worked for in store pickups
Seems to be regional I'm in LA county and all the stores within 100 miles of me say out of stock and there's no way that's true. I can walk into any of those Walmarts and see them in the display case.

It's been discussed on CAG since at least 2005 that retailers have an allotment of stock they are willing to sell at any given price.

It's called loss leaders.

And given that physical games are likely lower production runs outside of evergreen titles, I wouldn't be surprised if stores were sold out.

All the tariff worries have people snapping up everything much quicker.

💯
I almost backed out of my PS5 Pro preorder but then I realized that

A) it’s likely not coming down in price anytime soon
And
B) a PS6 probably isn’t coming in the next 4 years now given how expensive it would likely be with the added tariff expenses.

My BF Haul (so far):
Armored Core 6 - PS4 ($20)
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengence - PS5 ($25)
Balatro - Switch ($20)
Gran Blue Fantasy Relink - PS5 ($30)

Unless something earth shattering comes later in the week, I think I got everything I want. P3 Reloaded has my interest, but I'm gonna hold fast for a probable "Re-Reloaded" edition pending that DLC they're doing.
Rerereloaded edition featuring femc mode or bust!

i knew it was real! but it’s only through staples on uber eats and i don’t have a staples near me :(

Stapes near me has it, but there's also a $10 fee and a min 8% tip- might be diff for other people but I'd imagine most people won't be able to get this deal for under $40. Don't use Uber Eats much so I'm not sure if you can do pick up to offset the delivery fees. Still, I don't think I've seen any store advertise this on sale this BF.

Not a conspiracy at all. I caught target doing it decades ago. 3ds games were advertised as $5 in store. Magically they were sold out quickly and never restocked during the weekly sale. The sunday morning after the reset, at 10am, magically the shelves were full of the same 3ds games at $35 msrp. There was no magic delivery truck coming on a sunday morning. They held back the stock.

Should have asked an employee, they really did hold those in the back for whatever dumb reason and the employees were just fine getting them for you at least the ones in my area. Nabbed shit like SMTIV Apocalypse and Mario 3D Land and whatever else it was at the time

That and when they were clearancing out New 2DSXLs at walmart were the only times for me "it's never in the back" not only wasn't true but the employees were practically delighted to be asked about it and retrieve them

Thanks for this. I was holding out for a bit for one

Same thing happened to me. I just played dumb and told an employee someone agreed to hold it for me in the back and they brought it out. Idk why corporate even agreed to have the sale.

It's neat looking. Though like the astro bot controller, there's no way those white joysticks will last.

I just put some thumbstick covers on mine, found some that were a blue that matched the controller's blue.

I really like the Chroma controllers but already got a plain white, 30th Anni, and Astro Bot controllers in rotation...

I was debating buying Sand Land for $20 and I debated off and on for several days. Then yesterday I was like ok I think I'm going to buy it. Went to amazon added it to my cart. Then I was like eh before I hit buy I'm gonna watch one more gameplay video. I did, it was about 5 minutes long. Then I was like ok I'll buy it. Went back to Amazon to check out and it sold out during those 5 minutes.

What are the odds that in that 5 minute period over a span of multiple days it just happened to sell out. I guess I deserve it for procrastinating for several days. But I think I changed my mind and if it comes back in stock I don't think I'm gonna buy it, because it does look a little repetitive.

Next time, buy with the slowest shipping option ASAP if you have any interest so if you change your mind after watching gameplay, you can just cancel the order.

It’s been $20 for over a month at all walmarts.

I’ll buy ronin one day. $20 or bust. After beating Tsushima years ago, I’m not sure what can top it. When I was in Tokyo several months back, one of the electronic stores had a cool display for it.

Says $36 Amazon prices going up and down

That's every game for me $25 or lower, $30 is the highest I'll go definitely if I didnr have backlog

Still no price match for SH2 at Amazon so looks like I will get up early and go at 6am to my local Walmart to grab it. Good luck to everyone else going out tomorrow hopefully the stores are chill and not crazy. Last year I went at 7am to get something and it was pretty empty.

hopefully it’s $30 at other stores too tomorrow

Try price matching in person at Target. They didn't give me any flack for it at all. They even said out loud, it's showing out of stock before they said sure.

I'm hoping there are some better deals tomorrow but doubt it. Games like ys X, trails through daybreak, darkest dungeon 2 and better deals on visions of mana, Alan wake 2 and others.
