Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Not sure about GameStop but many store closing sales actually bring in fresh junk to sell. Some people are suckers and will buy anything if they think they’re getting a deal.
That’s usually when the store has an outside company run the closeout - actual store employees aren’t the ones in the store at that point. As far as I know the GameStops that are closing just close. No sign in the window that they will be closing. Just box up what’s left and send it to another store.

90% off clearance at Gamestop, why are we not talking about this?
Because most stores didn't do it at all, only had a certain amount of things that either employees bought beforehand or customers wiped clean the day of, or by the time people found out it was just too late.

It was also a lot of garbage tbh. When I bought $45 worth of clearance, it was a giant Cal Kestis statue, 12 shirts, some anime figures I'd use as gifts, and a ton of those Gotcha Pokemon Go bracelets.

For most stores yes; just overstock from the holiday season.

For stores closing, mainly most of their merch.
For stores closing, the only sale they did was the clearance sale. Anything else that isn't clearance is being shipped off to another location in the same district.

About 4 years ago during store closings, I was living in CA for work and ended up hitting a store on the last day. They had laid out 6 boxes full of random stuff. As soon as I walked in, the associate said, everything in the box for $5 but you're not allowed to look through it, you can only see what's in there from the top.

Honestly I probably would have gotten all the boxes but at the time I lived in a 175 sq ft apartment. There was no room for anything. So I ended up getting 2 boxes, one full of 360 games (I didn't have a 360) and one with all kinds of accessories for various systems.

I ended going through all the 360 games and seeing which one had a trade in value of $2+ and trading it in to GameStop. The rest I donated to Goodwill. Made about $150 in trade in credit. Haven't had the same luck since.

Edit: Found a Snapchat I sent to a friend that I saved with the 360 games:

Because nobody needs the Pops & tchotchke that are on clearance.
Tell that to my wife's family....who insist on giving them as Christmas gifts despite my protests.

I asked for two things this year: a Meta gift card and peanut M&Ms.

I got: a Jimmy John's gift card, Texas Roadhouse gift card, fandango gift card, Hershey's kisses, hard candy of some sort, Reese's cups, ill-fitting gloves, a pop culture t-shirt, tiny Marvel ornaments, and two Funko Pops.

I hate Funko Pops and they know it. And they like me! But they want stuff for people to open more than if someone wants the stuff, and these are perfect buying opportunities for that.

Just stopped at a location near me that's closing. Sunday is the last day. A total waste of time. All games were moved to another location. Clearance was 90% off but it was junk. Everything else was full price.
The 90% off clearance is just way for these closing stores to remove inventory they don't have to ship out to other stores (so saving them on shipping fees and employees processing such large inventory) as well as clearing stock that will take up space at those other stores.

The deals are good though if you want a bunch of funkos and shirts, but this isn't the big clearance you would normally see from a store closing. This is just removing junk to save money.

I'm about to purge my backlog. Since there are games I'll never get around to playing. Too bad Gamestop doesn't take sealed games.

Who am I kidding. They'd just rob me anyways. Lol!

All stores are doing between 70-90% clearance sale. Got a nice bobba fett mouse for cheap.

The link says that games on the MWT list get 20% extra... Not sure if that is already calculated or if it gets 20% extra as a promo. I'll probably trade towards a pre order just to be safe but curious if anyone has traded yet today how it looked on the receipt and if the base matched the website.

That promo is just the same one we've seen for months and shouldn't be factored into the base TIVs.

I had to look up what stores are closing and the two nearest to me are closing. A little surprised because they're both in fairly popular areas and pretty remote, but I can guess the reason might be due to the locations being near less than nice areas. Now the closest location is one inside a mall and I absolutely loathe that mall.

Sucks... don't care much for GS but these stores disappearing is sad.

Did the store price the kiosk at $50? Or did you offer to buy it? Sick piece for a collection!
The store priced it at $50! They said they weren't going to give away shelves or cabinets since they got a list of what they could sell and what the prices would be. The Switch kiosk was not on the list so they just pulled a price of $50 out of nowhere and I happily accepted!

Going off what they're worth, $50 was a no brainer!

How heavy is that thing?

How heavy is that thing?
Because of it being entirely made of metal, it felt like 150-200lbs. Thankfully, the Nintendo rep who took the Switch and TV out also took the acrylic box that covers the Switch console, making it easier for me to access the power strip inside so I can plug a TV and my Switch in without needing the original kiosk key!

If Switch 2 gets announced this month, like hypothetically next week, and preorders begin immediately (hopefully for console only not forced bundles with lots of bloat) can you just put $5 monthly towards the preorder for the next few months?

That wouldn't be a bad use of the monthly coupons :D

Consoles usually need a $50 deposit to preorder.

Unicorn overlord has a $27 base if you got it in the B2G1 when it was cheap, it's a nice flip back to gs.
It's on sale for $25 this week. Better do it asap if you want to trade.

You can't use coupons toward preorders except at time of purchase. Any idiot could have realized you could just pay for a $60 game with just $25 subscription if that were the case.
