2012 Fantasy Football "Who should I start?" Thread

I tried to accept that trade but an error came up about the Buffalo Bills not being on the other guys roster. I had to make the trade offer again so now I got to wait to for his response. My first trade this season and it goes wonky.

And yea, B. Wells is garage. I'd already drop him for Mendenhall (hopes he recovered well).
Hmmm.... With YahooSports reporting that it's 100% that Bradshaw will be back for the Philly game. As all of my reasoning was based on Brown being the starter, go with Loyd. Brown is a lowend flex option now until Bradshaw gets hurt again.
Already did that and Brown was always a flex option for me.

My lineup this week in a non-ppr league:
QB D. Brees
WR D. Bowe
WR G. Jennings
RB AP
RB C. Benson
K J. Tucker
DEF Baltimore

I need TE and my flex person.
The follow options are available:
RB
F. Jackson vs NE
A. Brown vs PHIL

WR
L. Robinson vs Cin
DHB vs Den

TE
A. Gates vs KC
J. Cook vs Hou

Waiver includes:
RB
S. Draughn vs SD
P. Thomas vs GB
D. Woodhead vs Buf
L. Ball vs Oak

WR
A. Jeffrey vs DAL
J. Jones vs NO
L. Hankerson vs TB

TE
G. Olsen vs ATL
S. Chandler vs NE
F. Davis vs TB

I'm thinking A. Gates (however, after the last two weeks benching Gates is very tempting) and F. Jackson at the flex (if he plays).

With CJ Spiller most likely out for week 4, I'm trying to decide on my 2nd running back.

Alfred Morris (@Tampa)
Trent Richardson (@Baltimore)

Not really a fan of either matchup since nobody has run well against Tampa all year. Sort of leaning Richardson. Even though it feels he has a lower ceiling, McCoy and law firm's performance is encouraging.

Not sure who to drop out of:

Fred Jackson
Ryan Williams
Kenny Britt
Danny Amendola

10 team league, non-PPR, 8 yards per point rush/receiving. Have to drop one, dropped the Jets defense to be able to claim Jackson/Williams. Will pick up Arizona with whoever I drop. Leaning dropping Jackson or Amendola.

not knowing your other WRs or RBs, I'd drop Amendola. He only has value in a PPR.
Anyone think I should start Ahmad Bradshaw over Cedric Benson this week?
Not me, New Orlean's run D can't stop a nosebleed. If Benson doesn't have 100 yards with at least 1 TD, it's totally Green Bay's own fault.

WR: Steve Smith, Decker, Vincent Jackson
RB: McFadden, Trent Richardson, Alfred Morris, Mikel LeShoure, Ryan Williams

Dropped Amendola

It's a two WR and RB league with two W/R/T slots. Typically put two RB in those spots.
Flacco vs Cleveland or Romo vs Chicago?
Flacco, He's at home and the Browns secondary is sorely missing Haden.

Agreed. Benson finally got into the endzone last week. And considering that Green Bay looked awful as they become more one dimensional as that game went on, Benson might finally breakout and have a good game. Plus, Bradshaw is coming off an injury and will probably split the workload with Brown.
Trade proposed to me: I would be getting Vincent Jackson and I would be giving away Doug Martin. yay or nay?
Really depends on what your situations at the two positions are. I'm always reluctant to give up a starting running back for a receiver. VJax is a great receiver, but he has a crappy QB throwing to him. Martin's production has decreased over the 3 games so far this year, and Schiano has said he wants to try to get Blount more involved in the offense.

Trade proposed to me: I get Nate Washington for Donald Brown

Rest of my RBs and WRs:
RB: Sproles, Chris Johnson (ugh), LeShoure, Tate, Mendenhall, Tashard Choice
WR: Nicks, Steve Johnson, Antonio Brown, Denarius Moore

1/2 point PPR

Go for it?

I'd say no. You are ok with receivers but you (and I) might be down a RB soon due to Jahvid Best coming back after week 6. So you'd only be left with Mendenhall who's status is currently up in the air in terms of health and his involvement in the offense and Choice who is going to be second to Jackson now. You also have CJ but he hasn't produced much either.

My other WR's are: Larry Fitz, Edelmen, Donnie Avery, Antonio Brown.

MY RB's for now are: Ryan Matthews, Leshoure, Martin, Trent Richardson.

I'm thinking I'm going to need another WR since Edelmen's status is in the air and Brown + Avery are on Bye Week. I'm trying to pick up Denarius Moore off of waivers but it does not seem likely.

I like this trade myself. You'd be apt to start Washington at some point and probably never Brown.
Locker can put up numbers and Vick has not been doing well so far.
Good point and Vick is a high risk player that could be injured any week this season.

Appreciate the feedback from everyone. Now which QB should I start? Stafford or RGIII? It now looks like Stafford will start this week but worried if he tweaks his hip and is removed. For our league it's not so much about TD's as it is yardage. 300 yards nets big bonus points and it's point per completion. Right now I have RGIII starting.

It looks like Nicks is doubtful against the Eagles. Anyone think Ramses Barden is worth picking up and starting? He had 9 catches for 138 yards starting for Nicks last week.
Soooo.... Got a trade offer. My Jake Locker for his Mike Vick. Am I missing simething? My other QB is Romo
You're in the same boat as me QB wise. I have Vick & Romo. If someone is trying to get Vick from you they must be trying to buy low anticipating a blowup. I picked up Carson Palmer this week desperate to find a productive QB.

That's a tough call. He did do well but wa the fact that he's talented, played a Piss poor defense, or a combination of both? I guess it depends on who else you have on your bench.

So would I be crazy to start BOTH Bradshaw and Brown and bench Ridley? I need to start 3 of these guys:

CJ (ugh)
A. Brown
A. Bradshaw
S. Ridley

I'm starting CJ even though I know 1/2 of you will say he is the one I should bench. I don't give up on players until at lest the 4th game.

Yes, I think you would be crazy. It's highly unlikely that both Brown and Bradshaw are going to explode for massive points. If Bradshaw puts up 20 points, then most likely Brown will give you 1-2 points or vice versa. There's a high chance S. Ridley will out score one of these two RBs. The real question should be which one will score the most, Bradshaw or Brown? I'd go Brown (even though he's no longer the starter) because I like his running style and he gave me 25 points last week.

I own both these QBs in my one money league and every week Griffin has outscored Stafford. And the last two weeks I started Griffin. I'm making it three in a row this week. It's hard to say how much running the Redskins will do, but Tampa's pass defense hasn't been that good.

Plus, with Stafford's potential injury, I don't necessarily expect him to sit, but I expect a mediocre performance at best.

I'm still on the fence between starting Gates vs KC or Bennett vs Philly. Every website has Gates scoring more points but I don't want to be ratings slave (The League reference) but now Mikel LaShoure is already questionable after only one game. Should I keep Mikel in the lineup or start Mike Williams who I just pick up on waivers? Going to be a crappy weekend that's for sure.

Yes, you are crazy I would go with Riley and probably Brown. I just don't know how many carries Bradshaw is getting. If CJ was not playing Houston I would feel much better about him this week. Overall, I can see why you're fretting this decision. It's not very easy.

I know what you mean man. However, Gates has a history of destroying KC. I just picked up Owen Daniels myself so I'm even considering sitting Gates. I would watch Mikel's status and keep an eye on your options.

I got a question, I just started playing Fantasy football. Should I start Vick over Carson Palmer? Playing Vick is a bit risky and he's playing the G-men this week... and how do I add another def since steelers are in a bye week...

Vick
arian foster
doug martin
roddy white
aj green
jacome tamme
eric decker
david akers

and steelers def starting (bye week)

This is a tough one. It could go either way. Vick is prone to turnovers and the Giants are going to go all out against him. Palmer is facing a meh pass D in Den but he will be without Heyward Bey and possibly Myers. However, Palmer has been consistent. I would probably go with Palmer. But Vick's back is against the wall and it is in PHilly. Tough call!!

You need to probably drop someone if it doesn't allow you to auto add a D. I would say
probably Decker and hope no one snags him off waivers.

Just traded Alfred Morris/Jermichael Finley/Anquan Boldin for Victor Cruz/Marques Colston in a 12-team dynasty league.

So now I have the entire Giants WR corps (Cruz/Nicks/Barden) .. guess it's time to unload them to the league's friendly neighborhood Giants fan for Adrian Peterson. ;)

OK got a few "who should i starts":

1. Which QB?
a). Eli Manning
b). Matt Schaub

2. Defense?
a). NY Jets
b). SF 49ers
c). Pick up Min?

3. Should I pick up a guy like Ramses Barden and play him over one of these 3 receivers (B Marshall, Vincent Jackson or Nate Washington?)

Any suggestions would be appreciated! :)

So many injured players that might play (Forte, Jackson, Spiller). For my W/R position who would you play:
Chris Johnson (hasn't done shit, but would hate to miss a break out game)
or
Dwayne Bowe?
Should I drop Colts WR Donnie Avery for Redskins WR Leonard Hankerson?
I did this exact thing. Hankerson SHOULD at least get a few deep balls thrown his way. Tampa pass D SUCKS (and I'm a diehard Bucs fan).
Who should I start in my flex spot? Doug Martin vs Redskins or Brent Celek vs Giants?
Doug Martin. RB vs. TE in Flex? RB wins.
should i start romo or smith? romo's playin the bears. smith's playing a revis-less jets.
Kind of a tossup. I'd probably go with Romo though. Smith is kind of a safe play, where you'll probably get 10 points easily, whereas Romo you may top 20 pts (30 if he has a spectacular game in prime time) depending on your league setup.

1. Eli
2. 49ers, easily
3. You should be fine the way you are. Kind of a throw-your-hands-up decision there. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Bowe. You may miss a CJ2Lame monster game but the chances of that happening until you bench him? Nil.

CJ2Lame or Ben Tate?

Johnson is easily the most infuriating first round pick I've ever made. I'd be happier if he just went out with a season ending injury so I could just drop him already.

I'd go with Tate. He's more of a sure bet to score than CJ, imo.

I had Johnson last year on one team. Pretty sure he ended up riding the bench. His 1000 yard season was very misleading. He only had 4 games over 100 yards and didn't show up most weeks.
