Sometimes you can catch them slipping on stuff, but it just takes the right (wrong) pricing team to over price something. Its a crapshoot but sometimes worth it to check out anyhow.Rather unfortunate. I was going to head over to Savers when I was in Tucson tomorrow. Maybe there's not much point in doing so.
Wish I could find SMS games at thrift stores... I still play mine regularlya store that usually overprices their games had some sega master games loose for above ebay. looks like they are starting to learn how to price games. they lowered the master system games to $3 each after a few months so i had to clean them out.

When I worked at HPB, I'd usually start my day looking for the empty cases from the DVD clearance rack where people stole the disk and stashed the empties behind the books. You ever look at HPB clearance DVDs? Dregs, just like the people who stole them.I know a big thing even at HPB is people buy a bundle, take out what they want, then return it. It happened a lot at savers with video games. A lot of scumbags out there.
A few years ago I found a pokemon heartgold ds game with box and everything. A kid next to me asked if I'm going to buy it. I was gonna but decided to let the kid have it. To keep it short. I found the game near the furniture section 15 mins later and it was missing the cartridge. Well I saw the kid near his parents and I was shaking my head and smiling at him. Your parents can't afford $6.People steal shit. It happened with a bag of misc toys I was looking at. I set it down and someone else picked it up. When I was leaving the store about 30 minutes later, I convinced myself to buy it for the GI Joe guy in it. When I came back there was a small hole in the bag and the GI Joe guy was gone. (II may have posted this story before.)

It's less that they can't afford it and more that the parents are assholes who won't buy it for their kid. I was at a yard sale a few months ago. A kid was examining a LEGO set. He asked his mom to buy it and she refused. I didn't hear how much the seller was asking. When the kid puts it down and leaves with his mom, I scoop it up and ask "How much?" thinking it will be a high price. The lady says "A dollar." That bitch wouldn't spend a dollar to make her kid happy.A few years ago I found a pokemon heartgold ds game with box and everything. A kid next to me asked if I'm going to buy it. Is this a real story? Who in the world would give up a complete HeartGold to some dumb kid they don't know?A few years ago I found a pokemon heartgold ds game with box and everything. I think it's about not spoiling your kid. You can't buy every little thing he / she wants even if they are only a dollar. my parents were the same way when I was a kid. It was to make sure I didn't get a bunch of stuff I "didn't need".It's less that they can't afford it and more that the parents are assholes who won't buy it for their kid. Yeah it did happen at goodwill. I was going to flip it on Amazon anyway but I just can't turn down a kid man. If it was an adult asking for it, I'm buying it for sure.Is this a real story? Who in the world would give up a complete HeartGold to some dumb kid they don't know?
It looks like a couple of those are brand new. Damn good haul.I don't have a PSVita system yet but I couldn't pass on the Vita games for $6 each. I also picked up God of War PS4 Game as well. All for $6 each.

You could play some of those on a Playstation TV. Just look under the short legs of tables or on stacks of papers... one's sure to turn up eventually.I don't have a PSVita system yet but I couldn't pass on the Vita games for $6 each. I also picked up God of War PS4 Game as well. All for $6 each.

Yeah I was thinking about it. I prefer the handheld though. Probably will get a used one from craigslist by the end of year. Hoping for under $100.You could play some of those on a Playstation TV. Just look under the short legs of tables or on stacks of papers... one's sure to turn up eventually.
Thanks and Good eye. Wipeout, Resistance, and Borderlands 2 are brand new and sealed. Uncharted is new but it is not fully sealed (tears). It looks like a couple of those are brand new. Damn good haul.
Looks like a rare one slipped through the Goodwill greed machines fingertips. Nice score. Finally a target goodwill donation goes my way.
Mario Kart 8 Switch 5.99
Thought for sure it would be marked like 39.99.
Last quote explains this: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-29400.htmli picked up mercs and mystic defender for genesis for $5. i opened and cleaned them up but when i put them in to play they were in Japanese? they look just like a regular genesis cart. did sega ever just swap the american boards with the japanese ones for the hoildays similar to what nintendo did?
thank you i never knew about this. i guess this explains it since i was using a retron 3. it just easier to use it since i been playing imports than to hook up or mod all the consolesLast quote explains this: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-29400.html

Revenge of Shinobi: If you hotswap the cartridge (put in any game into the genesis, start the console, pull the cart out without powering the console off, put Revege of Shinbi in and then reset the console), you can actually come up with the "Super Shinobi" main screen. (I wouldn't recommend doing it as it's not good for both cart and console, but if you must see for yourself, here's an explanation how it's done (http://www.sega-16.com/2005/12/cart-swapping-tricks-cheating-at-your-own-risk/)).
/edit: there was actually an old feature here at Sega-16 (http://www.sega-16.com/2005/05/locked-out-importing-made-easy/) that listed a couple of games where you could access both the Japanese and the English version if you used it on a modded or regionally different console. The list of the games and the effects regarding regional differences were incolmplete, but here's what it says at the end of the article:
If you are planning to mod your system, be warned that some games will experience changes depending on whether the console is set to U.S. or Japanese. Here is a list of some of those games, and their effects:
