I went into EB games and the guy asked me if I'd like to buy a warranty on my game that basically allowed me to return it for any reason (including scratches he said) and exchange it for a new copy of the same title & if it was no longer in stock, I could get credit towards anything else in the store. Is this to good to be true or what? I bought it. I figure after a couple of months bring it back and get something else. Just wondering if anyone has ever done this.
your plan won't work if its in stock.
..well, obviously. Considering it's a plan to replace a game with a new game that's in stock, I think that's the point.
I say why not.. I mean, honestly. My Burnout 3 might be about to bite the dust, and if they had the guarentee back then, I would've probably gotten it. On extremely huge games that you know you'll play a lot (GTA, Burnout, etc), sure, what the hell, why not? I'd rather spend three bucks and get a replacement copy instead of buying it again.
As far as your theory, I would imagine that they would give you used value for it, and what the game is currently at instead of what you bought it at. Example.. some guy buys Ghost Recon 2 at $50. He comes back months later and now it's $19.99. He'd get $19.99.. maybe even $14.99 in credit, not the $49.99 he originally paid.. but I could be completely wrong.
