You guys have to be getting ignorant CSR's. None of those are Disney movies.

My 3D TV comes in Wednesday. I think I am going to pick up HP part 2 once I get it.
Part 2 is not part of the deal I have part 1 aready
Is there anything here that says Part 2 is part of the deal?... imz00 already said this exact thing, as well.

I'm just curious as to why this page in the weekly ad says get 2 for 35 on select Disney movies and then has some Disney movies mixed with Dreamworks and HP 7.1... this layout is ridiculous and I fully intend to make a trip to Best Buy just to get a whole bunch of copies of KFP on the cheap... I mean, add to my Dreamworks Blu-ray 3D collection! ;)

It's not the weekly ad--that looks fine. It's their weekly deals web page that incorrectly lumps the titles from two different deals in the ad together. As much as I'd love to pick up KFP for $17.50, I really hate dealing with the Best Buy CS folks--especially when I know I'm trying to scam some deal that isn't valid, and needs a convoluted method to "prove" it. If there was a second title in the list that I didn't have, I may have thought about trying to do it. Wish they would have have an actual 2 for $35 (or better) for all of their over-priced Dreamworks barebones exclusives. as I still want KFP, HTTYD & MvsA.

Do u think I can pick up
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and
Kung Fu Panda 1 for 35 and then return HP part 1 for HP part 2

"Cave Of Forgotten Dreams" needs to be listed and DON'T tell me it's just a nature documentary.

It's about a cave that was discovered in France, having cave paintings that are 30,000 years old and was discovered back in 1994, being perfectly sealed for like 20,000 years or longer.
Given these circumstances and how easy the environment inside the cave can be fucked up the French government is pretty much letting no one in. Herzog was lucky enough to and I'm sure mentioning the 3D aspect of this helped as well as the fact he's Werner Herzog. ;-)
So watching this in 3D is the closest you'll ever get to going inside the cave. I saw it in theaters and it's great. I only wish there could've been more straight walking in 3D then there was.
As far as the Ayumi disc goes it's fucking Ayumi Hamasaki, J-Pop queen. If that doesn't deserve a mention, shakes head.

Yeah, that's definitely not going to work.

As I had it explained to me by a BB CSR, if you buy items in a package deal and return only part of the package deal the items will get recalculated back to what their price would have been if you had bought them separately. I had purchased 4 of the Disney 3D Blus a few weeks back and wanted to return a copy of Bolt (I bought two because I wanted the deal and I didn't want to ever own a copy of G-Force even if I went and sold it on eBay ASAP) and I believe I was told that I'd actually have to PAY THEM 1 cent to RETURN it... bullsh*t much?

So, if you tried what you suggest and the BB people did their job 'correctly', you'd get $5.01 (35-29.99, not factoring in tax) back from returning HP 7.1... and that's that.

I'm having second thoughts about actually bothering to try this even though the BB deals page has absolutely NO divider of any kind between the Disney movies at the top and the 3D movies at the bottom.

I did the same, but made sure I got a gift receipt when I bought the 4 Disney titles. Returned the extra copy of Bolt with the gift receipt last week and got $19.99 store credit. Gift receipts are really the only way around the package deal--you get store credit in the amount of the price on the receipt (after package deal is distributed across all items) instead of it losing the package deal if you do a straight up return with the original receipt.

Seller joebenotz is selling Alice in wonderland 3D for $12 shipped on eBay. Had +70 when I bought one.

Up was originally in 3D when it was in theatres and it looks like it's going to be coming out by the end of 2012 on Blu-ray 3D... it's coming out on January 9th in the UK (not sure if it's going to be region-locked).

Finding Nemo is going to be re-released in theatres in 3D on September 14, 2012 and will most likely come out on Blu-ray 3D in October or November.

Monsters, Inc. is being re-released in theatres in 3D on January 18th, 2013 to gear up for the sequel/prequel Monsters University.

And The Little Mermaid is going to be re-released in theatres in 3D on September 13th, 2013... those are the only announced 3D re-released titles so far, but apparently some higher-ups at Pixar mentioned that Ratatouille was also being converted into 3D. There hasn't been any more talk of this since about a year ago.

I agree that A Bug's Life and Wall-E would be pretty cool in 3D (especially Wall-E) but The Incredibles is the Pixar movie that should most definitely be turned 3D ASAP!

FINALLY got my copy of Drive Angry from Target. Took almost 3 weeks. And it was the 2D version, not the 3D version. What a waste. I will be returning it to Target. I knew the price was too good to be true. Do they refund shipping too, or is it just the base price?

I've rarely heard a company refund s/h (unless it was their fault on something...which you may have a case). I think Red Card recently has free shipping now.

Bah, another card! Just give me a barcode already and be done with it!

Picked up Fright Night 3D today at BB. They had a total of 2 copies, when the store opened. This is one of the largest BB's in CFL, also. Guess they won't be selling many.

Lots of good info here. Thanks! My wife has been eagerly awaiting the release of Finding Nemo on Blu-ray. She's going to be upset that it's still a year away.

It's official. At some point, I will have bought every Disney and Pixar animated release on DVD, then re-bought on Blu-ray, then re-re-bought on 3D Blu-ray.
Lots of good info here. Thanks! My wife has been eagerly awaiting the release of Finding Nemo on Blu-ray. She's going to be upset that it's still a year away.
No problem, I was just glad I was able to find the information for myself so I'm glad to pass it along.

@msu89dawgs:

It's hard to say, but it sounds like the double dipping that happened with Beauty and the Beast might become a thing of the past. I was surprised that The Lion King 2D and 3D Blu-ray sets came out the same day and it looks like Finding Nemo is going to be the same way... although it's waaay too early to tell.

I'm just lucky in the fact that I've been able to wait for the Blu-ray releases of the Disney/Pixar films, but with only 18 of the 51 official Disney animated movies being released on Blu-ray it's unlikely that they'll all make it to the format. I especially doubt that the "package" films (like Ichabod and Mr. Toad and Fun and Fancy Free, etc) will make it to Blu-ray... but who knows?

I'm also curious as to whether or not any films before the Disney "Renaissance" will be converted into 3D... the newer ones are much easier since they were hand animated into a computer system and can be re-rendered into 3D without TOO much trouble. The fact that The Little Mermaid is the next one up makes me think that older conversions are possible (financially) since Mermaid was the last Disney film to be traditionally animated (except for some shots at the very end) and every one between then and Princess and the Frog used the "CAPS" system.

Amazon has Hoodwinked TOO 3D for $13.99 right now. Even cheaper if you stream a movie and get a $5 coupon towards the purchase.

http://www.amazon.com/Hoodwinked-Ho...I5SO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1323834309&sr=8-3

Here is a list of movies for the $5 coupon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht...d_t=201&pf_rd_p=1337581562&pf_rd_i=B005SAYR3S

Here is the streaming rentals (a few 99 cent ones): http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht...d_t=201&pf_rd_p=1337581562&pf_rd_i=B005SAYR3S

Now, is Hoodwinked Too even worth $10?

I picked up Clash of the Titans (non 3D) as part of the BB 5 for 30 deal and regret it. To each their own I guess.

Clash of the Titans and Hoodwinked Too!? I'm definitely not planning on biting on either of those.

Clash was an alright film, but the 3D is quite atrocious... it has a handful of moments that look good but it definitely deserves the bad rap for being one of the worst 3D conversions (up there with The Last Airbender) and Hoodwinked is also a 3D conversion, so buyer beware. Yes, in case you hadn't heard, a 3D animated kids' movie that was converted from a 2D render in the same way that 2D films are converted... Dreamworks did the same thing with the first 3 Shrek films, but from what I've seen THOSE turned out okay.

In any case, thanks for the deals, but I'm afraid I've become a bit of a 3D snob and mostly only appreciate Disney's 3D discs thus far. Although I just watched Captain America and thought it was definitely one of the better conversions out there!

I think converting a 2D CGI movie to 3D is worlds different then converting a live action film.

Probably closer to a 2D animated movie like Lion's King and Beauty and the Beast and those 2 turned out better then anyone could expect.

You have a very good point, but re-rendering a "second eye" using the original digital files is always the best. I know it wasn't an option for Hoodwinked Too! and the first three Shreks, but I definitely think the Shrek collection would be a must-own if they'd been able to go the Pixar route and do it the 'right' way. Pixar always uses the original animation files for the character animation and merely adds backgrounds and textures to parts that weren't originally visible from the angle of the 2D version... but it's still an incredibly involved process.

As it stands, 2D to 3D conversion is just having someone go in frame-by-frame, cut out the objects that are going to have varying depths and adding more visual information for the new angles of the deeper layers (since they wouldn't have been seen from one of the "eyes") so it's essentially a very elaborate, incredibly time consuming set of photoshop jobs.

Lion King and Beauty and the Beast do look quite good, but they had the benefit of not having to do the 3D conversion completely by hand, since both of those movies were hand animated into a computer system and they could just place the drawings at different depths within the picture. I don't know about the original CG portions of both films (ie stampede in TLK and ballroom dancing in BatB), but knowing Disney they probably had all of the digital information to re-render those parts, too.

yeah ordered Yogi 3d .i think it was shot in 3D .I liked 2D version lets see how 3D goes.I`m more of OOS fan rather then depth .

Not sure if it's been posted but Amazon has a promo for $20 savings when buying 3 select Disney blu-rays, including some 3D versions.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht...d_t=101&pf_rd_p=1339548502&pf_rd_i=2901953011

The "best" deal seems to be the Lion King Diamond Ed., Cars 2 Five Disc 3D, and PotC: OST five disc for a total of $55.XX.

I didn't bother keeping up with the 3D versions when they were released so I am nit sure if they were priced lower on release day.

Most of those are $24 at Costco with the $8 instant coupon.
Amazon's inflated 3D Blu-Ray price kills the deal IMHO.

Apparently there's a mistake on the BB website and you can get Fright Night 3D for $17.99 before the $5 coupon (so $12.99)... but it's extremely YMMV since the listing CLEARLY says DVD but has the picture for the 3D combo pack.

I'm tired of messing with BB's various and sundry errors since most of the CSRs at the stores near me tend to deny pretty much every attempt. Good luck to others, though!

I took the Fright Night 3D disc for a spin and it was quite a good bit of fun... I already liked Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Anton Yelchin and David Tennant and now I like them even more.

Anton Yelchin was a bit toned down in this film and I think the understated nature was perfect for the role. Mintz-Plasse is thankfully able to get a fun layer (however thin) on top of his usual McLovin-type character.

Oh, and David Tennant... you glorious bastard, you! I love the Eleventh Doctor, but this movie really makes me miss the Tenth Doctor.

It's a fun, ridiculous movie so if you tend to like humorous takes on mythical creatures and the like (not Vampires Suck, though... I said "humorous") then you'll probably get a kick out of it!

BTW, the 3D is well done and has a lot of fun pop-out atmospheric effects when the vampires get dusted along with a couple of spurting blood fountains and other things thrown into the viewer's face... check it out!

Just noticed that on the website....I don't feel like trying though, since it clearly does say DVD. I have a feeling this will drop like a rock anyways.
