Man, I've been sitting on $50 that I'm eagerly waiting to spend on the 3DS eshop, but week after week it's just more stuff I couldn't care less about. I didn't own a 3DS last year--can anyone tell me if I can expect any good holidays sales?
I gave up on waiting on sales. I just buy stuff I know I'll keep in my collection digitally. The same stuff seems to be on sale like 75% of the time

Did Nintendo do any type of sale for when it was Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary? Kind of disappointing. They remind me of a client I do videos for that doesn't believe in discounts.

Nintendo doesn't, really never has and only recently started being more aggressive with retail promotions. All you have to do is look at how they price and release VC stuff to understand how they look at it.

Yeah, like everything else they do, they are about 4-6 years behind the sales and promotions others run. They had the humble bundle deal awhile back, and was shocked by the turn out. No one was surprised but them, so that shows you what we're dealing with.

Pretty much this, it's always the same titles going in and out of sale. It's getting frustrating as I have the ones I want of those and very few new titles ever seem to be put on sale. At least I have $55 sitting in my account ready for when they finally decide to discount some new titles.

Speaking of new titles, has anyone played Chronus Arc yet? I'm always in the market for a decent SNES-styled RPG. Just trying to determine if it's decent or not.

It's an iOS/Android port. Can't really speak to the quality of this game, but Kemco tends to crank these out at about a rate of one a month. I'm always leery of games/companies like that. It does seem to be one of their higher-rated games, though.

Edit: I guess there's several different development teams that Kemco publishes for, so I suppose it's not actually one team cranking a game a month out.

Apart from the Atlus merry go round (Etrian Odyssey 4 is worth every damn penny at $15.) and a few indies like Rage of the Gladiators and Legend of the Dark Witch, there is NOTHING, with a capital NOTHING on sale on this damn platform. Pay full price or gtfo. Sales are so rare they don't even come after you buy at full price like a moron. Weeks and months will pass and you'll think "Man why am I not feeling stupid for paying full price the price isn't going down AT ALL!"

At least it HAS games unlike a certain other handheld...

So I just found my GBA SP and I have to say that this thing must have one of the most amazing batteries ever.  I haven't seen this thing in like two years and haven't charged it for longer than that (no idea where the charger even is) and it still has charge.  Too bad I think I got rid of all my GBA games.

They're teasing me, I know they are, and I'm not falling for it.

My DS Lite's the same way, minus the lost part.

Maybe you guys are just lucky. Mine hold a charge forever, but even at full charge, they die rather quickly. I have two DS Lites, two GBA SPs and a Game Boy Micro. The batteries are still pretty easy to replace if need be.

It probably wouldn't last for more than a few minutes but most electronics would have been entirely dead ages ago.

New Smash Bros DLC released today.

Super Mario Maker for Wii U/3DS, Duck Hunt for 3DS (Free), and Costume Bundle #4 (Fox, Captain Falcon, Viridi, Business Suit, Toad, Hunter, and Rathalos from Monster Hunter).
I can't find Duck Hunt anywhere on the eshop. Even search bar just gives me a trailer. Would've totally been in for a free Duck hunt if I could.

Oh yugioh's on sale for $10. Meh, it was alright. A lot of cut content and a few cards are missing even though they let you turn off the limited cards list. At least the AI is pretty good.

The post wasn't about Duck Hunt the game for free. It's two free Duck Hunt DLC characters for Super Smash Bros.

What are the good VC GG games, GLOC and what else?
It's all subjective but a lot of people think Sonic 1 and 2 are decent, Tails Adventure, Sonic Drift 2.

My personal fav is Vampire: Master of Darkness which is a very capable Castlevania clone.

I think GG Shinobi is meant to be ok as well.

Is Devil Servivor Overclocked even good?

Real Heroes Firefighter has been ported everywhere and supposedly it's not bad but I have never actually had a chance to play it. Seemed decent but I only squeezed out one level and I think I either got puzzled or broke scripting at one point unable to figure out how to proceed. But this was on Wii or PC I think.

Gunvolt's PC version is rough around the edges but arguably superior for having the option to reenable those awful intrusive Japtalk voices whatever and, the real prize, a FAR less tryhard translation. I think they were going to patch that into the 3DS version but that's really a waste of effort. The voices were terribly implemented. Voice triggers were FAR more numerous than space to hear them. Like, two right next to each other, so unless you fullstop you won't hear the conversation. Most bosses talk longer than they will live even in abysmal play. Elise's face for her dialogue blocks her lower left hop spot so her face can literally hide her body. It's hilarious.

General consensus is that the original Overclocked has the better story, while Record Breaker has the better gameplay. And, yes, Overclocked is an incredible remake of the original Devil Survivor and a great SRPG, especially at $10.

Overclocked was amazing. Multiple endings and tons of choices. Loved the game play. The 2nd game is now in my Backlog.

So tempted to pick up DSO for that price. I'm working my way through SMTIV now (my first SMT game) and I'm really enjoying it... aside from those Hua Pos that you encounter on the way to Medusa.

I also noticed that pre-owned copies of Soul Hackers are $10 at GameStop.

If you like SRPG then you should definitely get it at this price, other then Fire Emblem Awakening SRPG genre is lacking on the 3DS.

No issues of min-maxing since there are only 4 stats to consider for the MC, and Party Members auto-stat up when they level up. The Extra Turn system like other SMT games is very rewarding, and the Cracking system is a good way of getting stronger as you proceed through the story. If you use the Extra Turn system and play smartly, there is no need to grind for levels other then to crack skills or get Macca to buy Demons.

Sounds like I'll be picking up DS:Overclocked Monday, $10 is too cheap to turn down an SRPG. Now if only EO IV would hit the auto-buy price of $10.

Not eShop, but I thought you might want to know that your GS may be removing ALL 3DS used cases and going clamshell and display case. Just as the DS games did.

If you're into completeness, you may need to hurry. Store I was at had to have it done by tomorrow.

That's gross.

SmileBASIC is hitting the eShop on Thursday for $9.99. I actually want to get this and mess around with it and see what's actually possible.

are the cookings worth 5

same with yu gi oh worth 10 heard they cut ALOT but is it still fun

You will never play them they have no resale value and will just take up memory
Isn't that the majority of the eShop in general?

But seriously, I got Cooking Mama 5, and the cooking minigames are pretty creative. Cooking Mama was pretty big back in the DS days; I can see why. Definitely worth a fiver, not sure about $30, though.

Heard this game has a time limit to do stuff. Probably a dealbreaker for me. No matter the price.
