Amazon "lied". I've got the email to prove it.
So I take it no more e-mails with details of Saturday deals?

The Price Tracker info looks anemic at best.

Well, I guess at least we won't be able to complain about Amazon undercutting their "Friday-Monday" deals during the weekend, like they did last year.

fuck, I hope amazon sends me a copy of ODST that has a flap in the case separating both discs instead of ontop of each other. I don't want them to get scratched...

I think Amazon played this well. They figured they really only needed to match the top deals then beat them. The game tops on my list ,like last year ironically, was L4D2... They figured and figured right that folks would rather buy from them than Gamestop or anywhere else for that matter. Had Gamestop had that game at $35 I can guarantee you the Amazon Lighting deal would have been $35. Also the Borderlands price match was sweet. These are new releases for the most part. And if you get blu-rays I think this year may have been better than last. Most blu's I got were $10 or under and included new releases. Not to mention the DVD deals on the TV seasons. I thnik my biggest disappointment was the Killzone deal no Assians Creed 2, NSMB wii (although the actual launch deal was great!), and more aggressive PC deals. All in all not a bad week IMHO perfect ? No. But if my memory serves me correct the deals really kept going for a couple weeks after BF last year. So there is still time.

This year's blus were awesome! I only bought A.Creed and Afro but I bought 12 blus...one of the 12 being was the James Bond 10 pack.
Here's what I bought on BF last year:

Tomb Raider: Underworld PC $30
FarCry 2 PC: $18
Heavenly Sword $20
Fallout 3 PC $30
Left 4 Dead PC $20
Dead Space PS3 $30

This year? Nothing. Well unless you count the $32 spent on three BDs. Everything above was practically new releases (save for Heavenly Sword which is still overpriced) and blows away any deal they had this year.
Just cause you didn't buy anything this year doesn't mean they didn't have good deals on new releases.
Halo ODST Xbox $30
Batman $30
NBA 2K10 $25
Tiger Woods 2010 Wii $25
Tekken 6 PS3 $32
Killzone 2 $29
Borderlands PC $20
Sims 3 $25
Tekken 6 Bundle $60
Boom Blox Bash Party $15
Dragon Age $35
Brutal Legend $35
Left 4 Dead 2 Xbox $35
Forza 3 $35
All EA Sports titles $35 (i.e. Madden, Fifa, Live, etc)
Dead Space Extraction $20
Magna Carta 2 $32
Scene It Bright Lights $25

Yes you can state that a good chunk of these titles were copies of other retailers but Amazon beat their prices on most of those titles in addition to a few of their own deals. Now the list only includes Video Games... Amazon had amazing deals on other products as well. Some lightning deals went in the matter of seconds.

This sense of entitlement I'm seeing is incredible. Amazon doesn't owe any of us anything. They put up sales to bring in customers and build on the bottom line. If you all want to blame anyone for the deals not being what you had hoped for, blame the people who bought AC 1 and RFOM on the lightning deals 10 times faster than they did ODST and the other newer games. If I controlled Amazon and could sell old crap knowing people would buy it quicker than new stuff, what do you think I would do? What would you do?

There were some good deals on Amazon this year, but I passed on most. Last year seemed to have a greater diversity of deals, and I picked up a lot of titles that were lower on my radar because of the price. This year I just picked up stuff that I specifically wanted or was giving as gifts.

That said we have a long ways until Xmas yet, so there is plenty of time for more price discounts along the way.
No one will be satisfied until all of Amazon's stock is free.

There's no way I could get everything in my cart in time.
that's true.

talk about fast reflexes.

Yep,
if Amazon's stock was free, UPS would need Three UPS cars exclusively for me to deliver the goods to my house.

Also, The stripper in the unicorn is fine too

Amazon still says "Shipping Soon" for the PS3 I ordered yesterday...and I received it about 20 minutes ago. Setting it up now :)

The CAGs who think this year "beat" last year's selection must all have a short memory because it's not even comparable. Yeah there were a few good deals, but BF itself had nothing going on and last year not only had loads of great deals (better deals) during BF but sweet deals all weekend long. I also agree there were more deals, a greater diversity, of deals last year. A lot more $10-$20 deals instead of just $15-$20 off a newish title.

Outside of less than a handful of titles, Amazon really disappointed this year. And they had no original deals of their own -- everything was a price match.

The Blu-Ray sales were good -- but they were the same as every other outlet. The fact that none of them sold out, or took a long time to do so, makes me think Blu itself as a format isn't moving in big numbers still.

All right, Black Friday haul for me:

Waited outside Old Navy for 5 and a half hours with a group of cool people- I actually enjoyed it a lot, seeing as they were all also there for Lego Rock Band, and I thought the majority of the people waiting would be there for clothes. :D I got inside, got what I needed (went by beforehand to make sure where everything I was getting was) and was the first to check out. Since I spent just over $25 getting my two pairs of pants, I got Lego Rock Band and a free Rock Band Track Code. ^_^

Then I went to wait outside Game Crazy... It was DEAD EMPTY for half an hour, so I decided to meet a friend at Wal-Mart. To my surprise, ALL THE GAMES WERE OPENED AND ON THE FLOOR ALREADY. O_O There were some decent 10/25 titles- GTA IV and Dead Space for ten, and Call of Duty 4, UFC, Dead Space: Extraction, and more for $25. But the only things that stuck out to me were a couple of the $7 games- Radiata Stories and Dragon Quest VIII LE (with the FF XII Demo)... So I picked those up. XP

Then I went to Game Crazy and waited half an hour (second in line, and only one more person lined up behind me) for Prototype, Pokemon: MDEoD, Prince of Persia, and Animal Crossing (which I was convinced to buy at the last second by an employee... And I don't regret it. :p). What I was disappointed by was the fact PoP didn't qualify for the B1G1, despite it not being a Thurs-Fri Doorbuster. I explained to the employee/manager why it should qualify, and even pointed to the ad, but they argued that it ended in a 90 cent value, which meant that it didn't qualify for promotions. Apparently that was for employee understanding and the ad was for consumer understanding. Whatever. Anyway, thanks to Pipe Manias, Emma in the Mountains, etc., I spent $20 getting 50- something store credit, and I only paid $20. :p So my total after all was only $6.37. ^_^; So... Total for my haul:

Lego Rock Band, Track Code, 2 pairs of pants (XD) - ~$25
Radiata Stories, Dragon Quest VIII LE - ~$14
Prototype, Pokemon: MD, Prince of Persia, Animal Crossing - ~$26

Total: $65 for seven games. ^_^ I'm happy. :D

I've got to tell you... I'm kind of glad there weren't all the great $5-15 deals this year. Last year I loaded up on a ton of DS, PSP and Wii games and accessories that I've still not even opened, but that I "couldn't pass up at that price."
I got Lego Rock Band and a free Rock Band Track Code. ^_^
Gotta ask... how did you get the free track code? I must have missed that.

I think the real story here isnt that Amazon "sucked", it's that the other retailers stepped their game up. The only reason anyone is complaining about the $35 Brutal Legend, Daragon Age, et al. is that Amazon wasnt the only place that was doing the deal. I may have medium-term memory loss (blame it on the alcohol) but I dont remember very many popular new releases last year hitting the sub-$30 range (correct me if I'm wrong).

35 bucks for those titles is a great deal...its just that this year, you could get that deal at more places than Amazon. So I *guess* if you expected Amazon to always undercut the best deal out there, sure they "sucked". But if you look at the price compared to retail, they did just fine.

On a personal note, all of "Black Friday" was overrated if you ask me, speaking of the actual "Friday". I've been looking at a 40"-42" TV and there was no deal for "Friday" that was significantly better than the deals you could have gotten online/in-store on the days before Thanksgiving. I think many of the retailers decided to space out things before BF rather that just rely on the one day.

X-Men Trilogy went really fast, and maybe Dark Knight, Watchmen, and the Bond Collection? Didn't pay as much attention to those, but I know Bond sold out before I remembered to get it.
Oh man! I'm so tempted.....
Oh man! I'm so tempted.....

Haha I don't think Amazon is going to go any cheaper than $40. Uncharted 2 is an awesome game. Well worth $40 if you ask me.
Walmart has 15% Bing cashback though. And you can get free store pickup.
If I did site to store, could I pick it up now given they have it in stock?
If I did site to store, could I pick it up now given they have it in stock?
No, Walmart is stupid. They actually ship one from their online warehouse to the store.

Site to store orders are not in store pickup. They actually ship your item(or at least say they do) to the loading dock in the back. You have to wait for them to tell you to pick it up
This sense of entitlement I'm seeing is incredible.
Jesus shut up. Nobody is claiming entitlement. Disappointment is the common theme for anyone expecting deals like last year.
Amazon still says "Shipping Soon" for the PS3 I ordered yesterday...and I received it about 20 minutes ago. Setting it up now :)
you just got me really excited...i have 5 orders coming, but i didnt think "ups 2nd day air" delivered on saturday.

So there isn't any video game lightning deals on Amazon today? What the hell does "deals through cyber monday" mean then? I'm confused.

Amazon was terrible this year anyways. I told so many friends and family that Amazon was the absolute king of Black Friday and then they pulled whatever the crap this was. Street Fighter IV for $20, with a remake coming so soon? Right...awesome deal. The only thing that would have interested me was TWEWY for $10 but I already picked it up for $7 a week before Black Friday at Blockbuster.

No convincing people next year, because after this, no ones gonna believe me.

I didn't purchase anything from Amazon last year. So, I really can't compare the last two years of deals. But the two things I really wanted and didn't want to wait in line at Best Buy for, Left 4 Dead 2 and FIFA Soccer 10 for $35 each, got PMed by Amazon and I didn't even have to leave my house to get them.

I probably should have bit on Dragon Age, too. But I'm keeping my last chunk of money in my account ready for Cyber Monday. I'm guessing there won't be any more lightning deals until then.

lol yeah, it was too hard to pass on things last year. at least this time, they're not leaving us in quite as big a drunken stupor on savings.

Ughhhh uncharted 2 for 40 bucks. So tempting. I have created such a huge backlog in the past week and I have still yet to finish the first uncharted. Idk what to do.
how long is the story of uncharted 2?
id say a good 10-12 hrs, maybe longer.

i havent enjoyed a video game series as much as i have with uncharted 1 & 2 in ALONNNNNNG time. pick it up!

uncharted 2 is well worth the $40(or $60 really), imo it's one of the best games this generation and the best ps3 game to date.
Walmart has 15% Bing cashback though. And you can get free store pickup.
Hmm, never knew about this.

So I just made my Bing account and signed into Walmart.com (from Bing's page).
Do I just buy my stuff and I get the money back in Paypal or what?

If you have a ton of other games to play including the first Uncharted, UC2 will probably be $40 everywhere by the time you're ready to play it.

Same here bro

i ordered the 1st uncharted for 15 and i waiting for my copy
now i could also order the 2nd for 40. not a bad a deal considering the game came out in october.

The thing is that i dont have a ps3

Best Buy fucked me in the ass when they cancelled my order after all the ps3 bundles like walmart and amazon were out of stock.
i REALLY wanted a ps3 bundle this black friday but i cant get any now. that is why i ordered the 11st uncharted in the 1st place.
