Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
I think I am done with Amazon, I am tired of having to beg them to give me credits that should be automatic. The last 2 games has taken over a week to get to me and I live less than 7 hours from the place they ship from. I am sure with all of the deals they had going on the distribution was overwhelmed but that isn't my fault... They also screwed me on the ECA thing so 3 strikes and they are out...
They won't miss you.

More for us. Amazon has NEVER failed me... They never will. :applause:
it has the instant credit UC2 glitch.
actually just checked it and they only send you an email telling you you'll receive the credit after it ships, not the actual credit itself.

can you "gift" your $20 promo credit, or any promo credit for that matter, to someone?

I'm in need of some microsoft points and wanted to see if anyone would trade me for my $20 credit i got from MW2

The MW2 credit is automatically added to your account as a credit off a future game purchase... how are you going to trade it to someone?

When does the $20 MW2 credit expire? I dont want it to expire without me ordering a game, but I cant find a way to check when it does.
Sweet! After emailing them for the second time, I finally got my $20 credit for Modern Warfare 2. \\:D/
nice. i got this game when it came out.

definitely worth the buy!
Bayonetta better be on this list.
i hope so, but isn't that less than a month away? seems like if they were going to do that they would have by now.
i'll let that slide if they put no more heroes 2 on the list.

Just an FYI...I participated in the "Buy $80 worth of games, get $40 promotional credit for ONE video game purchase". Bought UC2 and Riddick for just over $80, and waited for DA:O to come down to $40 so I wouldn't have to pay anything. On T-Day, it dropped to $34.99 and I bought it, thinking that the entire credit would be used up b/c that's what the fine print said.

Well, I purchased Ghostbusters at the discounted $19.78 price the other day, and there was a $5.01 promtional credit applied to my purchase. Seems like it can only be leftover credit from the $80/$40 promo. Hopefully anyone else out there who isn't aware of this credit can try it out for themselves to see if it works for them.

The wording was strange so it was pretty up in the air at first, but yeah, every other amazon credit I've used or read about has worked the same. I think the latest psn 20$ credit had some iffy wording, but people have used that on multiple titles as well.

I have had a bad couple of days from items recieved from amazon. I got the Tekken 6 LE version(360) and it was missing the usb dongle that makes the arcade stick work(sending back and getting a replacement and a five dollar credit). Today I get the Ghostbusters: Slimer Edition and the paint is smeared on the base of the slimer statue! I called them and they said that they were sold out(naturally) and the only thing I can do is send it back for my $30 dollar refund and an extra five dollar credit. I just emailed them now to try to get a larger credit because it can't be replaced for under 60 now and it was the second screwed up order in a row. I hope they hook me up with a bigger credit because I am a HUGE amazon fan but this is ridiculous.

I thought the Tekken 6 dongle was only needed for the PS3 one. If it's the same, check the foam/cardboard stabilizers that hold the stick. The PS3 bundle I bought had the dongle taped into one of the crannies.

the 360 version doesn't use a dongle and in al honesty even if it did... neither of those problems are actually amazon's fault....

I don't think you'll get more than 1 credit per game.

Got my $10 credit for MW2. Although you'd think you would have gotten $20 for the prestige edition.

Put it to use and bought a silver dualshock 3 :D

Did anyone else who preordered Crystal Bearers already get promo credit, even though Amazon says the credit is only supposed to be applied to a future game purchase after the game ships? Sorry if that's how Amazon always does it, I don't know how promo credit works.

check your email again. it's probably an email saying that you will receive another email when the game ships that will tell you that you really have the $10 credit.

I see, the email was ambiguous to me because it says I'll receive the credit when "the product" ships, without saying which product, Crystal Bearers or my subsequent purchase. I thought it meant Crystal Bearers but it makes more sense to be the next purchase, which hasn't shipped.

The whole reason I got confused was because I'd actually cancelled a Crystal Bearers preorder and was wondering why the heck the promo credit still showed up when I put in a new preorder. Amazon will just figure out I actually don't have credit and not really apply it when that order ships, right?

Come on Amazon! You can do better than that!

I preordered Bioshock 2 and only got a $5 code off On-Demand TV or something. I e-mailed amazon and they said they fixed it but when I try my code on a video game in my cart it only takes $5 off. I emailed them again yesterday but they still haven't replied.

You don't get the $10 off code until after the game ships. What you got was a $5 off code for on-demand tv/movies from amazon. They didn't do anything wrong. What you did was "wrong" in that you hassled them about making it into a video game credit when it was never advertised as such. If people got the $10 off code right away, you could pre order all sorts of crap and just continually cancel after you get the code.

Yep, you're right they just responded to my e-mail saying that. They did end up changing that $5 off for on-demand tv to a $5 video game credit though from the first e-mail I sent. I just tested it out by putting spirit tracks in my cart. Not bad I guess.

I have a list of about 6 video games Im looking for this year specifically Bioshock, Halo 3, Fable 2, & Fallout 3 Xbox 360 and Mario Kart & Animal Crossing Wii.

I see today that Toys R Us has a "Buy 3 Get the 4th Free" on all video games deal going on this week so about 25 off. I know in mid-October they had a "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale on all video games about 33 off with a spend 75 get a 10 gift card. I was broke, and I held off thinking someone would do a "Buy 2 Get 2 Free" deal like if my memory serves me correctly Toys R Us ran last year about this time. Anyone have any hints on if that will be happening again?

Im planning on picking up Bioshock & Halo 3 used and get used controller free at Gamestop on Black Friday with their buy 2 used games/accessories, get 1 free. Looking at their scans and website they are showing Halo 3 used for 39.99 and Bioshock used 24.99.

So Im looking to score the other 4 games with the best deal possible. Anyone have any ideas on where to look?

Question, why halo 3 and not odst? If you play online, ODST comes with EVERY halo 3 map(you'd need to buy/download some with just a regular halo 3 disc) as well as a new online mode exclusive to ODST called firefight(which is pretty awesome). The singleplayer from halo 3 is the only thing it does not have, it has a new campaign.

I have that 5 dollar TV credit too. Not really sure what to use it on. Sparse selection and I don't really believe in digital downloads.

If I could use it on video games though, that'd be cool.

well the deal they had for CoD2 was pre-order and when you get the game in the mail then they e mail you the 20 credit i got from them. so if they do that with the 10 dl credit it might not work because you will not have time to apply that to any order that ships to you.

So, Hitman Blood Money (360) has been dropping the past week and just hit 19.25. I want the game, but is it worth it or should I wait?

*edit*Dunce cap Award - This only applies if you received this e-mail from amazon, sorry for not reading that part earlier.

For anyone making purchases at amazon now or putting money on pre-orders, they're doing a buy a 50$ gift card get 5 off your next purchase. Since you can apply gift card/credit to already existing orders, it's an easy way to get 5 bucks extra if you can afford the 50 now(or multiple 50's if that works fine?)

I haven't made a purchase on the GC yet, probably after next paycheck to make sure the month comes out right, but I imagine you can just give yourself the first giftcard and then you'll get the 5$ in your cart as well.

Ton of games coming out starting in just a month so it probably won't feel like an "investment" that you have to wait a long time on either.
