Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.
Lol you guys have no faith :).

I've already got all the people who purchased at the higher price point in the system and queued up to refund you the difference for what you paid :).

EA was adamant that we do this before promoting deeper on the 26th. Sorry for not including in my original post, it has been a crazy day.

Cheers,

Tony,

This is why I keep buying games from you because you have the best customer service in the history of pc downloads or anywhere for that matter. I will never doubt you again. Thanks.

Yeah I have to +1, Like and retweet this lol. No seriously he is completely correct. Thanks so much.
Is there less bugs on Dead Island for PC, a strong modding community, etc, to warrant getting it on the PC instead of a console?
Here's a thread on the Steam Forums about Mods, Modding & Tweaking this game Dead Island PC.

Dead Island PC was in pretty good shape, when I recently played it with Patch 1.3.0 installed a bit ago [October to early November 2011] and also VERY recently when I played the Ryder White DLC [late April 2012].
I didn't try and DI mods, though...I should note.

EDIT:
Anytime you do decide to mod a Steam-required game, make sure you back-up your game BEFORE applying any mods.
You can use the built-in Steam "archiving" back-up utility or just back-up your entire game folder somewhere else in a CLEAN slate without any mods installed.
This way, if mods screw-up your game, you don't have DL the entire monster again. You can just reinstall your back-up last clean official version and then mod-up from there again.

Seeing as it's a Bethesda game, I'm really never too arsed about bugs here and there. People get so riled up over a freeze here and there, but I still remember dealing with that every so often with Fallout 3. Didn't break the game, and that's still one of my all time favorite games. Also seeing as it's a Bethesda game, I thought getting it for PC might be a good idea if the game was set up to be pretty accessible to modders (like Fallout and Elder Scrolls are). Never had any of those games for the PC but I've always wanted to so I could toy with the mods. Looks like Dead Island is similar; mods get better with age! Give us a shout when you guys have the better price on Dead Island, Tony! I'm sure you can beat those silly Steam prices. ;)

Dead Island is NOT made by BethSoft...nor is it published by BethSoft, either.

Dead Island is made and developed by Techland (the company who made Call of Juarez games).
Deep Silver published the DI games.

Lol, I think its to the point where any bug riddled mess of a game is most likely from Bethesda (great games are no excuse for sloppiness), so he probably was thinking of that.

For any interested the price match for Dead Island just went live on Amazon. Redeemed the game and both dlc's on steam, after teh purchase. Time to go mash some zombies while watching my Pirates lose to the Mets. Ugg... baseball season is painful.

Wow, someone's trying for a Customer Rep of the Year nomination. That's amazing, most companies would be like "well, you thought it was a good deal before at that price". Fantastic. Just..Wow. Seriously, you Sir, get a cookie. :bouncy:

And I love that you called the Alice/Mirror's Edge pack the Femme Fatale Pack

For people who get Dead Island you're going to want a mod/launcher called 'Dead Island Helper' -- it allows you to make a lot of graphical tweaks to the game.

Ah, silly me. I must have just heard so many comparisons to Dead Island and Bethesda games (and the glitches that come with them) that my brain told me Bethesda made it. xD

So for reference, the prices are...

Dead Island - $11.99
Ryder White DLC - $3.99
Bloodbath Arena DLC - $3.99

Correct?

Would much rather wait till I have a setup that could handle this game, but those prices are hard to pass up. Any chance of a bundle (or the coming GOTY release) being a better deal in coming months?

There is a Dead Island GOTY coming out in a month. I would imagine the best deal would be Halloween sale of the GOTY copy, though honestly the prevailing opinion of the DLC is that it's kind of terrible anyway.

GOTY only contains the current DLC and a preorder item. Retails for 30 bucks, so even if it only goes half off during Halloween or Summer Steam sales, it'd be 15 and save you a few bucks in the long run.

Those are the prices I paid for the game and dlc. The question about bundles or a goty edition, will leave that to Tony or someone with more coming soon to pc editions than I.

Thanks for making up my mind for me, lol. I can wait.
Thank you very much for the answer, I really appreciate this.

Does anyone know if the Sims 3 Pets download includes the LE content? I know that it was available through the download version, but wasn't sure if it was all DL's or if it's unavailable now?
Tacking on another Sims 3 question: Tony, were your hamsters able to verify DRM on the various Sims 3 packs? If your EA contact is lurking, maybe he/she can fill in the blanks, too.

Thanks again!
The Dead Island DLC simply isn't worth buying (not to dampen Tony's sales!).
The only thing is...
Ryder White DLC fills in the gaps and explains some of the plot-twists and events that felt pulled out of nowhere in the Dead Island base game.

Yeah, I was contemplating buying it now and just grabbing the Ryder White DLC. The other didn't look very interesting to me.

Hopefully it'll be cheaper and all inclusive in the future though, so I'll just wait for that. I'd love to play the game, but until my system can I think I can hold off. :)

Does anyone have more information on this "umbrella bug" I'm hearing about on Madness Returns? Apparently a key block ability just doesn't work and you are forced to restart the game again and again just to fix it (sometimes). I've also heard there are loads of bugs for the key bindings and that EA hasn't bothered to patch or fix any of this.

Thoughts? For the price I'll probably still buy it regardless, but have these issues been addressed or is everyone pretty much effed on them?

Here is hoping on a sale for Dungeon Defenders. I didn't know Dungeon Defenders was both Mac + Win compatible until she set up her steam account and I seen it. I would like to grab a copy for the GF so we can co-op that game. I love DD a lot, and well it would be cool to share the love :D.

"Starts 5/25:
Kingdoms of Amalur: $35.99"

Considering the developer is near bankruptcy I think I will hold off til the state of RI owns it and sells it off for cheap.

That's kind of horrible. The publisher likely sets the price anyway, and EA isn't exactly about to go under.

With all the seasonal sales and the huge backlog of games most gamers have, I dunno how anyone justifies paying more than $15 for most games, and that's being generous (I usually wait for the $5-10 ultimate-all-dlc-included version). There's always the A+++ games that a gamer must have immediately, but this isn't one of them :p

The Steam version is published by 38 studios so no meddlesome EA to get in the way of going-out-of-business-sale prices.
Sorry for the delayed responses here guys, I was puppy proofing the house yesterday and hanging with my new buddy (finally asleep at 5:00AM J ).

Here you go on 5/26 and 5/27

Total War: Shogun 2 - $7.49
Football Manager 2012 - $7.49
Sonic Generations -$7.49
SEGA 48-Game Mega Arcade Pack - $9.99
Alien vs. Predator - $4.99
Sega 48 Game Mega Pack - $9.99
Hooray!!. Finally!. Thanks for that Tony :)

Did anyone else grab Civ IV? I did, and when it installs it's basically like I've got 4 games. I thought the "Complete Edition" would have everything all in one. I really have to play each game one at a time? That seems kind of... strange.

Beyond the Sword has all the incremental improvements/add-ons/etc. Play that if you want to play the most up-to-date Civ IV that has, "Everything all in one". The other game launchers are really only there for you to play the scenarios if you're into that.

You're saying that Beyond the Sword has everything from the base game, Warlords, Beyond the Sword, and Colonization? Except for the scenarios?
You're saying that Beyond the Sword has everything from the base game, Warlords, Beyond the Sword, and Colonization? Except for the scenarios?
Colonization is it's own game running on the Civ IV engine, but yes as far as expansion from the base game and Warlords (units, leaders, features), Beyond the Sword has everything but the scenarios.
You're saying that Beyond the Sword has everything from the base game, Warlords, Beyond the Sword, and Colonization? Except for the scenarios?
Colonization is a separate game and only loosely plays like Civilization. It's included since it uses the Civ4 engine and they kind of branded it as a spinoff.
Beyond the Sword does include all the content (Except scenarios) of base game and Warlords, though. It DOES require Civ4 to run, but depending on how Amazon handles it you probably only need to install BTS and it comes with 4 prepackaged.

So yeah, unless you really want to play the Warlords scenarios or play civ 4 without expansion content, you just need to install BTS. And Colonization is a separate game.

Small clarification regarding Civ IV and BTS, BTS does not actually have access to the tutorial. So if you're new to CIV games, install vanilla first to play that.

Is the Femme Fatale Pack redeemable on Steam?

Also, this sale is amazing. I already grabbed the Bioshock and Square Enix packs. Thanks.

No Steam, they should both register on Origin though, Alice I'm sure, Mirrors Edge not so sure.
Mirror's Edge and Alice prices are live. $9.99 for both. $4.99/$5.99 individually. Great deal, I love it.
I'm going to have a hard time resisting the Femme Fatale Pack. I know if I buy it, I'll be buying it again on steam like I just did with Assassin's Creed, but I still want to buy it ... must resist!

Don't fret. Those games will never be on Steam, as they are published by EA.

Most older EA games are on Steam, you just won't be able to get a Steam key if you buy them outside of Steam.

These questions about Steam keys from Amazon for EA games get asked over and over and over but it will never happen. EA is trying to push people into using their client (so that they can pocket 100% of the profits on their games with no middlemen or overhead CHACHING). They aren't going to give people any more excuses to use their biggest competitor in terms of PC gaming, certainly not with their own games.

If you want EA games on Steam you need to buy them on Steam. Period. Done. End of story. Thank you drive thru.
