F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Wow, can you really do this? Wouldn't they be able to track it or something? Has anyone done it this way already? Sorry for so many questions lol I just want to make sure before I do this so I don't waste my moniez
No clue.

I personally wouldn't try it myself.
My gift card balance is way too high to risk.

If I was looking to get Prime on credit (assuming you even can even buy gift with credit) I'd exchange gifts with someone, find someone to give me cash for an Amazon order bought on credit, or find items on Amazon I could resell.
Plenty of ways to convert your Amazon credit into cash.

The gift recipient can start their Prime membership right away. If the recipient is already a Prime member, the gift can be exchanged for an Amazon.com Gift Card

I read that wrong. Time for a nap.

I think he means if there will be repercussions of doing so, not whether it will work or not (which I don't see why it won't).

Personally I wouldn't do this, I don't want to be on Amazon's naughty list.

If you knew someone else with prime you could buy prime for each other.

If you knew someone with prime you could also share the account... You can have 5 members on one prime account.
I know that too.... I was saying maybe there was someone that trusted someone like justinTIME and justinTIME already had 5 people on his account, but he can gift you it and you can gift him it....

Gotcha. Yea I knew what you meant. Would be smart way to use GC balance to buy prime, just seems like more of a hassle then it's worth.

I'm non-Prime too.  If I buy multiple things on Amazon to get $35 for FSSS then return one of the items, do they go ahead and charge shipping for the remaining items I received?

Also, if I get the Prime trial and it expires before an order ships, do they add shipping after?
Agreed, and if you like Zelda then especially Darksiders. The voice acting is absolutely terrible and the story's so so but it's a pretty great homage to Ocarina of Time but with God of War combat. Also it's really not all that open world once you get into it, not even as much as OoT really. Once you get into the heart of it the game follows the typical Zelda structure and the over world is really just getting you to the next dungeon with some collectible a to find.
ive heard this regarding Zelda. I have both first and darksiders 2 on steam. Haven't played. If I were to just play one which do u recommend? 1 or 2? Thanks

If you don't live forever, it's kind of pointless, right?

Games were meant to be played, not shelved, I understand the addiction but it's not a good or purposeful one to have.  I used to buy far too many, still more than I should, but time becomes a premium, and just because they are out there doesn't mean they need picked up.  :)

I haven't started 2 yet, that's probably going to happen next week, but I would start with 1 since 2 is a direct sequel and while the story can be hit and miss I thought the world they were setting up was very interesting.

Again, I've tried Rage twice now, and everyhthing about it just screams "generic" and I know the ending is supposed to be horrible.
Nothing about it is interesting to me. And the combat is worse than I remembered. I shoot a guy in the head and he doesn't die but it's not like Borderlands or whatever

As for overall games, I just love to own games, any game that I do have or have played has never been a "bad" game to me, I can play just about anything.

Of course there are games I don't like, but to me, that doesn't mean I'm like, "that game is garbage, or s***"
I totally agree with you on Rage. Let me list the pros and cons of the game

Pros:
Cool secret doors

Cons:
Missable collectables (this one pisses me off the most - what is this, the 90's?)
Generic gun play
Impossible to find the doors listed above, unless looking them up
OP boomerang thing
Nothing pretty to look at
Lame multiplayer
Horrible ending

If you didn't play the game on nightmare, then please don't disagree. You can see the most amount of flaws on any game by throwing it on the hardest difficulty.

there's a difference between having a ''backlog'' and just being a hoarder. Play your fucking games no one cares about your backlog

I don't disagree with this. I think some people like to discuss their backlog more than playing games. I have a huge backlog, but manage to post 99% of the time without discussing it. There are threads here that are dedicated to backlogs and similar things, where it is totally fine. But damn it if the 2nd or 3rd post of most deals isn't someone talking about their backlog.

Besides this mini rant, I don't really care much, but since it was brought up while I was thinking about, thought I would vomit my opinion on it.

When I first started on CAG I bought up a bunch of games on deals but after sometime it was really a waste if my money since typically most games drop in value. Games just aren't a good investment to me. So outside of steam my physical console games are kept at a minimum.

I now I buy/trade and play. Trade/sell and buy the next game to play. I hate having a backlog. I admit I really enjoy the aspect of scooping up a good deal, but I almost always turn it around to trade it flip rather than keep and that I enjoy as a hobby too thanks to CAG. My wife thinks I probably enjoy selling and trading games as much as I do playing them and there is some truth to it. I just can't hoard anymore though as it doesn't make much financial sense.

I've honestly grown to dislike the word from seeing it so much on here, when I think of backlog I think of a load of shitty games that are waiting to be played, and I don't see the point in doing that when you can have a smaller list of good, quality games to play. I'm not saying to not buy games you are interested in or just wanna try out for a good price, but hoarding a ton of games just because they are cheap doesn't make sense to me. If there's a game I'm only remotely interested in that can be had for a good price WITH a nice turn around making it basically a rental, I'll pick it up and finish it ASAP so my backlog doesn't accumulate.

I agree. Target had a whole bunch of $5-$10 DS games, but would I rather buy 5 crap games for $20-30 or one great game for the same price?

depends on if its actually a crappy game or not which you would more than likely not know without doing some research and getting a hands on experience. 20-30 for one great game is a waste however unless you are either A impatient or B the game had a limited print and will only go up in price or C its from nintendo in which case your  fuck outside a best of or whatever edition.

I have only bought Nintendo gams for my 3DS.

But I'm talking crap DS games, like a Transformer game, with it's movie, or LEGO Harry Potter, and some game that has "wire" it's it's title along with a bunch of otter random crap.

No deals was the whole reason we started discussing the games. I didn't feel like it was completely off-topic. But sorry to those who it bothered.

As for the backlog vs. hoarding thing, I would definitely say mines a backlog, I've went through several, several games recently that I had in my collection.

You know I keep seeing used copies at GS for under $5...I do want to try to finish it just for the secrets....

Hopefully this AWD drought will eventually regain strength and a bunch of new deals pop up within the next week. And of course I'll be asleep or away from my laptop and will miss all of them.

Something must be up with AWD right? The last two months we thought the issue was AWD dealing with the demand of holiday orders or dealing with holiday returns, but we are almost in February now and still the restocks are minimal at best.

I would naturally assume they are probably in the midst of doing year-end stuff.

Wonder if the worthless trade-in values for many games has something to do with the drought. A shit ton of titles, even many valuable ones, get a measly $0.21 for trade-in.

Anyone have thoughs on this? I'm very tempted, since I have some gift card credit. I've never bought anything from Amazon Warehouse, somehow always miss out on the good deals. I'd also like to pick up a Vita before the Slims become the norm, as I perfer the OLED screen.
I wouldn't buy it. The first edition bundle doesn't even really come with anything worth while and it is used for only $30 below retail. People were buying the Walking Dead bundle from AWD for about $150.

Pretty sure you can find it a lot cheaper if you're looking at used. I bought mines from cowboom a few months ago for about $115.

This could be a big part of the problem.

Have to say though I have been enjoying this casual banter back and forth this last week.
